I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 576: The Mightiest

"This old man really has a tough brain," Spencer smirked. "I'm nobody. I'm just a regular old Terran."

"How preposterous of you to think that I would just sit around idly while you wreck us up," Francoise growled. He backed away from Spencer and conjured strings of cosmic energy around him. The cosmic energy took shape of a flower before it opened, charging a massive power at the tip.

"You don't know anything about anything, old man," Spencer smirked. "You have been under my curse from the moment you stepped into our lives."

Francoise suddenly felt his body weaken. He looked around, only for him to slowly lose his sight. "What is going on?!"

"Infinite Transgressions coated my Memory Alteration," Spencer said. "When something feels like it's going to kill me, my curse would automatically activate. You'll lose your memory every time you remember. That's so fun."

"But we haven't lost ours."

Spencer froze when he heard the voice behind him. With wide eyes, he slowly looked back, only to see the angered face of Reginald, Frederick, and Luck.

"What are you doing?" Frederick growled. "Are you a traitor?"

"I was never a traitor for I was never your ally." Spencer hovered and raised himself from the ground. "My loyalty lies to Heaven and the Prince. He will usurp his father because it is his prophecized and then we will rule Heaven together."

"Prince?" Reginald gulped. "How do you know that I was prophecized to take over Heaven?"

"So, you know about it just like what he said," Spencer giggled. "This will make my job much easier."

He created a ripple made of bright white light, twirling around him. "I will kill that pathetic princess and you will return to Heaven with me. I assume you're at level 100. Just one more thing before you can surpass that level cap."

Reginald was silent as he watched his supposed friend with shock and terror. He gulped and shook his head. "How did you know?"

"I was the one who gave you The Manual!" Spencer yelled. "You said that you would take over Heaven with me by your side. I sacrificed taking the chance to surpass level 100 because of you."

"What?" Reginald was confused. He didn't know what Spencer was talking about. He was trying to look for his memories for anything, but he was failing. "Spencer, tell me what is going on?!"

Spencer sighed and shrugged. "I guess the cat is out of the bag. I have no reason to lie anymore, so I'll just tell you everything, my prince."

"You..." Reginald trailed off. "But you're Terran! How could you call me that? Let alone know who I am?"

"Memory Alteration," Spencer said. "I was always curious about how we can store our experiences in our lives and store them in our mind and even muscles and organs. I studied that and came to realize that memory is a fragile thing. Easy to manipulate and easy to break."

"You're not saying," Reginald cut his words. "You manipulated my memory? Who are you, then?!"

"Your best friend," Spencer grinned. "The person who listened to all your ridiculous plans. The one who comforted you when your mother died. The man that you swore to be with forever."

"Spencer, that sounds like you're— No," Reginald said. "Why would I do that? I could never imagine myself with you in that way. You're my closest friend, but that's not something that frieds do, Spencer. We're not like that."

"Yes, we are!" Spencer yelled. He conjured white beams of light and fired it around his foes, barely trying to let them dodge the magic that he rained upon them.

His skills were intending to kill them and he wasn't hiding that. His aura was dark and his eyes were fierce, angry. He wanted to kill and he wanted to do it as soon as he can. "I want to be by your side for the rest of our lives. You should live with me to Heaven once we kill your father. We will usurp Heaven together and we shall rule the realm.

Maybe we'll take on children—"

"Melissa is pregnant."

The world seem to came at a pause once the words left Reginald's lips. He looked down for a second before regaining his composure and looked back up at Spencer. He watched the tears flow from his friend's eyes, but he had no other choice but to tell him the truth.

"End this madness, Spencer," Reginald begged. "Let's go back to the guild. I'll forget everything that you have done until now and let's just go back to the way things were."

"You promised," Spencer whispered. He looked down and lowered himself to the ground where he kneeled and sobbed. "You promised me that it was just going to be us against the world. That the ones we met along the way are just part of the journey, but not the destination that we are headed."

"All this time you have been misunderstanding my words, Spencer," Reginald gave him a sad smile. He walked forward and placed a hand on his friend. "You are my dearest friend, but I want a family of my own. You should find one too. There are many beautiful girls in this realm. Hell, I would gladly choose one for you."

Spencer started to smile as he held out his hand. "Help me up."

"Of course, bud," Reginald chuckled. He took his friend's hand and pulled him from the ground. Their friends around them started to relax, but then everything changed once Spencer got up.

It was Reginald who fell to his knees this time. Francoise was filled with shock and terror once he saw how Spencer bore a hole right on Reginald's stomach.

"What have you done?!" Francoise yelled. He conjured a wave of cosmic rays at Spencer, but the latter blocked it with a white orb that he wrapped around himself. He leaned down and took the book that Reginald kept on his bag.

"So, The Manual that I gave him has almost reached the maximum, huh?" Spencer smirked. "It's only a matter of time before he could've become the strongest person in all five Realms and become an Absolute. If only he just listened to me."

"Flaming Barrage!" Frederick launched his deadly flames toward Spencer, but the latter blocked the attacks using his shield. He was laughing as he danced with the book.

"This is funny," Spencer laughed. "I killed the person that I swore to protect. Isn't that ironic? But then again, it was him who had been trying to change our plans. I wanted us to live a happy and contented life, yet he ruined it with his love. He ruined our friendship because of his pathetic dream."

"Spencer!" Luck yelled as he launched himself to the sky. He whistled and cast a skill that created ripples spear-like winds that rained down upon Spencer. "You're going to pay for this!"

"I don't owe you anything!" Spencer yelled. "I only owe my life to Reginald and look at him now. Dead."

"That's because you killed him!" Frederick cast another skill. This time, he launched a beam of pure flames at Spencer. The beam managed to break Spencer's shield but he was agile and was able to take Reginald's body to escape the attack.

"You're messed up in the head," Luck said. He raised his sword and launched an endless slashes at the smaller man. Spencer didn't even look like he was having a hard time. He was laughing as he blocked the slashes with his sword that was made of light.

"All of you are fools to believe that I was just an ordinary Terran," Spencer said. "I was never ordinary, even for Angels. They look up to me and I became the most powerful Angel to guide the prince. He should have taken over Heaven with me as his champion, but he chose some bimbo over me."

"You don't respect Reginald, huh?" Francoise chuckled. A surge of power exploded and the man growled. Spencer felt the power that it made all the nerves of his body tremble. "You think that the man who united us was just someone who wanted to do what you thought would be good?!"

The power overwhelmed Spencer. He knew that even when he was going to use his trump card, he would lose against such monster. Francoise was in a whole other level.

"I'm not strong enough to fight you right now," Spencer grinned. He placed the book down and winked. "But I will be back."

Spencer raised his hand and a ball of energy exploded, blinding everyone in the area. The force was also powerful that it managed to negate some of Francoise's aura.

"That coward," Frederick growled. He rushed to Reginald's side, trying to heal him with his magic. "I'm fire that burns, but I can also replenish."

"I'm not dead yet," Reginald chuckled. "But I will be soon."

"You're not going to die!" Francoise growled. "No."

"Look," Reginald pointed at the spirit collectors that gathered around him. "I will pass and resurrect in Heaven. Spencer took some of my life but I'm sure I will return."

A dark light appeared and a woman ran towards Reginald. Trinidad walked out of the portal, panting. "I came here as soon as I could."

"No," Melissa sobbed with the man she loved slowly dying in her arms. "Reginald, no. Please don't go."

"Take care of our child, Melissa," Reginald smirked. "Tell him that he had the mightiest adventurer as his father. Tell him that I am the mightiest."
