Chapter 1276: Farewell-2
Samara told him everything that needed to be said. It was ironic, he came here to rescue Talia but in the end, he ended up getting help from the very person he was here to destroy.
Some people would say he was a fool to trust hsi enemies but he knew there was never a grudge between them beside he appreciated these ancient clans for adhering to a code no matter how twisted it was.
Samuel and Talia bith watched Ariel and Samara go through the whole process from the sidelines.
Samara never seemed like the person who was afraid of death. Even when she was helping him, she never made it seem like she was desperate to live.
Ariel also settled into a rhythm like it was just another job for her. Both master and student were carrying the task with ease fully knowing thry wouldn't be together tomorrow.
After a while, he let them be. Even if they tried to pull something, he was confident he could just suppress them if he needed to do it.
For now, he had to contact Steve and others to let them fly out to this place so that they could take it over after Samara dealt with all the loose ends.
He knew how important this place was for them. They had been studying the weapons and technology that they recovered from their previous clash with the clan but now they would have much more and also a concrete chain meaning they wouldn't need to mull over reverse engineering everything.
From weapons to medical science, the clan had a lot of research on everyday fields. It could supercharge the whole Rothschild family enterprise if they were used properly.
He was also thinking about informing Nicole and Lihn, they were busy in his Paris estate where he tasked them to create some of the cutting edge technology in both artificial intelligence and other appliance related fields.
If he could keep this place hidden for few weeks, he might just relocate his people here but there was still a risk involved so he was holding back his hands for now.
But more than anything, he wanted to give some to let Ariel adjust to everything while also keeping Talia company.
They never really had some to talk since she ran away from his place few days back. There was a lot both had to say to each other.
"It's strange." Talia who was walking beside him said looking up at him.
"What? Do I have something on my face?"
"No, I mean...I don't know." She blushed remembering how she hugged his so passionately when they met earlier.
It led her tumble but he caught her waist before picking her up in his arms.
"I never knew you were this clumsy." He said looking down at her but she hid her face not ready to face him.
It's not like she didn't know how to face him but now that he was in front of her, she didn't know what to say to him.
"I just tripped. Beside, I was talking about something else. Do you think Miss Samara will keep her word?"
"I thought you will be more resentful toward her. Ariel told me everything that happened between you two." Samuel asked. Everytime he imagines what she went through, he start to think he haven't really punished Samara enough.
"I...I don't know what to feel about everything. It's more appropriate to say, I was in a trance every since I left that day. I always dream about being one of them just like my mentor, Raani but now, I don't know."
"That's why people say, never meet your idols." Samuel chuckled bringing some joy to their depressing conversation.
"That might be true. Maybe she was doing what she thought was right in her own way. I survived but others weren't so lucky which is why I am surprised you didn't do anything to her and let her such freedom."
"I am not as cruel as other people make me out to be. Beside, even if she tries to run away or come after us, I can handle it."
"What about my sister? Aren't you worried about her?"
"That should be my question. What do you feel about her? She was also an accomplice."
"She didn't know anything. I agree to take aprt in this ritual not the other way around, I think she has been looking after me all this time." Talia said with overzealousness.
"Oh? Have you two recognized each other as family?"
"I don't know, we never really had time to talk about those things. There is also something she has been hiding about our father. I never met or even heard about him but he doesn't seem like a good person."
"You can talk it out later for now, you need rest."
Since, Samara and Ariel will be busy he would be staying in the lower levels away from other prying eyes. They only need to stay here for the night, tomorrow he will hand over the whole base to Steve which he was already in contact with.
He gently laid her on the bed, tucking her to sleep. She wanted to talk more but she was too tired.
She was already pushing it when she rushed to his aid but now that she knew everything was over, she couldn't keep her eyes open for long and even slurring her words throughout the whole way they took to get on the lower levels.
"Sami?"
"Hmm."
"I am glad that you came to save me."
He touched her head lovingly, they really did start on the wrong foot maybe because there was little trust between them after all, she was an assassin sent to kill him!
"I am glad, I can make it." He didn't tell her about how much pain he was in or about their weird link. It could not be explained so he left it alone.
"Just go back to sleep, I will have something good ready when you wake up."
She wanted to say something but she passed out before she could do so but her hands never left his. No matter how much chaos was happening outside, for now he will not let anything affect her recovery.
