Hero Hack: Reversing Heroes and Raising Harem

Chapter 356: The Screaming Boar

Velra touched the collar that she currently wore on her neck.

"Let's see what you can do," she murmured, her grin sharp.

[Velvet Demon God] passively activated, and immediately, the surrounding corrupted ether began to flow into her.

She could feel streams of corrosive energy drawn from the air and the ground, even faint traces leaking from distant creatures.

Her body drank it without effort, instantly converting it into her own [Velvet Demon Ether].

Her muscles tightened, strength humming through her veins.

Unlike her old abilities, this was passive, so she didn't have to consciously trigger or focus on it.

"Perfect," she whispered. "Now… time to hunt."

It didn't take long for her to find her first victim.

The earth shook with each thunderous step as a massive red-scaled boar emerged between the jagged rocks.

Its body was layered in overlapping crimson plates, massive horns curling forward like blades, steam hissing from its nostrils.

The moment its eyes locked on her, it roared, the sound rolling across the cracked wasteland.

Velra's smirk widened. "Good… you'll be my first victim."

She coated her legs in [Velvet Demon Ether], a faint, toxic pink haze swirling around her calves and thighs.

The boar snorted and immediately charged, flames bursting across its scaled body as it barreled toward her like a living battering ram.

Velra didn't flinch.

She waited until the last second, then slipped sideways with effortless grace.

The beast roared past her, its hooves gouging deep furrows into the earth.

The moment its flank passed her, she pivoted and unleashed a sharp guillotine kick straight into its jaw.

The impact snapped its head sideways, but it didn't break its bones.

Instead, the boar's eyes flared in rage.

Velra chuckled. "Tough scales… but I'm not here to split you open... yet."

Already, she could see it, the faint trembling in its steps, the subtle hitch in its breathing.

Her poison was working.

The boar recognized the intrusion in its body and snorted angrily. But it didn't slow.

This was the Devil Nest.

Poison was common, and a Supreme Rank beast like this had faced far worse. It had tolerance.

Or so it thought.

It roared again, flames flaring hotter, and charged once more.

This time, Velra didn't dodge early.

She waited until its horn was a hair's breadth from her chest before she stepped aside, her body twisting fluidly, her leg snapping upward into its ribs.

The attack barely left a mark, but the boar screamed.

Not the roar of a beast in battle, but a scream of raw pain. Its eyes went wide, panic flashing through them.

Velra's smirk turned feral. "Ohhh… so you're feeling it now?"

Her ether's second gift, heightened sensitivity, had taken hold.

Every nerve in the boar's body screamed at once, every movement sending lances of agony through it.

She circled it slowly, her eyes glinting in delight. "Scream for me, beast. Let me hear it again."

The boar's legs buckled momentarily, and it stumbled, trying to shake the sensation off.

But it couldn't. Its hide might stop blades, but not this.

Velra's laugh rang out over the battlefield. "We're just getting started."

The pink glow around her intensified as she channeled her [Velvet Demon Ether] with precise control.

The ether swirled into her hands, shaping into a massive, jagged-edged pair of pliers.

It was large enough to grip a section of the boar's armor-like scales.

The air around it shimmered faintly, the toxic energy bleeding off in waves.

She twirled the weapon in her hands with a sadistic grin. "Let's play."

The boar's eyes narrowed, its snout flaring.

With an enraged roar, it coated its body in an even thicker layer of fire, the heat distorting the air around it.

Sparks crackled off its horns as it lowered its head and charged, the ground trembling beneath each step.

Velra didn't flinch.

Instead, she sprang into the air at the last second, her body twisting gracefully above the beast's head.

Her heel, glowing with poisonous ether, came down in a brutal guillotine kick directly onto its flaming skull.

The force halted its charge mid-stride.

The boar staggered, its eyes squeezing shut as a guttural scream tore from its throat.

It was not from broken bones or torn flesh, but from the unbearable spike in pain sensitivity surging through its body.

Velra landed lightly, her smirk never fading. "Good… that was a nice scream."

Her voice dropped to a dark, teasing purr. "But it's not enough."

Without hesitation, she lunged forward, bringing the ether-forged pliers up to the side of its body.

Her eyes scanned along its crimson scales until she found a ridge, one that looked particularly stubborn.

"Let's see how loud you get… when I start descaling you."

The boar tried to jerk away, but Velra's grip was already locked.

The pliers clamped down with a sickening crunch, and she yanked hard.

A large plate of crimson armor tore free with a screech of ripping flesh and cracking keratin.

The boar's scream was deafening.

It stumbled to its knees, steam and blood hissing from the exposed patch of flesh.

Velra's grin widened. "Ohhh… that's more like it."

But she wasn't finished.

She stepped in again, ignoring the beast's desperate swing of its horn.

The pliers clamped down on another scale, and with another vicious pull.

crunch, rip! A second plate was gone.

The Supreme Devil's body shook violently, and cries echoed through the Devil Nest.

Velra's eyes gleamed with pleasure at the sound.

"Ahhh… music to my ears. But I know you can scream better than that."

She shifted her stance, tightening her grip on the ether-forged pliers.

With brutal precision, she ripped another scale free.

Then another, and another.

Each tear sent fresh waves of agony through the beast, its roars growing hoarse, desperate, and weak.

Velra didn't stop until the boar finally collapsed onto its side, its massive body shuddering.

It didn't pass out from blood loss.

But it was the sheer, unbearable torment that stole its consciousness.

She straightened, twirling the pliers once before letting them dissolve back into glowing pink ether.

"What a weak devil," she scoffed, planting a boot on its side. "But still… you'll serve a purpose."

Her eyes traced over the scale-less, steaming flesh.

"Without that armor, your meat will be tender… and juicy."

Velra grabbed the unconscious beast by the horn with a satisfied smirk before leaving it to hunt other devils.
