I Became a Knockoff Arms Dealer in the Marvel World

Chapter 18: Chapter 18: Negotiations Fail, Let the Battle Begin!

Upon hearing Carl's rebuttal, Tony Stark found himself momentarily speechless.

As a member of a capitalist conglomerate, he, of course, understood the hidden agendas behind the outbreak of the Middle East war.

Tony cursed inwardly: Damn oil capitalists!

Unable to argue on moral grounds, Tony shifted his focus to another angle.

His voice, coming through the metallic helmet, sounded deep and full of righteous indignation: "The Jericho missile is a weapon I invented, and Umbrella has violated Stark Industries' weapon patents!"

Carl, hearing that Tony was bringing up patents, let out a disdainful laugh and said, "First of all, you have no evidence that the Jericho missile was sold by Umbrella.

Secondly, if you think Umbrella violated your patents, why don't you sue me?"

Carl's dismissive words sent Tony into a fit of rage.

Evidence? The Jericho missiles on the Middle Eastern battlefield aren't evidence enough?

He'd already studied the Jericho missiles used there, and while they were poorly replicated with inferior materials, their precision and accuracy were still impressive.

Tony Stark, filled with pent-up fury, could no longer hold back. Without a second thought, he raised his hand and fired a palm beam.

Boom!

A laser beam swiftly shot toward him. Carl had already anticipated that Tony, unable to win the verbal fight, would resort to a physical confrontation.

If words were effective, why would humanity even need weapons?

Carl skillfully dodged the palm beam by sidestepping with ease.

With a mocking expression, he said, "When you can't win with high moral arguments, all you can do is sneak attack others, huh, Mr. Righteous Iron Man?"

Wearing his Mark VII Iron Man suit, Tony rapidly charged at Carl, attempting to engage him in close combat while coldly saying:

"Don't think that just because you have a little superpower, you can ignore the law. Once I catch you, I'll find evidence that Umbrella sold Jericho missiles!"

Rhodey, who had been watching the scene unfold, couldn't help but think that Umbrella's involvement was much more suspicious. He naturally sided with Tony.

Seeing his long-time brother getting involved, Rhodey could only frown and say, "Then let's fight. I just hope we don't end up getting nuked to the heavens! I don't want to die together with the enemy."

With that, Rhodey, donning his Iron Man suit, activated his thrusters and shot toward the woman in the red dress on the opposing side.

He couldn't resist adding, "That mysterious red glow looks pretty scary. I wonder if your powers can block my missiles?"

Immediately, Rhodey launched a barrage of small missiles from his back without holding back at all.

After all, Umbrella was an arms dealer, and this woman, standing with them, was clearly on the evil side.

Wanda, seeing two Iron Man-suited individuals opposite her, especially her enemy Tony Stark—who had surrendered but was now sneak-attacking—felt her anger surge.

Her hands glowed crimson, and she quickly conjured a magical shield, ready to take on the incoming missiles.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

A series of missiles exploded against the red shield, their deafening sounds continuous.

After easily deflecting the missiles, Wanda waved her hand, hurling five or six spheres of chaotic magic toward Rhodey.

Whoosh! Whoosh! Whoosh! The red magical spheres flew through the air at lightning speed.

Rhodey weaved through the sky, dodging the magical attacks one after another.

Meanwhile, Carl, who was flying toward their main base, contacted Red Queen via his earpiece, ordering the A1-type Iron Man suits to deploy.

Carl's current combat ability was relatively weak, and his telekinetic force, only a few hundred kilograms, couldn't even scratch the Mark VII suit's titanium alloy armor.

So, naturally, he wouldn't engage Tony head-on.

At the rear, two newly manufactured A1-type Iron Man suits—still unpainted, their grayish white metal surfaces gleaming—suddenly activated, their red optical sensors lighting up ominously.

[Power up. Connecting to A101 and A102 Iron Man suits.]

The thrusters ignited, spewing out bright white flames as the suits slowly ascended.

The Red Queen AI controlled the suits as they shot out of the factory and flew a few kilometers toward Carl's location.

Tony Stark, in hot pursuit, found himself struggling to keep up. He had to evade incoming attacks from behind and accelerate madly to avoid being caught.

However, it was clear that Carl's flight speed was far slower than Tony's Mark VII.

In just over ten seconds of fighting, Carl was about to be caught by Tony. If Tony grabbed him, it would be a near-death experience for Carl today.

Umbrella had too many secrets hidden away, and Carl certainly didn't want to become the world's enemy.

Fortunately, Red Queen was reliable. Two unpainted A1-type Iron Man suits sped through the air, heading straight for Tony to intercept him.

Tony Stark, seeing the two Iron Man suits with chest-mounted arc reactors blocking his path, darkened his face.

"Damn it! Just as Rhodey's bad luck said, Umbrella does have Iron Man suits!"

Then, Tony engaged in close combat with the two suits, clashing in mid-air with loud metallic noises.

Carl, who also had offensive capabilities, carried several hundred steel balls, using his telekinetic powers to shoot them out with the same force as rifle bullets.

However, these attacks were completely ineffective against Tony's suit.

The defense of the titanium alloy armor was so formidable that unless missiles were used, it was nearly impossible to break through.

Close combat was Carl's only remaining option. Though he carried a long knife made with vibranium—sharp as ever—he didn't believe that one knife could defeat the famous Iron Man.

Thus, he planned to have Red Queen deal with Tony while Wanda took care of her own fight, allowing Carl to sit back and watch Tony face off with the Scarlet Witch in this grand spectacle.

With that thought in mind, Carl turned his attention toward Wanda.

He was surprised to see her glowing with crimson light, her delicate, pale hand reaching forward.

Rhodey, still charging forward in mid-air, suddenly found his Iron Man suit enveloped in a layer of bright crimson light, causing him to freeze mid-air, unable to move.

"What kind of power is this? I can't control my suit!" Rhodey said, feeling the air thinning inside his suit, his breathing becoming labored.

"I can't… breathe! Open the suit! Open the suit!" Rhodey shouted, but to his horror, the holographic screen before him flickered a few times and then vanished.

His Iron Man suit had been forcibly shut down.

"Reboot the system!" Rhodey urgently shouted, but everything turned black.

Trapped in his metal helmet, Rhodey felt helpless. After some time with no oxygen, he finally lost consciousness, his eyes closing as he passed out.

Even though her opponent was no longer able to fight back, the cold and ruthless Wanda pulled her hand to the left, making her crimson glow intensify.

The chaotic magic erupted in an instant!

A massive, invisible force tore through Rhodey's entire Iron Man suit, revealing his unconscious form beneath.

Clang! Clang!

Countless metal parts fell to the ground as Rhodey plummeted from the sky, dropping several meters.
