Chapter 8: The Fated Meeting III
(Drakken's POV)
"Ah...." I said as I felt the power coursing through me, "Nice."
I pulled my hand away as I heard the beast whimpering in pain. I then proceeded to jump off it and landed on the ground next to the Prince who was barely getting up and drawing his sword.
He pointed his blade at me as he assumed a stance, which didn't look half-bad.
"What did you do?!" He exclaimed, "Explain yourself!!"
I looked at my arms, I could see my veins slightly glowing as I felt the Ether inside my body resonating with the power drained. It wasn't a huge boost in power as I'd expected, any more and I would have probably killed the poor grotesque thing.
I looked at the Prince, "Ah, relax." I told him, "I'm not going to kill your so-called dragon. As the vampires go about it, I should keep my blood-bag live and healthy."
"Vam-what?" He frowned, "W-What are you?!"
I gave him a slight smirk, "I'm the God of War and Death."
"A god?" He said with a frown, "That is impossible. A god does not have the form that you take?"
"Ah, who gives a shit?" I said as I placed my hands in my pockets, "I'll leave you to it then. Goodbye."
I walked past him, hearing the sound of the whimpering that came from the red thing.
"Wait!" He exclaimed, "Do you seriously believe that I, Prince Aemon Targaryen, would allow you to walk away from this alive?!"
I stopped and glanced at him, seeing the determination in his eyes.
"You....how old are you?" I asked him
"W-What?" He said
I eyed him up and down. Upon a closer look, he was quite tall yet the traits on his face suggests that he is but a young teenager, at most 18. He didn't feel to be quite old, now that I'm starting to sense it.
There was something else I picked up from him; a bit of magic, blood magic. In his blood, would you believe? Something was off about him.
I turned around to face him and focused my senses on him, trying to analyze what I was sensing from him. Now that I had siphoned a bit of dragon power, I was able to clear out my senses, like something was blocking my sinuses and I could breathe and smell through my nose. It was sort of like that but with my magic sensory.
Yes, there was a hint of magic in his blood. It was just there, which is odd. Not a single person I had run into had this trait, well, not like I could sense it but I knew they didn't show any sort of impressive things.
"What's with your blood?" I asked him with a frown, "It's pungent with dragon power."
He looked at me with surprise, "What?"
"What this, what that....." I sighed, "You're as useless as that stupid girl. Fuck off."
I waved him off and turned around, beginning to walk away before I heard a footstep. He had taken a step forward.
I stopped and glanced at him, "If you're going to stab me in the back, feel free to not hesitate." I told him, "A simple mistake could cost you your life. Be fortunate that I am reasonable enough to spare you and your horrid creature, whatever that is."
He frowned, tightening the grip on his sword. I noticed there was sweat on his face, as if he was still shaken up about what I had just done. Perhaps it was a huge deal to him, me jumping on his beast and flinging him off it.
It was normal to me, the least impressive thing I have ever done. I mean, there are a lot of stories about things I have done that are too crazy for me to even fathom. For a world that has "Dragons", the humans here are too mundane and boring.
Can't do much about it, I'm stuck here, I guess.
He didn't say anything, I could tell just by looking at him that he was thinking hard; contemplating many things in his own mind. He was Royalty. I'll admit, he does look the part. I don't think I'd ever run into a guy with white hair and purple eyes with skin as pale as a pearl in this boring world. He reminds me of the Northern Princesses from Infernis. The Elves too.
I miss Artemis honestly.
"What was your name again? Aemon?" I asked him
He stepped back, "Y-Yes...."
"Strange sounding name, hm?" I said as I chuckled, "I'll see you in King's Landing, Aemon. Etch this moment into your memory, the moment you came across the God of War and Death, Drakken. The only reason you live is because I allowed it so. I don't seek bloodshed...."
"Only Chaos."

(Third Person POV)
[The Red Keep]
"Any word from Aemon?" Jaehaerys asked Septon Barth as he walked into the council room
"No." Barth responded
Jaehaerys stopped in front of the table, "I don't like this one bit." He said, "Perhaps I should take flight."
"I would advise against it, Your Grace." Barth said, "I don't believe the Prince will be in any danger."
Jaehaerys then walked past the table and made his way to the window, "That may be so. But I have this uneasy feeling." He said, "Like there is something lurking out there, something dangerous. I don't trust myself to be just sitting here, doing nothing."
"Have faith." Septon Barth said, "The Seven will guide us through this."
"That may be so." Jaehaerys said with a frown, "But I've had nightmares about what's to come. I fear my children are in danger."
Barth looked at him, "Your children?" He said, "You worry too much, Your Grace."
"I have to do something." He said seriously, "And quickly."
"We'll do something when we get to that point." Barth said, "First, we listen to what the Prince has to report."
He looked at Barth, "I hear that Baelon came to you, looking for me. When I was in the Dragonpit." He said
The Hand nodded, "Yes." He said, "He was telling me that the time for him to claim a dragon was near."
Jaehaerys looked to the side, "Is that so?"
"He wishes to claim the old one." Barth said
Jaehaerys looked at him, "Balerion?" He asked with surprise, "Is he serious?"
"No, not Balerion." Barth said, "Vhagar. The Prince wishes to claim Vhagar."
"Hm...." Jaehaerys said, "I see....."
"Well, that would be a good thing."
***************
[The Kingswood, A Couple Days Later]
Right outside the Kingswood, a few dozen meters away from the treeline, sitting on a large rock, Drakken was looking at the capital in the far distance.
He was biting a piece of cooked meat from a stick as he frowned, "That's the capital?" He said with a somewhat bored face, "Well....smells like shit."
He pulled the map from his pocket and unfolded it, placing the stick of meat in his teeth as he looked at the map.
"Hm...." He said as he took the meat into his mouth and spat the stick away, "Okay....King's Landing, huh? I do sense a bit of draconic power coming from the city. But it's far away, so I should get closer and hope there's more."
He looked at what seemed to be the Blackwater Gulf and ran his finger up to the set of islands that was above it.
"Ho...?" He said, "Driftmark...and....Dragonstone?"
He leaned closer, inspecting the island on the map.
"If I am smart, I'd wager that Dragonstone is home to at least a few 'dragons'." He said with a slight smirk, "I should head there after King's Landing should things not go my way. But how? A boat? Or could I swim?"
He then placed his hand on his chin, thinking hard. He was still skeptical about using his suddenly slightly boosted power recklessly. He needed a bit more and while he could've fully drained Caraxes, he chose not to because he didn't feel comfortable draining power from something as ugly as that.
"Can I do what that Prince did?" He asked himself, "A bond? Without needing to submit a dragon to my will? I have the draconic magic from that red abomination in my veins, giving me the ability to bond with those things...Well.....that's an option...."
"But nah...I'll do my own thing."
