Chapter 545: Mysterious Behemoth
"The reason why I couldn't understand how all of your mana appears at all times but has focused only on certain areas and then instantly moves to the next," Elliot grinned. "You spread your mana all throughout your body and then you move a portion of it to a focused part when you move."
The Behemoth was taken aback. He was scared because Elliot figured it out faster than he thought the boy could. It vanished from where he stood and appeared behind Elliot. The boy didn't have enough time to react when the Behemoth launched its attack.
"You may have figured out how it works, but you will never train yourself enough to defeat me!" the Behemoth yelled and slashed his sword forward.
Elliot was able to block the attack but he didn't get to prepare for the powerful strike that came after. He grit his teeth and raised his own sword as the Behemoth sent him flying.
"Damn it!" Elliot groaned when he landed on the ground. When he looked up, the Behemoth was gone. This made him panic for a moment before he felt fear run throughout his body.
The Behemoth was already behind him.
"You're too young to realize how weak you are," the Behemoth raised his sword. "But now know how far you are from the battle that you want to enter. The Forsaken will turn you into a pulp before you can even take a breath, twerp."
The Behemoth had already won over Elliot. It dominated the match before it even began. Elliot has seen the huge gap in their powers. It was so immense that it humbled him to the ground. Although he became the powerful Elliot Max now, he was still far from the truth.
And if he wanted to defeat the Forsaken and all the other enemies that will come his way, he has to step up. Getting stronger is not his goal anymore. He now aims to become the strongest.
When the Behemoth struck its sword, Elliot clenched his own sword and yelled. "Hasty Aspire!"
He slammed both of his feet from the ground and launched himself up with his sword held tightly in his hands. He passed through the Behemoth's head, slashing through its flesh and skull. He was grinning when he reached the sky and slowly fell, seeing the blood spilled everywhere as the Behemoth's head rolled on the ground. Its body fell down not long after.
When Elliot crashed to the ground, he was panting heavily. This Behemoth wasn't as different as Death. They both have the same level of powers and if Elliot had to solo Death in a full battle, he wouldn't have won.
"This is interesting," Elliot chuckled. He sat up and watched his friends take down the Behemoths one by one. Lance bore holes in his opponent's body while Connor burned his enemy to crisp. Ed cut his enemy in half while Hope was still fighting his enemy.
In his half Draconian form, he was bulky and his speed and attack immensely decreased. He could keep up with the fight against his enemy, but he was doing little to no damage against it.
"Hope, turn into a dragon," Elliot said. "You're a tank in that form while in your dragon form, you're a gigantic beast that could wreck havoc anywhere."
Hope heard this and nodded at the man. He threw his weapons away, making his opponent Behemoth grin with pride. "Are you going to surrender now?"
Hope did not answer. Instead, he grit his teeth and immediately morphed into a full dragon. The Behemoth gulped as it watched the gigantic creature manifest right before its eyes. It was a horrifying thing for Hope's enemy.
"W-What?!" the Behemoth gasped. "Impossible, but you were human! Ugh, whatever."
It spun its spear and took a few steps back to distance itself from Hope who was now a giant dragon. The grey dragon loomed over the Behemoth, circling around it and grinning as it felt the wavering feeling of the Behemoth.
"I'm not scared of this," the Behemoth grinned at itself and raised its spear. "Brooding Strength!"
The spear was struck was lightning from nowhere and the power that came from the lighting traveled throughout the man's body. He was laughing as he felt the power seep into his veins, making him more powerful than before.
"This is interesting to watch," Connor said as he sat beside Elliot. "My enemy was burned because it didn't try to stop me from attacking. Their ego will kill them and I can see that in this fight."
"True," Ed agreed. "We were clashing swords when I struck his side. He said it was okay but then I increased the size of my sword. It cut it in half and then its pride and ego had vanished along with its life."
"They are quite powerful, so we are lucky they are cocky," Lance sighed. "If not, then it would have been the death of us."
Elliot was silent as he watched Hope fight his enemy. He was yet to tell his friends about his discovery because he wanted to say it when everyone was around. It would be better so no one gets left behind, especially at a crucial time like this one where they need to improve their powers.
"You know, there is one thing that keeps bugging me," the Behemoth's said as it watched Hope circle around it. It tried to attack the dragon, but its attack was repelled by the dragon's almost invincible scales. "You're a dragon but you act like a human. What really are you?"
"I don't need to answer that question," Hope responded. "I do not owe anything from you, so you just have to prepare for your imminent death instead of asking me things."
"Imminent death," the Behemoth shook its head. "I don't have to argue with you but let me tell you a piece of information. You can answer my question after if you want."
Hope kept circling the Behemoth. It was irking him, but he continued to speak, "Alright. Let me tell you about the Guards that had all of the glory. A lot of them are actually quite weak compared to us members of the Sacred Path. They were just chosen by the Forsaken because he needed people to become figures of power.
Of course they got stronger through his gifts of power, but if you let me fight Death, then I would've beaten him to death."
"I don't believe you," Hope said. "Death was a powerful foe and someone like you could have no match against him."
"Oh, someone like me?" the Behemoth grinned. "You really think that I am just a nobody, huh?"
Hope felt a surge of power in the Behemoth's body. He gulped and flew several hundred meters away to be sure. The Behemoth was laughing as it burst in flames. "Let me show you what I can do."
It gripped its spear and raised it. The Behemoth then spun the spear and fired several attacks at Hope. The attacks were so powerful that they were able to crack the scales of the dragon, the man laughing at this. Hope couldn't get a grip and had lost his consciousness. When he was about to throw his spear, four blinks of light appeared in front of him, all of them manifested into people.
"What do you think you're doing to our friend?" Elliot spewed the question with anger in his eyes.
