Chapter 355: Velra’s New Skin
The collar in Zain's hand began to shift, its surface rippling like liquid metal.
The dull design melted away, replaced by a sleek, refined form.
Pure black wrapped around its frame, etched with glowing pink lines that pulsed faintly.
It was a perfect fit for Velra, matching her signature colours of pink and black and radiating an alluring and dangerous aura.
Zain held it out to her, his smirk calm but confident. "This is your new collar."
"Once you wear it, your new powers will flow straight into your body. You'll instantly know exactly what they are… and how to use them."
Velra's eyes lit up with satisfaction.
She took the collar in both hands, running her fingers along its smooth surface.
A sly smile curved her lips. "Thank you, Zain."
But just as the glow on the collar pulsed to life, Zain's body swayed before collapsing forward.
"Zain!" Velra quickly caught him, her arms tightening as she steadied his weight.
Zelia and Savra stepped forward instantly, both frowning. "What happened?"
Zain gave a small, strained chuckle. "Don't worry. This… is just the cost of making that collar."
"The abilities I infused into it were too powerful. It drained every last drop of my ether. Right now, I'm running on empty."
Without another word, Velra lifted him with ease and carried him toward the master bedroom of the newly restored Heavenly Demon Mansion.
The massive chamber was more than a room.
It symbolised dominance with a towering bed draped in dark silk and high windows that let moonlight spill across the floor.
It also had enough space for… many kinds of 'night activities,' should the master wish it.
She laid him gently onto the bed, adjusting the pillows behind his head.
Zain's eyes were half-opened, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
Zain's crimson eyes half-opened, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.
"Don't worry too much. I just need a good rest."
"In the meantime, go hunt for some devils… bring me a decent meal so I can restore my energy."
The three girls straightened instantly.
Velra grinned. "Don't worry, Zain. I'll catch enough devils for you to snack on."
Savra's lips curled. "And I'll cook you something worthy of the Heavenly Demon."
Zelia adjusted her sword. "I'll make sure every piece is bite-sized so you don't even need to lift a hand."
Zain gave them a satisfied smile before closing his eyes, drifting toward sleep.
The three stepped out into the grand hall.
Velra halted in the centre, turning to the other two. "You two stay here and wait for me."
Savra raised an eyebrow. "Why go alone?"
Velra's gaze dropped to the sleek black-and-pink collar in her hand, a smirk tugging at her lips.
"Because I just got new powers from Zain… and I want to test them."
"Considering how drained he was after making this, it must be overwhelming strong. Let me handle this hunt."
Savra chuckled. "I see… good for you, then."
Velra's smirk widened as she slowly fastened the collar around her neck.
"Let's see just how powerful the abilities my Master gave me are."
The moment the collar clicked into place, it pulsed with light.
Her entire outfit dissolved into shimmering particles, scattering into the air.
Savra blinked. "What the—?!"
Zelia's jaw slackened, her face heating up.
Velra just laughed, tilting her head. "Pervert, are we?"
But before either of them could speak again, streams of black material flowed out from the collar, coating her body in a skin-tight bodysuit.
Glowing pink lines ran along her curves, pulsing faintly.
Over her shoulders, a short velvet jacket materialised, matching her colour scheme perfectly.
The design had a sleek, almost futuristic style, hugging her figure while still allowing full mobility.
Velra ran her hands over the suit, grinning.
"Hah… a built-in wardrobe function. With this, I don't ever need to buy new clothes again."
Savra smirked. "And it makes it faster if you want to strip for Zain."
Velra gave her a knowing smile, while Zelia looked away with a flushed face.
"I… I'm going to the kitchen." She quickly left, muttering under her breath.
Velra and Savra shared an amused look. Savra tilted her head. "So? What kind of power did he give you?"
Velra's grin deepened as she glanced at her status screen.
"It's perfect… made for me. Exactly the kind of power a sadist dreams of."
Savra crossed her arms, one brow arched, her tone dripping with curiosity.
"So? Going to share the details, or are you going to keep teasing me?"
Velra's grin widened, and she slowly dragged her tongue across her lips.
"Later. I'm not spoiling the surprise just yet."
Savra tilted her head. "Why not?"
"Because," Velra said, her voice dropping into a low, almost hungry purr.
"First, I need to see exactly what this new power can do. I'll be back soon…"
"And when I return, I'll bring plenty of prey for Zain… and for us to play with."
Savra smirked knowingly. "Good. Don't forget… bring a lot. I'm talking about a feast, Velra."
Velra's eyes gleamed with sharp, predatory glee, her smile curling like a blade.
"Oh, I will. I'll make sure you and Zelia have enough to cook, carve, and serve…"
"Though I can't promise they'll still be in one piece when I drag them back."
Savra's grin widened, a spark of anticipation in her gaze.
"That's fine by me. Just ensure they're still breathing to make their taste fresher and better."
Velra chuckled darkly as she turned toward the towering gates.
"Then get ready. I'll turn the whole damn hunting ground upside down if I have to…"
"And when I'm done, we'll have more meat than we know what to do with."
Savra leaned back slightly, arms still crossed.
"Go on, then, huntress. Let's see if Zain's gift made you as dangerous as you think."
Velra glanced over her shoulder one last time, her eyes shimmering excitedly.
"Oh, it did. You'll hear their screams before you even see me coming."
And with that, she stepped out, her figure melting into the shadows like a predator loosed into the wild.
