Chapter 485: Strike Nostalgia
The army was approaching in an incredible speed. Knights are known for their slow movements along with their incredibly high defensive and offensibe capabilities, but these Knights that are running towards the city wasn't like those Knights.
"Take the citizens with you," Galaxia said to the two young girls. "I will take care of this. Elizabeth, mind helping an old friend?"
"We were still new freinds not a month ago," Elizabeth said but shook her head. "I'm sorry. But I can't bear to create chaos with my powers anymore. I retired because I can't do it again."
"I understand," Galaxia said, tapping the woman's shoulder and smiled. "But can you help these girls? It would be such a huge help if you could."
"That I can do," Elizabeth nodded. "Let's go, girls."
Elizabeth, Florencia, and Christina led the citizens to safety while Galaxia, Midnight, and Sun went to the West gate where the Knights were coming from.
Adventurers from different guilds have already gathered there, waiting for the Knight to come closer so they could launch the attack.
"Frederick," Luck called to his friend who walked forward. It was like the scene when Elliot joined his first Strike. He could remember the horde of giant boars that was approaching their city. The feeling was foreign for him and it brought back memories.
The man with the harlequin styled coat hanging over his shoulders stood in front of the crowd of Adventurers. He sighed as he gathered a ball of dense flames in between his palms.
"Flaming Barrage," Frederick fired the bursting wave of flames right into the Knights, swallowing everything in its path.
The Adventurers cheered at the display of power Frederick showed. The latter raised his finger to stop them, "It is no time to rejoice. Not one of the Knights had perished from my attack."
They all gasp when the Knights from under Frederick's attack came out with barely a little burnt armor. The attack managed to lower their HP, but it was barely anything at all. The damage from the Flaming Barrage was too weak.
"As I thought," Frederick sighed. "Everyone, we need to fight these Knights to the best of our abilities. You saw what happened to my attack."
"Do your best," Galaxia yelled. "Alice, if you may."
Alice threw her arm out, summoning her retractable staff and spinning it. The head of her staff glowed with a bright white light as she traced symbols in the air using it. "Blessing of the Holy Saint of Power!"
The symbols formed a circle above Alice, like a giant halo that was spinning around her. The halo then spewed out balls of white light like a meteor shower. The light entered most of the Adventurers, giving them increase in their power.
A group of casters lined up on either side of Alice. They provided the power for the rest of the Adventurers, making sure everyone was at their best while they fight the Knights.
"Her skills are so flashy," Connor snorted. "Hey, Elliot, remember the time when we first met?"
Elliot smiled after he recurred his memories of the time that Connor and him met. They were fighting a boar and it was the first time Elliot met a friend.
"How much are we different from then?" Connor asked, flinching to morph into his Infernal form. This was a new feature for him after he discovered it two days ago. Now, switching from his human and Infernal form was like flexing his mucsles.
"I'd say we're very different from back then," Elliot chuckled, unsheathing his sword and igniting it with the pink light from his lotus blast. He also made red electric streaks all throughout his body as a preparation to activate his Hasty Aspire."
"I don't want to lose to both of you," Ed chimed in. He slammed his sword to the ground and let the dark purple light from his metal arm sleeve envelop his body and create an armor. When his hand gripped the handle of the sword, it was set ablaze, giving it a new shine. "I can flash my skills too."
"Y'all are such children," Lance chuckled. It was his turn to cover his body with the bright yellow light from the power of the One Sun. He brandished both of his swords and let the light from his body envelop it, mixing with his original power. "But I am not different, so I too, would join your flashy competition."
"I got this one on the bag," Hope laughed and leaped off of the ground to morph into his dragon form midair. All of the Adventurers including the citizens of Alorde awed at the sight of the giant dark gray dragon in the sky. "I will tell you what Mr. Luck said to me while we were back in the East."
Hope dove towards the Knights, unleashing his power at them and practically destroying a fraction of these Knights. "Size matters."
Connor flew on his staff and scoffed. He slashed his sword forward and created a crescent-shaped attack that also destroyed a number of Knights. "Size does not matter, power does."
The other three, Elliot, Lance, and Ed, started to destoyed numerous Knights alone. It was like the five of them are racing to which person could defeat the most number of Knights.
This led to the rest of the Adventurers to scratch their heads in confusion.
"Do they really need us?"
"I think they got this. Those guys alone can handle almost a quarter of the Knights."
…
"And they told me that I was the flashy one," Alice shook her head in amusement. "Everyone, help them! We can't just watch from here, you know."
The Adventurers nodded and launched their own attacks at the Knights. Albeit not as flashy and powerful as the first five of them, everyone of them still contributed.
"They're just kids," Frederick said to Alice when the woman looked at him.
"I didn't say anything though," Alice chuckled. "But they're not just kids anymore. One of them is the Prophecized Boy, but we all know he can't do it alone."
"His gang will help him," Luck said confidently. "Their bond is stronger than any magic that Malice nor the Man has."
"I just hope that's true," Alice sighed. "I hope it is."
