Chapter 1275: Farewell-1

"Master." No matter what Samara did, she was still her master. The person who looked after Ariel since she was a little girl.

Samara looked at Ariel clearly witnessing conflicting emotional turmoil behind her eyes. The helpless girl she had rescued turned into such a responsible woman over the years under her care but she could never give her life free from shackles.

Maybe here struggle to achieve revenge was also passed down and now it was consuming both her and the next generation of clan members.

Now that she thinks about it, she never really been a good parent to her precious student. She might have been hesitant in the past but looking at her now, she decided it was best to let go.

Ariel now had people that could protect her at least Samuel didn't seem like the person that would go back on his word. She didn't know if her struggles were worth it but she knew she couldn't go on like this.

She would get what's coming to her whoch was why she didn't want to drag Ariel with her. Her Abyss was her's to face, leaving this world seemed like the right thing to do. Beside, she was tired after so much bloodshed and mindless pursuit of power.

At least, Ariel didn't seem to have same drive as her which will be beneficial for her to adapt to a more normal life.

She reached toward Ariel who thought, her master would lash out finding out about her betrayal which was why she braced herself for the worse but all she felt was a pat on her head.

"Have I ever told you how lucky I was to have you as my student? You were one thing that kept me grounded throughout the years but I never seem to give you any pove that you deserve."

"I really failed as a parent but now that you have a family, I don't want to hold you back."

Ariel looked up at Samara shocked. Was it the same master who would flip out over little mistake not to mention her treason was way worse!

" Why? You don't have to act so surprised. Even though I didn't have any family over the years due to our unique physique, I always considered you as my own. It's time for me to put down the mantle, that's what I promised him." She looked at Samuel who was ready for action which showed that he too cared about Ariel, not on the same level as Talia but there was some compassion in his eyes which were not corrupted my greed or power.

She only hope that he would not be affected by it in the future, if that happened she couldn't imagine what type of world he would create!

"Master...I am.."

"There is no need for you to say anything." She pulled her into a hug, a first show of affection she felt from her.

"Live a responsible life and leave this all behind. I can see he is a good man who cares about his people. I can leave you in his care. Remember not to follow my path as it would only lead to destruction and utter loneliness." She whispered in her ears before pushing her away.

"Samuel, I need to talk to you alone after that you can take them away."

"Alright." He agreed seeing the determination in her eyes.

Ariel wanted to say something but she bit her lower lip knowing it wasn't her place to say anything. She took Talia away goving two of them some space.

"Have you made up your mind?" He asked.

"Yes. I realise what I have been doing is completely against what Kali would have done in the past. No matter the cause, I am responsible for suffering of others but now I am tired."

"You don't seem like the type fo admit your mistake beside there is nothing you could about the past."

"I know which is why I need your help. You still remember that you promised to fulfill one of my conditions right? What I want is simple, take care of that girl for me. She had seen too much all for my selfish reasons."

Samuel was silent not knowing how he should answer her. Ariel was different but she resembles Talia a lot too after all both were half sisters.

But more than that, he doesn't know of she herself would willing leave this place after all she had a lot to do with day to day operations of this place. In a sense, she was responsible for it too which might clash with his promise to erase this place from all the sins.

"You don't have to be this way. She is just a naive girl who doesn't know much about anything other than what I taught her. She never had a family or anyone to care for her so I just hope you can give her same stability as Talia."

"I...I promise, I will look after her but if she doesn't change her ways, I will not stop her." There was a chance for to continue Samara's legacy which will mean, he would have to deal with her. He might be lenient with her because of what he did to help Talia but that would be as far he would go for her, after all they don't know each other that well.

"Good, I believe in her. Regarding the people, I will take care of them. You don't have to dirty your hands, beside, I know who are guilty and who should recieve punishment."

"How can I trust you to remain impartial?"

"You have my word. By tomorrow, I will leave this place in your hands. Do whatever you can with it."

Samuel knew what she meant, she will punish those she deem unworthy which dismantling the whole structure that she built with her own hands over the decades.

"Just remember, the people I was after will not let this go so you better be prepared for it."

Samuel nodded knowing the existence of this place will be revealed to their common enemy. He wasn't afraid of them, he wanted them to make a move so that he could go after them but with how things are right now, he was doubtful if they will show up.

Destruction of one of the branches of Vishakanya would be a massive boost to their morale as they seemed to mortal enemies. He knew his doing here will only help them but he couldn't show them any mercy just because they were supposedly on the same side.
