I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 489: Trapped

"Maybe because these Kings and the beasts from the Palace absorbed the power from the Deathly Sins," Irus said as he arrived along with the other demons.

Elliot kept hiding behind the wall of the gate but Mammon landing in front of him and dragging him out made him realize that they were aware of his presence all this time.

"But the King has Terran origin," Daniel spoke softly. "Could it be that the Kings had long since lost their humanity?"

"Isn't that obvious though?" Leviathan scrunched his face and sighed. "You're overlooking everything, Daniel. Relax."

"It's just…" Daniel paused. "I don't know what to do with demonic blood."

"What's so different between them, anyway?" Elliot asked. "Blood is blood, right?"

Daniel sighed and shook his head. He relased his thin magic around the orb of blood from the Mage and the blood instantly burst out of proportion.

"This is the blood of the Mage," Daniel said. He then threw a vial in the air and break it with a flash strike of his dagger. He controlled the blood so it would hover in the air. "This is the blood of a Knight. See the difference?"

There was an obvious difference between the two. The blood from the Knight was calm and only hovered in the air while the blood of the Mage looked like it was going to escape on itself, like a rough waves of the sea but was in a spherical shape.

"The demonic I meant was that this blood," Daniel pointed a the Mage's blood, "Is heavily charged with magic, while this one is not."

"Maybe because they carry around a lot of trinkets?" Elliot tried to answer, but ended up sounding like he was asking. "Frederick wants to see you."

"I'll be right there," Daniel said. He took out two more vials from his belt that had pouched and placed the blood there. When he was done, the demons followed them because they said that they were going to the guildhouse's dormitory to rest.

The four demons have a different task. Their current goal was to discover as much information regarding the rift of space and time that happened in the den of the Forsaken. While they were out most of the time, they go back to report and rest.

Death also vanished after a while. The demon was not hostile, but Frederick thinks that they still needed to be wary of him. He could still follow his master, the Forsaken and he could conquer the realm if they ever let their guard down.

It was almost nightfall and while Elliot and Daniel walked, there was a heavy silence in between them. The demons behind them also decided to not speak, making the situation even more awkward.

"I heard Death was here," Daniel said to Elliot to strike their conversation. "I don't know him personally, but my family had a long book about them. We're vampires, so we descended from the demons."

Elliot glanced at Daniel. His appearance did drastically change which included his height and his build. The once pale, skinny, boy was now a tall, although still very pale, but sturdy looking man.

"You knew all of these?" Elliot asked. "How come you didn't say anything?"

"I didn't think that they were serious," Daniel said. "I thought the demons were only myths along with the Forsaken. I was very wrong."

"For some reason, the majority of the knowledge among the six realms are hidden," Elliot said. "I wonder why that is?"

"Probably because the previous rulers did not want to overwhelm their people," Daniel said. "Too much of everything, even if it's good, is bad. They wanted to rule the people, they limited their knowledge. The that had been passed on and now here we are."

"You're surprisingly opinionated about this topic," Elliot chuckled. "We're here."

"We're gonna go to the basement to report to Frederick," Elliot said to the demons.

"Tell us after you're done," Irus said. "We don't have anything particular to report, so it's not in a rush."

Elliot led Daniel to the morgue and found out that no one was there. He then heard a couple of screaming from the guildhouse, making him and Daniel run as fast as they could.

"Happy birthday!" the guild members greeted Viper.

He was in front of the crowd whil Florencia and Christina walked forward while carrying a cake with candles on top.

While Elliot stood at the doorway, Connor approached him. "Excuse me, Daniel. Can we borrow Elliot for a moment?"

Daniel only nodded, making Connor drag Elliot to the front where he stood in between his two female students.

"I thought you were busy," Viper said to Elliot. "And I could've understand if you're all busy. We just had a Strike–"

Elliot kneeled and smiled. He sighed and ruffled Viper's hair, something the younger boy liked. "It's your birthday. I'm sorry I was so out of it, but we have to celebrate still. The war is not here yet, so while it's not, we have to make the most out of things. Now, blow the candles!"

Viper grinned and nodded. "Right. I will."

Cristina and Florencia giggled, leaning forward so Viper could vlow the candles. "Make a wish." Elliot said.

"I wish…" Viper trailed off and mumbled the rest of his sentence to himself. "All done!"

"Happy birthday!"

The guildhouse was filled with magic and laughter. Frederick thinks that this is also their pre-war celebration. A couple of days from now, some of them here might not come back.

"Keep the ball rolling!" Midnight cheered. "I can give you as much beer as you want!"

"For free?!" Glitch and George gasped, to which Midnight dismissed with a deadpan and a shaking of his head.

"Of course, not," Midnight said. "All of these will be charged to you by the end of the week."

"Aw, come on," Glitch groaned. "It was too boring here a few days ago. You could've at least left some beer, but didn't. I have to go to another guild for some."

"Alright, fine," Midnight sighed. "Only one free beer."

While everyone was partying, Elliot and Daniel reported to Frederick.

"There were about sixteen of them," Daniel said. "I only caught that one."

"And the colors?" Frederick asked while he leaned on a wall on a darker side of the guild.

Elliot chuckled awkwardly, "We look really suspicious here."

"Frederick likes this kind of vibe," Luck snorted. "Anyway, what were the colors?"

"Assorted," Daniel replied. "There were all colors of the all the Palaces."

"Interesting," Frederick hummed.

"Oi!" Leviathan approahced them. "There was an attack? You know you could've said something, right?"

"We thought you knew," Elliot said. "Wait, where were you?"

"Right by the forest," Irus replied, narrowing his eyes. "Could it be?"

The demon ran outside and leaped to the roof of the guildhouse. Everyone followed him after they sensed the stressed aura of Irus.

"What's wrong?" Elliot asked but Irus did not replied.

Instead, he raised his finger and fired a beam of dark violet light into the skies. There was silence as they watched the beam rise.

That was until the beam reached an invisible forcefield. They all gasped after seeing this.

"What in the hell?" Elliot gasped.

"We're trapped," Irus said. "They trapped us inside."
