Chapter 567: The Legendary Teacher
Bruno's powers were beyond what Elliot and his group could comprehend. It was overwhelming and in a sense, terrifying. He could destroy and entire country with his powers and he knows he could intentionally not hold back.
The Land of Fantasy skill that was binding him to the illusion was powerful. It was charged with so much magic that just about anyone else wouldn't be able to break away from it.
But Bruno was Sariel. He was an archangel and he had vast amounts of mana and magic. He did not require to have anything except his magic and a skill that allows him to break through mental binds.
He closed his eyes as the tendrils of his magic try to break the illusion. He felt his power seethe into every space of the spherical magic, trying to find the entrance to his escape. "Where are you?"
The tendrils grew and scattered, flooding the sphere of black liquid of magical energy. When it seemed like there was no other way out, Bruno's patience withered. He screamed and fired his magic into the air, pouring everything he had on the sphere that contained him.
"Ancient Splurge!"
The black fluids that became of his aura filled the sphere and Trick could only watch as his magic get shattered by Bruno. He spent some time creating the magic and waited for the perfect moment for him to activate it, but it was all in vain. Bruno was still able to topple over his skill like it was nothing.
"I have to admit, that was great," Bruno chuckled when he woke up from the Land of Fantasy. "I didn't think it was that weak though, considering that you garnered a lot of magic just conjuring it."
"What do you want, Sariel?" Barbara asked. "You're filled with your own desire for something, but we don't know what that is."
"What I want is chaos." Bruno spoke, slowly opening his eyes. "I want the world to know destruction and pain and despair. I want everyone to know what that is, so don't stop me."
"We have to stop you now that you said your plans," Barbara said. "You want chaos and destruction, but we don't want that. Let's fight!"
"But your little parade of magic was nothing but another one of your party tricks to me. Even that last one, it was amusing but pitiful," Bruno laughed. "I haven't even seen a decent move from you nor a satisfactory attack. It's just too laughable."
"Sh*t," Trick could only mutter. He thought that the illusion could hold Bruno for at least while, by . "What do we do now?"
"We fight," Elliot brandished his sword and raised it above him. "We will not back down. Not now, not ever."
"You heard him," Lance chuckled. "When Elliot say we fight, we fight. He knows the battles that he can't win, but right now..." he glanced at the shorter boy. "He knows we're going to win."
"Fine," Trick said. "I'll provide the support you need— be it distractions or damages."
Elliot nodded and bent his knees to prepare for his attack. "Here I come."
Lance understood the flow of Elliot's aura and prepared himself to do the same. Their powers intertwined as well as Connor who was in the air.
"This is going to be fun," Connor grinned. The molten rock-like texture of his skin slowly melted, showing a bright reddish black flame.
"Omniscience!"
Elliot's body glowed with a dazzling pinkish red flames. His sword ignited with the same light, albeit slightly darker. His eyes were red and his clothes morphed into that of a king. He had white button down shirt topped with a red coat with gold embelishments.
His pants were black that were paired with dark red boots that are also embellished with golden detailings and dark red crystals. On his back was a blood long cape with fur collar sitting on his shoulders. He smirked and looked at Lance who was in a similar colothing but with different color scheme.
Lance was composed with black, white, and gold colors on his suit that were woven together seamlessly. His swords had a groove right on the middle with a golden light blaring from it.
"The two of you look like you're going to a wedding," Connor laughed as he displayed his magnificence. His skin was freed from the molten rocks and showed the reddish black flames in its entirety. He was a burning humanoid being with a sword on his hand and a staff that he use as a vehicle.
"You look like a god," Elliot chuckled.
"I know, right!" Connor cheered excitedly. "Who knew omniscience would give us these amazing—"
"God of idiots." Lance cut him off, laughing before raising his sword. "And you have to know, there are five of us."
"Of course, I know," Connor said. "That's why we're going to beat the hell out of this Angel and show him where he belongs."
"Is that so?" Bruno smirked. "Then I guess you wouldn't be scared if I also showed my true self."
Bruno removed his clothes and raised both of his hands to his side. He closed his eyes and seemed to pull something from a distant.
"What is happening?" Elliot asked. "He's morphing too? Is this omniscience?"
"Archangels cannot learn Omniscience," Barbara said. "It's a curse from the Foraken. They have vast amounts of magic and even skills to amplify it, but they cannot use magic such as Omniscience."
"What is he doing, then?" Lance asked. "He's like pulling something. Look at those strands. He's pulling something, but what?"
"Their bodies," Elliot whispered. "He's pulling the bodies of the twins."
"He's going to consume them," Barbara said. "He's gonna commit the greatest taboo in Heaven. Let's stop him!"
They all nodded and launched toward Bruno. The man sighed and created a shield made of stones around him, preventing them from advancing.
"Infernal Blazing Ring of Fire!" Connor cast, destroying the rocks and letting them through.
"What insolent brats," Bruno growled. He opened his eyes and created spears around him. The spears launched themselves towards the group who defended using Lance's swords.
"Their movements have been amplified tenfold," Trick said to Barbara. "Is this the true power of Omniscience? Who could have taught them this and how could they have moulded the skill to perfection?"
"The only person who can harness the powers of an individual like this is none other than the legendary Guard of the Forsaken," Barbara said. "I have read books and legends about her but I never would have thought that I could see her work with my own eyes. I have lived a fulfilling life I could say."
"You mean... her?" Trick asked with a gulp. "But she was dead a long time ago. How could this happen?"
"She wasn't dead as it seems," Barbara smirked. "She's very much alive."
-
"It seems like you taught them the power of Omniscience."
Trinidad stopped herself from tking another sip of her tea. She watched the man approach her, smirking as she reminisced on old memories. "You're still pretending to be a blacksmith?"
"I suppose I still am," the man laughed. "How about you? What are you still pretending to be?"
"Nobody," Trinidad said.
The man opened his mouth and was about to say something when a portal opened behind him. A large claw emerged from the portal and slashed forward.
