NOVEL NEXT Chapter 486: Palace Mages
"Enhanced Lotus Blast!" Elliot leaped from the ground and struck his power at four Kights all at the same time.
The pink streaks of enegry clashed on to the Knight's armor, destroying them and effectively killing the Knights.
It was harder for Elliot to attack several Knights at once when his skill set and his weapons required for him to have an intense one on one battle against his enemy rather than the wide damage area that his friends could cover.
On the other hand, when it comes to single combat, his friends would have a harder time especially Connor who required to be in a distance for his skills to be effective. Elliot was telling himself that it was okay, and that he was fine. He didn't need Eternal status or an otherworldly powers to excel. He has the Manual after all.
"We only took out about half of them," Connor groaned. "It's like all the nimber of Knights in history came here to fight. There's just so many."
"Shattered Starlight!" Galaxia kissed his closed hand before throwing it in the air, opening his hand to shoot out hundreds of small glass-like particles. The glass particles he fired was launched to the Knights, exploding into one big ball of flame that could kill three Knights each.
"I think when it comes to being flashy, we have a winner," Ed sighed. "And here goes Midnight."
Midnight morphed into the large creature that he was along with Sun who was on his side. The sky dimmed, as if the light and darkness were fighting over each other.
They maintained their head, torso, and arm while the rest of their bodies as well as their hair morphed. There was a scale that ran from their forehead, up to the middle part of their head to give way for their hair that floated as if they were underwater.
Their forearm was morphed into claws that resembled a mix of human hands and bird talons but with their respective colors. Their lower body meanwhile were morphed into pairs of wolverine claws, ready to kill.
A pair of wings sustained the siblings' flight while they hovered above the Knights. It was like a black and a white mythical creatures appeared above them, standing in the air while preparing to unleash their wrath.
"Holy Destruction!" Midnight yelled. He spin his hands together as he conjured a mist of darkness in them.
"Dark Salvation!" Sun followed his brother. He spin his hands together before nodding, signaling Midnight something.
When Midnight nodded back, the two of them spin around each other to create a giant disc. When the giant disc was formed, they both halted before slamming their hands down, shooting a giant beam of black and white light.
The light enveloped a mass number of Knights, barely leaving some alive. This impressed the Adventurers. They smiled after seeing that a huge number of their enemies were wiped out.
"Sun just surpassed the Breakthrough," Connor informed his friends. "That's why he's that strong and confident about his powers."
"The Breakthrough greatly enhances the skills of Adventurers even when their level is increased by only one," Lance said. "But I'm sure when you guys surpassed that, you'll be stronger than me."
Lance then shot three rounds of his crescent-shaped attacks, destroying a number of the Knights. "But that was before I got the power of the One Sun. Good luck catching up to me now."
Lance was laughing while he shoot himself off of the ground and into the skies where he fired more of his attacks against the Knights. His friends watched him in disbelief, not expecting such playfulness to come out of him at this time.
"That guy was an idiot," Connor chuckled. "Come on, guys. Let's go and show that fool that we're as strong as him."
Ed and Hope nodded, both of them jumping into the crowd of Knights to follow Lance and attack the enemies. Meanwhile, Connor held out his hand for Elliot.
"Just like the old days?" Connor smirked. "You were much stronger than me back then and now."
"You think I'm still stronger than you?" Elliot asked to which Connor answered with a shrug.
"I don't know, maybe?" Connor chuckled. "But I know I'm more handsome than you."
This is where Elliot scoffed and rolled his eyes. He playfully ignored Connor's hand while he set his body with his electric streaks. "But your infernal form is disturbing. You should check on yourself first."
When Elliot was about to launch himself towards the enemies, Connor said to him. "At least I already have a lover. You have women interested in you but you only focus on your goal."
Elliot shrugged, "Well, I have nothing else to say against that."
They both laughed at each other before joining their friends in the fight. The battle went on for a couple more hours. The Adventurers were tired, but the Knights were finished. Not one of them escaped the fight.
"Everyone," Frederick announced. "Since all of us helped together to eradicate the threat, the Azure Scorch and The Eternals guilds are going to throw a celebration for us!"
This made the Adventurers cheer. Man, woman, old, or young, every Adventurer liked to party. And when the party involves the entire city, it would be a huge celebration.
Meanwhile, the core members of both the guild hosts gathered in a room whild the others prepare. Frederick sighed, sitting on a chair and placed both of his hands on his face to cover it.
"Will this keep on, Fred?" Luck asked. Frederick removed his hands from his face and shrugged. "Honestly? I don't know anymore. This never happened before. But then again, the last time this would've happened was six hundred years ago."
"You didn't really started the party to party, right?" Elliot asked to which Frederick answered by shaking his head. "Then why?"
"I want them to he as calm as possible," Frederick said. "There's a storm coming, a stronger storm and I don't know if everyone can survive."
Meanwhile, Glitch was sent to the people of Alorde to tell them that the Knights have been eradicated. Elizabeth and the other young Adventurers helped the people evacuate while the Strike went on.
Glitch stepped forward, feeling an ominous aura inside the giant tree that Elizabeth built to protect them. He gulped before using his skill to teleport inside the tree.
When he was inside, he gasped at the sight. The people of Alorde were being tied by vines along with the Adventurers.
"Run!" Elizabeth yelled. "They came to us while you were distracted by the Knights!"
"Who?" Glitch asked, suddenly feeling a vine creep on his feet and crawl up to his leg. He escaped but not for long. Several vines attacked him. "What are these?!"
Glitch had used his skill to dodge all the vines that try to restrain him. His body would appear and vanish from one place to another, trying to escape the several vines that were running after him.
"Elizabeth!" Glitch yelled when the woman was being taken by a large flower.
"They're the Mages! Ask Frederick for help!" Elizabeth yelled. "The Mages that lie inside the deepest chamber of each Palace has come out. Glitch, run. Now!"
