Chapter 555: Bruno
Elliot watched as Trick stopped moving. The man stared at the ground for a couple of seconds before he snapped back into reality.
"I was played," Trick said. "Bruno seemed persuasive, and I allowed myself to be toyed by him. That man is a menace."
"That's not all," Strong said. "Bruno... He—"
Before Strong could even continue, he fell to the ground with his face facing the floor. Elliot watched the blood flow from the deep cuts on Strong's back. He fought someone and lost heavily.
"It seems like everyone betrayed me."
Their heads turned to the source of the voice. Malice stood there, eyes bloodshot with anger and aura boiling like the magma on a volcano that was about to erupt. She was angry, and she wasn't hiding it.
"My queen." Bruno appeared beside her. "I am afraid that all Vassals apart from me have betrayed you. Even Trick, your most loyal servant."
"Bruno, you're the traitor here!" Trick yelled. "So, that was why it was you who asked me to meet up with them. You didn't go because you have another plan in mind— and that was to betray me."
"I never betrayed you," Bruno said, holding his chest dramatically. "It was you who acted on your own volition. It was your free will to betray the queen."
"I'm going to kill you," Trick yelled. He jumped and brandished his sword. He spun and was about to launch himself for an attack when Irus stopped him. The Behemoth held Trick's sword and shook his head.
"You cannot beat him," Irus said. They both landed on the ground. "Queen Malice. I admired you from down below, but I don't think that I will want to face you right now."
Malice smirked. "And why is that, Behemoth?"
"I'm afraid I cannot say," Irus laughed. "Hansel and Gretel were in on it, huh?"
Bruno smirked. "They're a valuable for me. You of all people should have seen that."
"I'm afraid I was blind. It's been so long since I've seen Hell's Court that I did not realize anything was up," Irus said. "But, at least now I know and I don't need to tell her specifically. I just have to tell them."
"I'm afraid you cannot leave this castle alive," Bruno laughed. "I have deactivated all magic inside the castle. It's not even a hard time doing so. I just needed Hansel."
"I'm afraid your anti-magic can be countered by the same type," Irus nodded at Ed who brandished his sword. He swung it and surged a flow of dark purple flames that created a ring around them. "Goodbye, Bruno. I can't even say your real name, but goodbye."
Irus snapped his fingers and the group immediately vanished. Malice's eyes widened and she turned to face Bruno. "What? Where are they? Why did you let them leave?"
"I have to, your majesty," Bruno bowed slightly. "Irus is a powerful Behemoth. His brothers may not be here, but it would be too dangerous for us to fight him. We need to catch him in a trap."
"I'm the Queen of Hell!" Malice yelled. "Why did you not do as I said, servant?"
Bruno glared at Malice and threw a punch right to her stomach. The woman coughed out blood and was blown away by the impact. Malice crahsed to several walls before she stopped on a brick wall and fell to the ground.
"Listen here, you little vermin," Bruno growled. "You are my servant now. You don't have to order me around anymore. You're such a bitch."
Bruno raised his hand and was about to slap Malice when Hansel arrived. She kneeled in front of Bruno, "Your Power, I am here to report about he condition of your brother."
"He's still alive?" Bruno laughed. "Good thing I created a clone of the both you and Trick seemed to be so convinced that he didn't even question me. Even the Behemoth, Irus, was convinced too. So pathetic."
"Your Power, I am here to report about the condition of your brother and this matter is urgent," Gretel arrived right behind her brother. "Oh, you're already here."
"What happened to him?" Bruno asked. "Where is he right now? Still on Terra?"
"He is still on Terra, Your Power," Hansel said. "After their battle, he was left with nothing but his arm but he was able to compress his entire being on his arm."
"He's recovering right now!" Gretel interjected. Bruno smirked and shook his head. "I'm right too. He's slowly regaining his power. And without the powerhouses on Terra, he will rule the realm if we are able to lock the Terrans here."
"Hansel, send a clone and guide him to the Kings," Bruno ordered. "If he takes their powers, he will rule Terra soon."
"But Your Power..." Hansel looked down, afraid of the next words that would come out of his mouth would upset the man. "The Five Kings have been... absorbed. They are no more."
For a split second, Bruno unleashed a powerful force that erupted throughout the realms. His eyes widened and his fists were clenched. "What?! The Five Kings have been what?!"
"The Behemoths took their powers," Hansel said. "Gretel, you can insert yourself to this conversation, you know."
Gretel shook her head and smirked. "This is all on you."
"Find them!" Bruno yelled. "It's no use trying to hold these people here. Find them and tell me where they are. I will personally kill them."
–
"You have got to be kidding me."
Elliot was surprised when he heard the news from Irus. The Behemoth sighed and held his face in distraught. He was scared that he would be cursed, so he did not want to tell Malice.
"I am bound to a curse if I speak to anyone of this, so I talked to you through our link," Irus said. "Now, it is your turn to tell them."
Elliot faced his friends and allies. He took a deep breath before speaking. "Among the realms, Heaven has the highest power in terms of strength and even advancement of civilization. They have the Archangels who are the most powerful beings in their realm."
"Oh, god, I think I know where this is going," Connor groaned. "Elliot, just tell us straight. Is Bruno an Archangel?"
Elliot did not hesitate and nodded. "He is known as Sariel, the fifth Archangel that was lost in time. Turns out, he was just here. Hanseld and Gretel are his childhood friends and the part of his court. They are also high ranking Angels. Hansel has the same power as Ed, anti-magic while Gretel's powers are still unknown but she's able to use Sariel's curse to bind Irus from talking."
"If Bruno is indeed an Archangel, then we can just beat him too. Uriel wasn't as strong when we fought him," Ed said. "Right?"
"That would be true if we also fought Sariel's arm," Irus said. "Bruno has long since gathered up his powers and is as powerful as he used to be. We cannot survive a battle against him. He is far too powerful."
"Even for you?" Elliot asked.
"Especially for me," Irus sighed. "The Archangels, although we outnumber them, are still more powerful than us. It's impossible to beat them."
