Chapter 520: Millennium Prison
"Millennium Prison."
The ground shook aggressively as four giant chains erupted from it. Midnight was held on all of his limbs by the gigantic chains, each wrapping themselves on his wrists and ankles.
"The Forsaken has always been paranoid, that's not news," Death said. "That is why he had given us the power to seal him in case he loses control."
"Midnight!" Galaxia yelled as he tried to fly and reach Midnight. He was stopped midair when a surge of force distorted his magic, making him lose his mana and unable to recover them.
"I just lost all my mana," Sun said. "What magic is this?"
"The Millennium Prison disables all magic around it," Death said as he slowly descended. "The Forsaken thought of this too. He thinks that he would control another person to break him free instead, that was why he added this."
"That is just messed up," Hope gritted his teeth and held his sword. He charged toward Death. "Release him now!"
Death easily dodged the attack. He pivoted to the side, just mere inches beside Hope and he slammed his foot on the latter's back, kicking him to the ground. "Once the spell is cast, there is no stopping it. This is so powerful because the Forsaken added a condition, it can only be activated against him. If it was cast onto someone else, Millennium Prison will not work."
Midnight was gasping for air from the chains that slowly slithered towards his torso when he heard this. He grinned then used all of the energy he could muster to cast another skill. "Black Morph–"
The rest of his words were silenced after he was swallowed entirely by the chains. Galaxia fell to his knees after he saw the chains restrict themselves, forming into a ball that got smaller and smaller.
"Midnight?" Galaxia called out. "M-Midnight my love?"
There was only silence. The only sound that would be heard was the constant rumbling of the inside of the Palace and the metal chains restricting itself.
"I told you," Death smirked. "He is sealed forever. Gone–"
The chains cracked and shattered. A dark black light exploded from the inside and a man revealed himself. Six black wings that were made of a shiny type of skin, all shaped like boomerangs.
His arms were modified human arms. From the forelimb, it was humanoid but black in color. Feathers decorated his elbow which led to an arm that was three times the length of a normal arm. His nails were long and sharp, looking like small swords.
There was a pair of giant hands that wrapped on either side of his body. The thumb would come from the back and curled to his shoulders, while the rest, except for the pinky, would wrap themselves loosely on the side of his body, showing his sculptured abs and chest.
Both of the pinky fingers were crossed in front of his crotch, covering the area. The long nails would extend to his upper thigh that almost pierced his skin.
His legs were like his arms. From his knee, down were modified human limbs with metal-like feathers adorning them down to the talon-like claws of his feet.
His long hair levitated. The white hair stood from the roots to the tip where a halo was encircling the upper part of the hair. His face had a still expression as if he was a stone statue. There was a crack from his chin up to his right eye which had a white pupil compared to the other which was pitch black.
Midnight stood in the air, watching over them. "Armageddon."
Death was shocked to his core. He watched the man stare at him, feeling something that he thought he would never feel in his lifetime.
He was scared.
"That thing…" Death trailed off. "How can I win against that thing?"
Midnight launched himself from the air and slammed his elongated fist right on Death's face. The movement was instantaneous that nobody saw it coming.
"Die!" Midnight yelled.
Another punch was incoming, but Death blocked it by crossing his arms in front of his face. Instead, he was blown away by his feet being dragged to the ground.
"This is ridiculous," Death smirked. "Why did I get scared?"
He took a deep breath and regained his composure. He stretched for a second and cracked his neck before he smirked and raised a finger in front of him. "I am the strongest of the Forsaken's Guards. How can I lose to a mere human?!"
Death fired a deadly bullet made of pure dark matter. "Disintegrate."
The bullet was fired with a loud explosion but as it got closer to Midnight, it also seemed to get slower. Death narrowed his eyes as his suspicion was correct.
A few inches from Midnight, the bullet stopped. Midnight smirked and took the bullet with his bare hands and blew on it, making it disappear into oblivion.
"What is this?" Death stuttered. He took a step back but once again, regained his composure. "No. You are nothing."
He flexed his arms out and created more bullets. "Disintegrate: Infinity!"
A rain of the black bullet was launched, but Midnight wasn't moving. He stood still as he waited for the bullets, the same thing happening to the one before. They all stop before they could reach him. This time, he flapped the largest wing on his back and all the bullets vanished.
"Was that all?" Midnight asked. "I can say that I am fairly disappointed with you."
"Why you little," Death ran towards Midnight and raised a fist as he approached the man. He tried to send the punch, but he was the one who was sent flying in the air.
Midnight then reached him, appearing behind the Guard only to throw an attack using his elongated arms. He intertwined his fingers and used them to slam Death to the ground.
He followed Death, raising both of his arms together, and started spinning as he descended from the air.
Death could only watch as Midnight formed a spearhead with his body, spinning fast and descending faster.
"Is this my end?" Death asked himself as he closed his eyes.
He waited for a couple of seconds. He waited more until the attack never came.
When he opened his eyes, he saw Midnight in the air, suspended and screaming. The man was coughing out blood as his eyes bled.
"Midnight?" Galaxia called out. "What is happening?"
"His body cannot handle the cells," Sun said, horrified after he just saw his brother's wings pull themselves out of his back.
Midnight was flightless. As he continued screaming, he fell to the ground.
Galaxia threw all of his weapons and ran towards Midnight, jumping from the ground and catching the latter. "What is happening?" Galaxia asked.
"Pain," Midnight whispered. "I feel pain."
When they got to the ground, Midnight pushed Galaxia. He took a couple of steps away before he fell to his knees and looked at the skies.
"Please make it stop," Midnight whispered.
"With pleasure," Death walked up to him and conjured a black sword. He raised the weapon above his head as he continued walking. "You are a dangerous being. You don't deserve to live."
