I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 569: Elliot's Past Part 1

"Elliot, my child."

The boy's eyes fluttered open and a familiar wooden ceiling greeted him. He rubbed his eyes and sat up, seeing that he was in his old house. The warm crisp air and the freshly cooked potatoes was all too familiar.

"Where am I?" Elliot asked as he glanced to see a familiar face. Tears fell from his eyes, ones that he couldn't stop from falling. "M–Mother?"

Elliot opened his arms and tackled the woman with a gentle hug. "I miss you so much, mother. You don't know how much I missed you."

"What?" the woman chuckled. "Why the drama all of a sudden, my child? I was always here."

"What?" Elliot suddenly realized that he was back when he was younger, way younger. "Mother, I have to help Lance and defeat Bruno. He will take over Hell and then destroy Terra."

His mother's eyebrows knit in confusion. "What are you talking about, my boy? Who is Lance? Who is Bruno?"

"What—" Elliot paused. "But mother..."

"You must have a good dream, my little one," she chuckled and wrapped her hands around him. "Your dreams were not real."

Elliot sniffled and nodded. "Right."

After they ate, Elliot's mother giggled and ran over to him. "Elliot, do you know what day it is today?"

Elliot shook his head. "No. What day is it?"

"It's the day of the Parade!" she giggled and lifted Elliot from his chair. "Let's go. The Parade will be filled with Adventurers from all over Avancia. We will meet the guilds and the strong heroes of the kingdom!"

"But Solaguer is always the last city to be visited by The Parade, mother. Most guilds do not come here," Elliot pouted.

His mother chuckled and shook her head. "But our heroes will be there. Let us show them the support that they deserve. Do you think that's fair?"

Elliot shrugged, "Well, I guess we can come."

His mother giggled and they left the house immediately. It didn't take long for Elliot and his mother to reach the city. Their house was quite far, but they made it just in time for the Adventurers to start the Parade.

The streets were filled with strong-looking people embellished with shining and shimmering armor. The different roles of Adventurers required them to have different types of clothing. Some had full armor, while some had little to nothing to wear.

"Mother, why do they look like that?" Elliot covered his eyes. "They look like they're almost naked."

"Those are assassins, my child," his mother said. "They are agile and fast fighters. Extra clothing will only hinder their movements, that's why they have to have thin clothing."

"Ripple never dressed like that," Elliot said. He suddenly looked around, confused. "What did I just say?"

"What?" his mother asked. "You're confusing me, child."

"Nothing, mother," Elliot said. "Let's just enjot the Parade."

The festivities continued and the two enjoyed the display of people. Some civilians challenged the Adventurers and lost with just one strike. Elliot couldn't help but laugh at these people. They didn't know what kind of trouble they got themselves into.

"Mother, I want to become an Adventurer." Elliot said.

"Do you?" his mother chuckled. "Your father was once the mightiest Adventurer."

"He was?" Elliot asked, amazed by what his mother said. "Who was he, mother?"

"His name was—"

"Hey, little child!" Elliot's mother was interrupted by a large man in full armor. "Do you like my armor?"

Elliot's eyes glowed in extreme happiness as he watched the man. He was in awe and excitement after touching the cold metal surface of the armor. "Mister, your armor is so cool!"

"Of course it is!" the man laughed.

"Mister, do you know that my father was the mightiest Adventurer?" Elliot asked with pure Innocence. "His name was— mother, what was his name again?"

"Damn it!" Connor grit his teeth. "Where is he?"

"You cannot catch me!" Bruno laughed as he dashed through the forest while jumping on trees. His movements were swift and fast that Connor was having a hard time trying to find him.

"Luminous Darkness!" Irus fired his attack but he missed. "How quick is he?"

"If what you said was true, then I was lucky that I didn't get to be affected by his skill," Connor said. "I would die if I would ever relive my past."

"Then you're lucky that your skill allows you to fly," Irus said. "But let's not get sentimental just yet. We have a powerful enemy at our midst."

"Right," Connor said. He raised his sword and fired himself from the ground, using as much power as he could to gain a speed equal or at least close to Bruno's speed.

"As if you can ever catch me," Bruno chuckled and gained even more speed. This irked Connor and prompted him to fire his attack blindly. He fired several shots at the Angel, but missed all of them.

"What the hell is that speed?" Connor grit his teeth as he tried to reach Bruno, but continuously failed. "I can neve reach him."

"Dark White." Irus whispered and vanished. Bruno looked around to find the Behemoth, but he suddenly felt a presence behind him. He turned around, but he was wrong. Irus was actually in front of him. "Got you."

With a grip on his head, Irus slammed Bruno to the ground. The Angel could only grunt after he felt his body being crushed to the soil. "What? How?"

"Your Eternal Limbo skill hinders you from using any other skill that's powerful," Irus sighed. "That was why you could only use minor skills and run. Isn't that right?"

"F*ck you!" Bruno yelled. "You can never catch me. Burning Vanish!"

Irus narrowed his eyes and rammed his bodu against Bruno before the man could turn himself into smoke and escape. Irus used a field of his power to trap Bruno and not let him use any other skill.

"It's useless," Irus said. "Deactivate Eternal Limbo right now!"

"No," Bruno laughed. "Why would I do that? I'm sure you know that I realized the powers of the Eternals. Them grouping together would only kill me."

"Break it." Connor pointed his burning sword at the Angel. "Break it or I'll break you."

"You can try, but I know you'll fail," Bruno giggled. "After all, you're the weakest among all Eternals. Even the Supreme Dragon Emperor surpassed you."

"I don't think you understand how I'm not going to respond to your provocations," Connor sighed. "Do you think I'm that stupid?"

Bruno smirked. "You can't save your friends. You're the weakest and you'll always be the weakest."

"Don't listen to him," Irus said. "He's trying to use your emotions against you."

"Of course, not," Connor shrugged. "Why would I listen to a lowlife like him?"

"Ed is stronger than you!" Bruno yelled.

"No he's not! Infernal Blazing Ring of Flames!" Connor fired his attack, causing Irus to dodge it and for Bruno to escape.

"F*ck!" Irus cursed as he tried to catch Bruno again. He looked for Bruno when the smoke cleared after the attack, but it was too late.

"Prison of the Angelic Demon." Bruno cast as his entire body turned to a black crystal.
