Chapter 565: Battle Against Bruno Part 2
Elliot was sure that he was going to defeat Bruno one way or another, but the fight has only been a couple of minutes long and his body was about to give up.
"Here," Barbara handed Elliot a small vial of a bluish green liquid. "It's a potion to restore some of your energy."
The boy thanked her and drank the potion, immediately feeling its effects on him. "This is amazing!"
"Hell is filled with surprises," Barbara said. She tapped her gauntlets together and grinned. "Now, it is time to continue the fight!"
The woman launched herself from the ground and slammed her gauntlets right at Bruno's shield. The man narrowed his eyes and smirked. "I never really thought that I'd get to fight Hell's champion. Poor thing though. I'm more powerful than you in every aspect."
"Oh, I know that," Barbara said. "But I'm not alone."
Lance and Elliot appeared on each side of Bruno. The man stepped back and created several layers of shield to protect him.
"Black and White Grand Pierce!"
"Enhanced Lotus Blast!"
Their attacks were aimed on each of Bruno's sides and they weren't able to deal much damage. The man sighed, then deactivated his shields so he could slam Lance on his guts and Elliot right on his chest. The two boys flew back and stumbled on the ground after being hit with powerful strikes.
Barbara growled and brawled with Bruno head-to-toe. She was using magic to enhance her gauntlets while Bruno fought barehand. Their strikes poured against each other in a match of fists, but the woman was losing.
With one single flick of his finger, Bruno decided the match with a powerful hit right on Barbara's head. The woman flipped backwards and was thrown away by the impact. She slammed her right hand to the ground and yelled, launching herself back at the archangel.
"What the hell are you doing?!" Bruno laughed. "You're losing and you're just trying to launch empty attacks at me. This is so desperate, Barbara."
Even when she was hit with multiple fists, Barbara remained standing and she was silent the whole time. She was focusing on defending her body with her magic, and she had no time to spare spewing words against her opponent.
"Your talent is very impressive, Barbara." Bruno said. "You are able to enhance your body and your weapon using your magic and even stand after being hit by so many strikes from me. A normal fighter would disintegrate after being hit by one of my attacks, but you are still here, still fighting."
The woman was silent which irked Bruno. "Speak to me, Barbara! Speak!"
"No," Barbara said, curling her body. "I'm busy buying time."
"I already know that." Bruno kicked Barbara away and held her hands to the side. "The duo returned."
Elliot and Lance appeared, both with weapons that were charged with power. They fired one strike that covered the entire field with burst of magic, but Bruno smirked before he was engulfed by their attacks.
When they successfully launched their attacks, Elliot and Lance stepped back. They were panting as they waited for the dust to clear. They weren't able to know the amount of damage they were able to deal against Bruno, but they hoped they did something.
"Your attacks are flashy and they require too much attention," Bruno said. He flicked his arms open, clearing the dust with a gust of wind he created from his action. "You are all flies that are weak and pathetic."
"Warrior Spirit!" Barbara appeared behind Bruno. The man sighed and stepped to the side, causing the woman to miss her punch. When her body passed Bruno, Barbara slammed her left foot on the ground and swung her other leg.
"Still not much," Bruno raised a hand to block the attack. He sighed and gripped Barbara's leg. "The Hell's Warrior is an ant!"
He raised Barbara and slammed her repeatedly on the ground. Elliot and Lance could only watch as their ally was thrown around like a ragdoll. Her body was still coated with her slightly green aura, so they know that she wasn't hurting. She covered her body with a shield that envelops her, so it was fine.
When Bruno was done with her, he threw her away. He did not hide the anger in his face, but there was also a hint of amusement.
"That was a pathetic attempt!" Bruno yelled and laughed. He placed his hands together and charged great amounts of magic between his hands. "Ageing Stones!"
He was looking around and saw Connor hovering in the sky. "I'll start with you!"
Bruno pointed his hands at Connor and created several sharp stones that were shaped like spears. The spears had glowing runes around them. This meant that the spears were imbued with magic and had attack effects on them. Defending against it might only be futile.
"Connor, watch out!" Elliot yelled. His sword glowed with the bright pink light and he slashed the eight petals and the exploding flower in under a second.
Bruno laughed and blocked the attacks with one of the spears. "That was your way of saving your friend? That was so pathetic."
Bruno launched all of the spears at Connor, laughing as he saw the struggle of Elliot's group in order to save their friend. The spears surrounded Connor who looked pale after being surrounded by so many attacks.
"Now, die!" Bruno closed his palm and the spears launched towards the man.
Splat!
Bruno's eyes widened in shock. Connor suddenly vanished. "What?!"
"Infernal…"
Bruno was not able to see it coming. Connor was pointing his sword at him and was charging his magic. "Ring of Fire!"
Bruno looked up to see Connor there. "Impossible!"
The large flow of flames poured down towards Bruno. The man was screaming as the bright light slowly reached him. There was no way out of the attack. He was being burned and he had no way of defending himself.
"No!"
Bruno yelled and forced a powerful white flames out of his body. He ejected the flames and it swallowed over the blue ones that Connor fired at him. "This is not the end of me! I refuse to be defeated by such maggots!"
Connor hovered behind Elliot as they prepared to fight Bruno. The archangel was hurt badly and he was now going to take them down no matter what it takes.
"Did I even hurt him?" Connor asked. "I was charging that attack for over five minutes. Good thing I used that trick blanket that Trick gave me."
"You were able to almost kill him." Barbara clenched her fists together. "That is why he is angry. Now we have to prepare for the real fight because Bruno will not back down. He will kill us with everything he has."
"We're not backing down either," Elliot said. "We are going to fight!"
"Fight with what?" Bruno appeared behind them. He was laughing as he held a large sword in his hand. "You lost."
"Finally, it is complete."
Bruno suddenly heard Trick say. His eyes widened after he saw the entire world stop moving. "What?"
"It was so hard to do this because it required so much power from me, but then now I have you."
