Chapter 521: Leading the Azure King Out
Blood was spilled on the ground followed by a series of gasps. Death looked to the side as he watched his arm roll before being crushed by a giant sword. That seemed to pierce the very space from which it was coming out of.
"Reality Obstruction deactivated," Leviathan yelled from somewhere.
It was as if there was a giant blanket that was lifted off from the area and it showed what was really going on outside.
There was nothing but destruction. The Azure King was released from his Palace as it was screaming.
"Hasty Aspire!" Elliot appeared right in front of the now unconscious Midnight and took him away.
"What is happening?" Galaxia asked Elliot when the latter handed him Midnight.
"Leviathan cast that huge blanket thing around you," Elliot said.
–
"Well done," the Azure King spoke, shocking everyone in the throne room. "No human has made it this far."
Nothing in the Azure King was moving apart from his pupils. Even when he talked, his mouth remained shut in a flat expression. This alone made the Adventurers raise their guards up.
"You can talk?" Elliot gasped. "So you understand human language?"
"I have been sitting here for millennia, waiting for the right people to come and fight me," the Azure King said. "This is the first time that I encountered such strength in humans."
"Could you then listen to us?" Frederick narrowed his eyes in suspicion. "If you can talk, then you can understand us, right?"
"Well done," the Azure King spoke, once again ignoring them. "No human has made it this far. I have been sitting here for millennia…"
"So, this is like a pre-recorded voice message," Frederick sighed. "I don't think it's useful if we try and talk to it."
"Do we have to fight it instead?" Luck asked, holding the handle of his sword to prepare. "Because I would gladly fight it."
"Fighting it would be useless if it's that powerful," Frederick said. "We won't stand a chance."
Lance hummed, "Then how will we retrieve the Excalibur?"
"Wait, where is it?" Connor asked in horror as he watched the empty throne. "I swear it was there just a moment ago."
"Well done," the voice spoke from above them. They looked up in horror as they saw the Azure King raise his sword. "No human has made it this far."
The movement was swift, but it was avoidable. The Adventurers managed to roll and jump to the side before the sword could crush their entire existence.
As the Azure King stood, its height became clear. It stood fifty meters high and the sword was almost the same length as its entire body.
"Even with its size, it can move like that?" Elliot gasped. "How is that even possible?"
"We may be facing our greatest enemy yet," Frederick said. "It's more powerful than Death by about ten times."
"Well done," the Azure King spoke again. "No human has made it this far."
It vanished again and once again reappeared where they were as it swung its sword that caused nothing but destruction in its wake. The throne room was crumbling by how much the King and the Kingsguards were fighting.
"This isn't safe now," Irus said. "We have to leave or else we'll get crushed by the debris."
It was at that moment that they felt the surge of terrifying aura from outside. The series of the explosive Black aura was terrifying even when they were at a distance.
"Was that Midnight?" Ed asked. "It is Midnight and he's fighting–"
"Death," everyone chorused.
They looked at each other and decided with unspoken words. They were going to lead the Azure King and the Kingsguards outside.
"What is the plan, Freddie?" Luck asked. He blew a gust of explosive winds that tore the door to the throne room down.
The Azure King lowered its sword. "Well done. No human has made it this far."
"It's going to attack again, everyone be careful!" Frederick yelled.
"Well, leading it outside would seem easier than expected," Luck chuckled but instantly regretted not paying attention to his surroundings.
The sword was swinging right beside him, and if it wasn't for his last minute whistle, he would've perished.
"Hymn of Protection!"
A gust of wind formed a sphere around Luck. This sphere was the one that protected him from the attack. Instead of his organs gushing out from the impact, Luck was thrown to the side like a hamster inside its ball.
"Well deserved," Frederick chuckled. "If you would have paid attention, that wouldn't have happened."
Right when they got to the front door of the Palace, Leviathan just finished his skill. He took a deep breath as he wiped the sweat on his forehead. "Just in time."
"What is that?" Elliot asked as he watched the giant blanket that covered the Azure Palace courtyard like a blanket covering a ball.
"Reality Obstruction," Leviathan said. "While Death was busy getting beaten up by Midnight, I casted this skill and let Irus handle the Kingsguard that I was supposed to keep busy."
"Irus could handle two of them?" Elliot's eyes widened as he looked at the Behemoth who only shrugged at him.
"This will prevent Death to notice the Azure King coming," Leviathan said. "This way, they will have to fight each other instead. After their battle, we will target the one who was left. Their strength will be greatly reduced after this fight so we have a greater chance of winning."
"It's coming," Frederick cut their conversations short. "The Azure King will finally see the outside world for the first time in a few thousand years."
"Well done," the Azure King spoke. He was now dragging his sword on the ground as he walked towards them, his aura more menacing than when they were at its throne room. "No human has made it this far."
The Adventurers split up as the King approached them. It swung its sword that would hit the Reality Obstruction spell that Leviathan cast, but Luck was there to defend it. The man whistled loudly, this time the air that he cast was visible with a light green tint.
"Blade of Melodus, God of Harmony."
The blade's size was increased tenfold after the aura wrapped itself around it. It was no way near the current size of the Excalibur, but it was powerful enough to stop the attack before it could reach the giant blanket.
"Wow," Elliot awed as he watched Luck force the Excalibur away. "Damn. That was good."
"Was Luck always this strong?" Elliot asked, turning to the red-haired guild master for an answer. "I never knew."
Frederick was silent as he watched Luck in the air, continuing his battle with the Azure King. Luck managed to swerve the Excalibur away, unintentionally throwing it in the direction of the Palace which instantly crumbled.
"You are powerful," the Azure King spoke, but it was a different line this time. "But only the Abyss can rule. Light will crumble and chaos will prevail. Despair will root and lives will be lost."
The Azure King held its sword with both of its hands and raised it above it. "Perish."
"Altar of Madness."
"Anthem of Blood."
"Thorns of Evervyne."
"Destroyer of Worlds."
