Chapter 507: Devour
Elliot and the rest of the Terrans watched in shock as Bruno mercilessly shattered Avery and Pixie. He used a long pair of claws that was made of dark matter. They grew from a magic circle on his back and he crushed the stone Vassals like they were nothing.
"Now, this is what I meant by killing you," Bruno said. "The Paragons did enhance my power. I can take on that–"
"Hasty Aspire!" Elliot screamed as his fist collided with Bruno's jaw.
Everyone gasped in surprise and glee after they saw Bruno get sent away by the power of the fist.
"They wanted to live!" Elliot screamed. "They wanted to live yet you killed them just like that. You're a vile creature. You're much worse than the monsters in the Abyss."
"I am?" Bruno smirked. "I guess, I am. But those things do not concern me at all. I have maintained my status as the strongest Vassal of Queen Malice. I am here to serve her with all my might and power."
"Yeah, too much talking," Lance appeared in front of Bruno and crossed his swords. "Dual Dance of Black and White Blades."
His swords were like a black and white sphere by how fast his slashes were. Their swift movements' aftermath created the spherical symbol that enclosed Bruno inside.
"What moves," Bruno had trouble talking as he took all the blows that Lance sent his way.
With one final thrust of both of his swords, Lance blew Bruno away.
The Vassal crashed into the ground, creating a large hole from the impact. Elliot, Lance, Frederick, and Luck stood around the hole, all pointing at the man who had his eyes wide open in shock.
"Do not underestimate Terrans ever again," Lance said. "You don't know how powerful we are if we put our mind to it."
"Then what can you do about the Forsaken?" Bruno leaned his head back so he can point at the floating altar that Legion created. "How will you deal with this problem?"
They looked up and wondered what took the Behemoths too long, only to get shocked at the sight that unfolded in front of them. There was an Armageddon, but it was three times the size the other Vassals created before.
"That power," Elliot whispered. "You didn't kill them. You sacrificed them so you can create this Armageddon!"
"Bingo," Bruno grinned and he suddenly exploded into a burst of harmless confetti. He reappeared above them with a wide grin on his face. "I really don't like fighting, but you guys gave me a thrill that I never felt in a very long time."
"Get back here!" Lance yelled, but he was stopped by Frederick.
"I don't know what got you blinded, but could you feel the immense aura around that man?" Frederick asked. "He's not something we can fight at the moment. Our magic has depleted from fighting the other Vassals.
"Yeah, listen to him," Bruno said. "I just tested you before. If I could try getting more serious, I would've killed you all here."
Elliot didn't say anything. He was frozen in place. The aura that Bruno exuded was in a similar level to the Man, but even more terrifying.
While the Man had aura scattered across the entire area, suffocating everyone inside, Bruno had a calm and serene aura that could fool you into a soothing sensation. If it wasn't dark and ominous, then the aura would lull anyone to sleep.
"There are more where I came from," Bruno said. "If you could meet the others for tea, that would be very lovely. But until then, I'm going to go."
In a flash, Bruno vanished just like that. He didn't leave a single trace of his magic or even a tiny ounce of it.
"He was serious, then he was playful," Luck sighed. "Must be because of those Paragons they absorbed. Just like Legion, the thoughts and emotions must've affected them somehow."
"Bruno is the least of our worries right now," Frederick pointed at the Deathly Princes and Sin who were currently battling the Armageddon.
This one was much larger than the one Irus destroyed and its power was more than tenfold of the other. This was what the Vassals get for sacrificing three of their members, a destructive creature that can wipe anything in its path.
"Distract it for me," Leviathan ordered. "I will eat it."
"This is an Armageddon," Irus said. "Its power can wipe out half of a realm with how powerful this one is. Can you do it?"
Leviathan sighed. "Just do what I said."
The others had no choice but to nod. Irus fired powerful and gigantic balls of energy at the Armageddon, but it only created small scratches on its thick and almost indestructible skin.
On the other hand, Mammon and Saitan performed different skills and tried to penetrate the skin as much as they could. Leviathan only ordered them to distract it, but they couldn't possibly just let it go unharmed. They wanted to hurt it even when it seemed impossible in their current situation.
"I'm not even scratching it," Mammon scoffed. "This is so frustrating."
"I'm barely hurting it too," Saitan said. "Maybe we need more power."
"We're only here to distract it," Irus reminded them. "Remember, this isn't the only enemy we have right now."
"We don't really listen to him," Saitan snickered. "Come on, Mammon. Let's show this beast who're the bosses."
"Right," Mammon nodded vigorously and followed Saitan above the Armageddon's head. They charged themselves with energy and fired powerful attacks right on the Armageddon's skin.
Their attacks created a huge cloud of the explosion, but when it cleared, they saw that they barely grazed it. The Armageddon was just too powerful for them.
"Is this even possible?" Saitan scoffed. "That was one of my most powerful attacks, but it barely did anything to it."
"Did we get that weak?" Mammon asked.
"You dumb little f*ckers," Leviathan sighed. "You don't really listen, don't you? I told you only to distract it because this type of Armageddon has magic resistance."
"Oh," the Princes formed Os with their mouths. They looked at each other and chuckled to themselves.
But for the ones below, that wasn't a laughing matter. What they showed earlier was a testament to how powerful they are. The Armageddon resisted attacks, but they were still able to hurt it. Their power was very powerful and that's not a question.
"Alright," Leviathan sighed. "Get away. I'm going to start."
His brothers hovered further from where he was as he raised both of his hands in front of him and formed a triangle with his hands.
"He's going to do it," Saitan cheered. "I can't wait. The only time I saw this was when he ate his friend when they were little."
"I don't think I know what happened," Irus said. "Do you mind telling me what happened?"
"This is his most powerful attack," Mammon said. Moonlight Altar, the devourer of worlds."
"Moonlight Altar," Leviathan conjured a circular stone tablet that had a rock arch in the middle. He raised his right hand as symbols of blood were engraved on the stone tablet.
Eight circles appeared on the edge of the stone tablet. The circles connected themselves to the arch through lines of blood where the blood traveled up and into the center of the upper part of the arch where it formed a crescent moon.
"Altar, I offer you my sacrifice," Leviathan said. "Devour."
