Chapter 1274: Reckoning-4
"I will not beg for my life. No matter what I did, I don't regret it. My only regret is not finishing what I started." Samara said regaining some of her previous radiance.
"Good, at least I know where you will be going after this." He stood up walking to where she was kneeling down.
The way he looked down on her was reflective of how he felt about her in his heart. It was clear, this person was responsible for hurting Talia which had made him restless but maybe in her own twisted world, she was only doing what she thought was right.
The ancient figure, Kali that she was inspired by seemed completely different and might not have appreciated what her descendents have down in her name but maybe that was their cursed fate born in such a unfair world.
Since he decided to punish her, he might as well take her hatred. He will make sure the people who indirectly caused so much suffering will get their due share but the irony was the ones responsible were already gone.
It was clear the revenge was not the right way, her obsession led to so much chaos just because she wanted to prove something, hatred will bring more hatred so he always tend to forgive his enemies after dealing with them. It was healthier for him to forget about them rather than to let them live inside his mind rent free!
"Take my life but let my people go-"
"You are not in any position to demand anything from me. Beside, these people knew what they were doing, I can only promise you that I will not harm those that are not connected to your crimes. What's more their families will stay in the dark about their crimes which is more than generous in my opinion." His voice was like rolling thunder, a final verdict which will not be broken.
Samara knew she was asking for too much. From start to finish, he didn't even put her in his eyes. She buily this place with her own hards after decades of hard work but it was dismantled by one man with strange powers!
Samuel could see her accepting her defeat as he was ready to finish up on his end. She didn't really desearve an easy death but he was not without mercy, for now his mind was on finding Talia and seeing if she was alright.
Just as he was ready to deliver the killing blow two figues entered the room. Ariel along with Talia who was being supported by her.
They took in the destruction and the unconscious people laying on the ground before noticing Samuel and Samara in the corner.
They had heard the commotion as they were just one level below them. Even thick walls were not able to dampen the constant barage of Plasma fire leading them to think Samuel was in trouble.
Talia couldn't bear to leave him alone while Ariel was confident, he would not go down so easily having tested him in the forest outside just few hours earlier.
But since Talia insisted, she had to accompany her or else she wouldn't be able to face Samuel beside, the doors would need her authentication codes to open.
"Master?" Ariel was shocked to see her all powerful master in such a sorry state.
"Sami!" Talia on the other hand only had eyes for him.
Samuel's cold aura faltered for a second, seeing her pitiful state he rushed to her side before scooping her off the ground. Maybe because the healing took a lot of toll on her body, she was light as a feather.
"Ariel..." Samara looked at her most prizes student.
Now that she had seen her wirh her own eyes, she knew her predictions about her betraying them was true but strangely she didn't hate her for it.
Over the years, the little girl that followed her around calling her master had grown up to be such a gracious woman. She had learned everything that Samara had taught her not to mention her loyalty toward the clan was impeccable up until now.
But even she knew before bringing Talia to the base, there would be some unexpected situations between these two half sisters.
Ariel always had a shadow in her heart because of her father, she might act cold and aloof but Samara whi had watched her grow knew the girl presented herself differently in front of others.
Beside after living for so long, she had grown fond of her adoptive daughter. Maybe her departure would give her incentive to finally let go of the past and live a little, just like those two.
She looked at Samuel and Talia hugging affectionately which made her a little sad but she also noticed how Ariel was looking at them, there was a strangeness in her eyes that she couldn't quite place.
"Master...are you alright?" Ariel decided no matter what she had to face her master's wrath now that they have met.
She had replayed this scene countless times in her head but she never understood how it would unfold beside no matter what happens, she had accepted her fate.
Samara knew it was not right for her to stay kneeling in front of Ariel. No matter what she did, she was still her master which meant she needed to have some basic sefl dignity.
"It was you wasn't it? You were the one that brought this monster to our place?" Her voice was not loud but anger in it couldn't be hidden.
Even Samuel and Talia stopped what they were doing to look at other two. Talia was worried about her sister but Samuel simply caressed her cheeks to let her know he had everything under control.
Ariel was not a push over beside the poison would not work on her instantly like Samara's other victims. He had ample ways to neutralize it but more than that, he had a feeling Samara would not harm her own student. She was not emitting any killing intent to begin with!
