I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 510: The Promise

The war against Paphet was finally over.

Irus turned to look at Mammon who was now carrying Arthur. "This man is not from this era."

"You mean he belongs to the past?" Mammon asked. "You mean he was under a spell similar to Lance's mother?"

"Yes," Irus sighed. "Now we have to talk to the Terrans. He is their hero after all."

The three Behemoths got back to Terra where everyone was anxiously waiting for their return. It was indeed a terrifying aura that the Forsaken had because even when they were not in the realm that Irus owned, they could still feel it.

"You're back," Madam Locraine touched her chest in relief after seeing Irus in one piece. "I was so worried about you."

"You knew I could handle it," Irus smirked. "Have you lost your trust in me?"

Madam Locraine wrapped Irus in her arms. "Of course, not. I know you better than anyone, after all."

"Did you only knock out Legion?" Elliot asked. "Why is he still here?"

"Legion is actually a sub-Vassal that another Vassal used," Mammon said. "Basically, this person is Terran and his body was used as the vessel for the three hundred Paragon souls."

"So, it's safe to say that Legion was a Vassal that they intended to create a synthetic Forsaken," Irus added. "His sole purpose was to create that Forsaken."

"But what do they wish to achieve by doing that?" Frederick asked. "I don't mean to sound bold, but I feel like they want to destroy your realm so bad."

Irus chuckled and sighed. "They do."

"And why is that, Irus?" Elliot asked. "What's their issue with your realm?"

"By creating a realm of my own, I made a bold statement," Irus said. "Although I did not explicitly say it, this action is saying something else."

"And what would that statement be?" Elliot asked.

Irus took a long dramatic pause before he grinned, "That I want to take part as one of the Candidates for the Absolutehood."

A couple of hours after Irus's bold statement, they were resting in a field of grass. They camped there and decided to rest for the whole day after the fights.

Irus was standing right by a tree near the forest and near their camp when Elliot approached him.

"Are you really going to take part?" Elliot asked. "You never told me."

"It's a decision I made just after I spoke with Death," Irus said. "I have never thought of it that way. You know how I only made that realm because I want my mother to live a comfortable and safe life."

"And what do you wish to achieve after becoming an Absolute?" Elliot asked. "I'm sure there must be a reason."

"Let me tell you a story," Irus said.

A long time ago, in the realm where the strong would rule and the weak would get trampled upon, seven children lived in an alley.

They didn't know where they come from or how they grew up. As far as they can remember, they have lived in the alley ever since.

The eldest of the siblings was a woman and she was the one who would plan their meals. They would steal food from the market, money from people, and even collect leftovers from the garbage.

Each and every single day they were hungry. They could barely eat once a day and would often sleep the hunger away, hoping that tomorrow would be a better day.

Their lives were miserable and everyday was filled with despair and sorrow, but at least they had each other and that was the most important thing for them.

That was until one of the siblings accidentally made a wrong move and he stole from the castle. When the king knew of this, he immediately arrived at the scene, gasping after seeing the mark on the child's back.

"This is my child," the king yelled. "My child, where are your siblings?"

The young boy thought that their lives would get better after they found their father, but he was completely wrong.

Training after training, blood after blood. That was the life for them inside the castle. They were trained at such young ages, trained to become the powerful fighters their father wanted them to be.

Every single day they would suffer from wounds and bruises. They could eat three times in a day, but the physical torture they encountered was far from the pain of the hunger they felt before.

But then again, at least they have each other. And that was the most important thing of all.

The young child with the mark on his back grew up to be the most powerful soldier in the king's army. He was known as the one who could annihilate every single enemy he encounters because of the powers that he possessed. He was called the Disaster.

Irus turned and pulled his shirt off of his body. There, a mark of a demon was in his back. It was a demon's head with three horns in its head, one of the horns was broken.

"I am that young boy," Irus said."

"Wow," Elliot whispered after he finished listening to Irus. "So, I think I know what you want to do after you become an Absolute. After all that you've been through, I cannot blame you if you want them back."

"I want to see them again. The faces that I always knew, even if it's just once," Irus said. "Even if they want to destroy all worlds, I will be with them."

"Then I will help you," Elliot said. "You know that I have the Manual. I have limitless power once I fully harnessed it."

"You will?" Irus scrunched his face. "But I just told you. Even if they go berserk, I will still help them."

"If that happens, then I won't hesitate to cut all of your heads off," Elliot said sternly. He offered his fist at Irus. "This is a promise."

The Behemoth was silent for a moment before he too nodded and fistbumped Elliot. "When that happens, then we will fight to the death."

The door to the throne room opened and Bruno led Paphet inside. There weren't anyone there except for them, which made the latter fear even more. It did not add to his relief how awful the aura Malice exuded.

"Are you sure that she's not mad?" Paphet asked. "This aura. This is when she starts to kill people.

"Oh, she's furious," Bruno chuckled. "But just listen to her. I swear she won't kill you. I won't let her."

"Thank you, Bruno," Paphet smiled at the other Vassal and took a deep breath to face Malice.

"I let Legion come with them but what happened?" Malice growled before Paphet could even say anything. "Three of my Vassals, including Legion died."

"Malice, please I can explain–"

Paphet coughed blood as he fell to his knees. All of his hearts were taken by the Vassal behind him.

"Y-You said you wouldn't let her kill me," Paphet asked. "Bruno, why?"

"She did not kill you, didn't she," Bruno grinned. "I killed you, Paphet. I hope you know that."

"Now four of my Vassals are dead," Malice sighed. "Oh, what shall we do?"

The woman fired a blazing ball of flames to Paphet's body, burning it until nothing was left. "What do we do?"
