I Know the Secret to Surpass Level 100

Chapter 488: Corpse Autopsy

Glitch, Florencia, Christina, and Viper could not believe their eyes. The once forcefield they tried to break and failed many times before was like glass, shattering under Daniel's magic.

His blood magic barraged the forcefield, breaking it continuously. He didn't even held back. He continued to break the forcefield until all of it was gone.

"The Mages are out there somewhere," Elizabeth said. "They're not here!"

"I'll go find them," Daniel offered. He used dark red mist to cover his body before he lifted himself off of the ground and flew into the skies.

"I thought Saitan left his body? How come he could still use the demon's powers?" Lance asked.

Elliot shrugged. "I don't know."

"Saitan didn't give him any powers," Midnight answered. As one of the hosts of a Deathly Prince, he knew the rules and mechanics of how a demon would possess his host. "Daniel always have this kind of power, it was just weak. Saitan merely enhanced the magic."

"The same reason why you don't share the same magic with Leviathan, right?" Sun asked his older brother, to which Midnight answered with a nod. "Right. I'm learning now."

It was Connor, Ed and Hope who fetched Elizabeth and Elliot's students. They were racing towards them, and when they returned, they raced to get as many people as possible.

All the other Adventurers participated too. Elizabeth was healed and deactivated her tree, freeing everyone that was trapped inside.

It wasn't a couple of minutes later that Daniel returned. "The other Mages have escaped. I only got one of them."

"They escaped?" Frederick asked. "These Mages are really the most human among all of the Palace beasts. If a Knight was seen, they would attack until they die. Mages tried to escape."

Daniel shrugged and threw a body of a cloaked figure. It was similar to a Palace Phantom but it had rusted out gold trinkest and items all over their bodies.

Frederick wore a pair of gloves that he always keep on his pocket and was the one who dragged the beast. "I'll go inspect on its corpse. Luck, Galaxia, if you could please come with me."

"I want to come too," Elliot offered. Frederick did not hesitate to agree and let Elliot be the one to take the corpse. The boy took a pair of cloth from his Inventory and used it to drag the corpse.

"You could've gotten a bigger cloth and we could carry it you know," Luck said.

"I don't have a bigger cloth," Elliot retorted, making the bigger man sigh.

He ripped his shirt off, catching the attention of the women around him. Luck has one of lthe biggest body among all the Adventurers in Alorde, so he was famous among the women.

It was also an attraction for the women how he had hair all over his chest and most part of his body. They find this hot, so when Luck ripped his clothes off, they swooned and giggled.

"Still the famous playboy," Frederick commented while led the way.

"Still the famous playboy," Luck mimicked him. He used his clothing to cover the corpse and let Elliot hold the other side. "This way, we will draw less attention and less damage to the corpse."

"Right," Elliot replied and said nothing else.

They followed Frederick back to the guildhouse where he led them to the back room. Elliot has never been here before and he was surprised that he was able to see a morgue there.

"Frederick is a corpse fanatic, if it's not that obvious," Luck pointed out. "He likes to inspect the dead and he does nasty things to them."

Elliot's face was contorted in horror, thinking different. It was then that Galaxia clarified what Luck said. "He would experiment on them and collect parts for his collection."

It has never struck Elliot that Frederick had this kind of hobby. It was odd, but it was understandable because he too had fascination for the corpses.

They placed the corpse in the embalming table made of marble and crystal. This had magical runes around it to keep the magic and scent from the corpse sealed inside it while they perform the autopsy.

"I'll start by removing its clothing," Frederick said. He made the three of them stand back while he wore a lab gown and a mask along with a pair of goggles and gloves as he performed the operation.

"These are the trinkets that the Mage is wearing. Luck list them out," Frederick took the trinkets one by one. "One Crimson Pendant I, two Crimson Pendant IV, and one Crimson Pendant IX."

"Crimson Pendants enhance different aspects of the Mage's target," Luck explained. "Crimson Pendant I means that the Mage enhances it own magic, IV means it enhances the flame affinity of its target, and IX enhances the burst damage output of the target."

"So, they wear different pendants at once?" Elliot asked with Luck nodding as an answer. "But we can't do that, right? We can only wear one type of trinket at once."

"Even other Palance beast wears only one type of trinket at a time," Galaxia was the one who answered this time. "This is one of thr few first times that we actually have encountered a Mage. The rest are just a collection of different beasts."

"Mages are really the keys to the Palace," Luck said. "It's a wonder how Daniel took care of one of them when these guys will give even me or Freddie a hard time."

"Even me," Galaxia sighed. "Three pendants meant that they could deal great amount of magic damage to their target."

"Crimson Ring IX," Frederick continued. "Crimson Ring X, and Crimson Ring IX."

"Fire, Metal, and Nature," Galaxia said. "Rings represent the affinity that the beast has. They even have three of them, which includes the Nature affinity."

"No wonder they got Elizabeth like that," Luck hummed. "That woman's magic fortification remains greater over all others. She can't be overpowered with the same affinity as her just like that."

"Crimson Belt I, Crimson Belt XI, Crimson Belt IX," Frederick continued. "Elliot, I'll explain this one for you. The Crimson Belt would amplify the magic of the Mage. For example, this one would be able to project high level magic because of the pendant and the belt."

"How come the pendant and the belt differ?" Elliot asked to which Galaxia answered.

"The pendant enhances aspects, the belt amplifies the magic by percentage," Galaxia said. "Each belt with higher number would increase the magic of the user by percent. This one has already an equal magic to one Guardian."

"Elliot?" Frederick called out. "Please call Daniel. I want to have a word with him."

"Why?" Elliot asked.

"There's something wrong with this Mage," Frederick said. "I also want to know how many are there that he saw."

"Alright," Elliot nodded. As he walked out of the door, he saw Luck get closer to Frederick and asked something.

"What's wront?" Luck asked.

Frederick raised the corpse's arm. "This beast lack blood. There's no blood anywhere."

Elliot gulped when he knew how this happened. Daniel controls blood. He must've drawn them out.

His theory was proven when he saw Daniel right by the gate. He was hovering in the air while channeling a blood orb in front of him.

"This blood is not human," Daniel whispered. "It's demonic."
