Chapter 7: The Fated Meeting II
(Drakken's POV)
I looked at the creature and the boy that was riding it, "And what the hell is that thing supposed to be?" I said pointing at the red abomination, "A dragon?"
"A keen observation." the boy said with a frown, "And you are?"
My eye twitched, "Is that so?" He said, "You want to be smart with me???"
The creature snarled, glaring at me. I could feel that there was a slightly potent amount of magic coming from within it. There was no doubt about it, this was a dragon. Well, as far as the laws of this world could dictate.
Where are the four limbs? The two sets of wings? The insane amount of magic power? This is more like a wyvern, an ugly-looking one! I can only assume that they could only breathe fire, unlike the Royal Wyverns which have an insane amount of versatility.
"In the name of King Jaehaerys, you will halt what you're doing." the boy said, "You have committed crimes against the Crown, you will turn yourself in."
I sighed and looked around, "Nothing but disappointment as of late." I said as I shrugged, "Alright, I guess I'll play along. Or maybe not...."
I took a step forth and the creature snarled, flaying its neck as it slammed its wings on the ground, causing a slight tremor. It was not that large, which was a bit disappointing. I was expecting majestic creatures that wield amazing power but I could not have been more annoyed at the moment.
"Do not take another step." the boy said
I looked at him, "You." I said, "What's your name?"
"I am Prince Aemon Targaryen, son of King Jaehaerys, and Heir to the Iron Throne." He said seriously, "Rider of Caraxes, the Blood Wyrm."
"Oh, you named this horrid creature?" I pointed at the red thing, "How cute. Anyway, get it to face away from me. It's disgusting, I should cleave its neck in half if I could."
He scowled, "Any insult thrown at my dragon is an insult thrown at me." He said seriously, "You will not be warned again."
"Well, the insult should be thrown at you!" I returned the scowl, "Who the fuck do you think you are? Coming to me atop a wretched beast that masquerades as a dragon and pretending to be high and mighty."
"I won't say it again." He said, "I will have you bathed in flames for the sake of The Realm."
I looked at the beast, it began shaking its head and snarling at me.
If it's a dragon, according to this world. Then, by the logic of my power, it should respond to my Calamity. Even in Infernis, Wyverns fall under the Laws of the Dragon, no matter how lowly they are. They are lesser versions of Dragons and I am the pinnacle of Draconic power, the Dragon God. Or as I like to call myself; The War of God and Death.
This beast should not pose a problem to me. I need to drain its power to fuel mine.
I smirked, "You. Beast." I said
The creature tilted its head as it let out a vocalization. It blinked as it recognized my voice.
The Prince frowned, "Just what are you doing?"
I pointed at the beast, "Don't move." I commanded
The creature stopped moving for a few seconds before tilting its head yet again.
I felt it. There was a response in the creature's eyes. But there was a bit of resistance as if the magic within it was strong enough to not allow it to obey the command. This was unusual. This was not supposed to happen. A dragon or wyvern was unable to resist a command, no matter how weak I am. Well, that's a lie. A dragon is capable of resisting my power at my current state but a Wyvern shouldn't. They are naturally occurring creatures with some magic in their blood, yes. They should not be able to ignore my influence.
Unless...
I looked at the Prince, "Hey boy."
He raised an eyebrow, He was a bit intrigued at what had just happened; me telling his beast to not move.
"What is it?" the Prince said
"Are you bonded with the beast?" I asked with a slight smirk
He narrowed his eyes, "W-What?"
"I can only assume a mere human like you can only ride a dragon due to a bond. A magical link between you and the creature." I told him
"C-Creature? This is a dragon." He scowled, "You will show respect to-"
"That is no Dragon." I said seriously, "I have tamed an army of them, I know what a True Dragon is. I have fought and killed Archdragons and even bent a Dragon God to my will. I assure you, they do not look like that. Even the Royal Wyverns that I've submitted are far beyond whatever horrid being that thing is. But answer my question."
He glared at me, "That is enough." He said firmly, "I am a Targaryen, the blood of Old Valyria. A Dragonrider who has bonded with the dragon known as Caraxes. But not like it matters if I tell you or not since you're about to die. Woman, step away. Now."
I saw as the girl began to run away to the side as the creature reared its head back and began to snarl.
"Dracarys"
"Dra-What?" I frowned
The red thing unleashed flames at me, hitting me hard in the chest as I felt the heat engulf me. I began to smell the grass underneath me began to burn, the smoke filling the air as I felt more and more flames be released upon me.
"Huh...." I said as I was unbothered, "Literal flames.....wait...."
I focused and raised my hands up slightly and felt some of the flames be siphoned into them. I felt a tiny bit of power be drained by the heat of the flames. Then, in a matter of seconds, the flames cleared up and I was revealed to be completely unscathed.
"W-What....????" The Prince said as he looked at me with a completely baffled expression
I placed my hand on my chin, "Invulnerability to flames? That can't be it...." I said, "Even in Infernis, I have had flames burn me....Unless I have built a ridiculous amount of resistance to the element unless it was the flames of high-tiers back there...the Flames of The Scar-Kings burnt me for decades.....maybe that's why...."
The boy and the creature both looked at me. The Prince was completely shocked by this.
I pointed at the beast, "Don't move." I said, a bit firmer
I felt it; it worked. He stopped moving for a few seconds longer than before. This was a perfect opportunity for me and I seized it.
I had run towards the beast and jumped over it, landing atop it and in front of the boy who was shocked by this.
"What the hells?!?" He exclaimed as he placed his hand on his sword
"Tsk tsk!" I said as I grabbed his hand and kept it place, "No no no."
I noticed leather straps that were fastened on his waist, some sort of harness for the saddle of the creature. I flicked my wrist and cut them with ease, using my Cutting Sorcery. In a swift motion, I flung the boy out of the saddle and onto the ground.
"A-Aghh!!" He shouted in pain as I turned around and sat down on the saddle
"Hm." I said as I placed my hand on the hide of the horrid lizard, "Like this.....let's try it."
I then felt a significant amount of power being drained as the creature immediately slammed itself to the ground, letting out a pained whimper as there was a bright red glow coming from my hand and the spot where I was holding his hide.
"Ho...." I said as I felt the energy coursing through my veins, "Yes....."
"This power....!!!"
