Chapter 277.Not recruiting any more members till further notice .
The room had descended into a suffocating, palpable silence.
Ribo sighed deeply at this point, breaking the silence. "What sort of monster is this guy?"
He had just finished watching the videos of all Kailen's feats in the area of combat. Also, Enna had just informed him of the alchemical displays of this guy. He couldn't help but admit that the guy was a monster in every sense possible.
"So he's the fucker that killed our niece, huh?"
Enna was not surprised that this bastard was just finding out about Kailen Darkhaven. He was just too lazy to do anything. He could literally sleep for one year if given the chance to do so.
No one in the Harkers' society had dared to wake him up, because the last time the vice president tried to, the price the person paid was literally not worth it.
Ribo would have taken action against Darkhaven if he knew about the death of his niece. He was a lazy fatso, but there was one thing that he couldn't tolerate.
He was a patriotic Harker, who wouldn't sit idle, especially when his niece had been killed by someone walking the streets of the academy freely.
"From everything you've told me so far, if I challenge him to a life-and-death battle right now, he will reject the offer. He's not stupid. The only way to get rid of him is when he is on an academy mission," Ribo said, scratching his voluptuous chin.
Enna nodded. "That is exactly why I came here, younger cousin. I want you to personally take action against him when he's on a mission in one of the daunting regions of the academy, where communication is cut off.
He will be forced to fight with you in that situation, and you can get rid of him," she furthered.
"This guy's growing at an astonishing pace, and with the feud he has with us, it's only a matter of time before he comes seeking revenge if allowed to grow any stronger.
The bastard even has the backing of the Long Hai Training Hall and the Alchemy Society in addition.
These two powers are terrifying enough backers that will make getting rid of him outside academy territory not worth it, as the risks in offending these powers are too much.
The only way to nip him in the bud is in the academy, where backings really have no important role here."
Ribo nodded. "Very well. It will be done. I will have some fellas monitor him from now on. The moment he takes on a mission outside the academy, I will get rid of him."
Enna nodded in satisfaction. "Thank you, cousin."
Without saying another word, she disappeared.
"I hate it when she does that. Always bolting off after saying what she wants."
Ribo chuckled lightly, then added. "I guess I won't be snoring for a while from now. Tsk! What a hustle. Kailen Darkhaven, huh. Hopefully he's able to entertain me enough before he dies."
*****
"Hey, is that Kailen Darkhaven?"
"He's finally here?"
"Why is he with Pan Halfoy?"
"Don't tell me Pan Halfoy is ready to defect societies to join the Sword Tribunal Society?"
"But won't that affect him? He will become a rank 1 beginner stage Ascendant Level lifeform in the end, right?"
"Yeah, I heard the members of the Arcane Society sign this rune oath that makes them turn into rank 1 beginner stage Ascendant Level lifeforms if they ever decide to leave the society or the sect."
Kailen couldn't help but overhear the conversations around him as he made way silently towards the entrance of the Arcane Society building with Pan Halfoy, under the gazes and discussions of several people—even those utilizing concealing techniques to hide themselves, including Xyra Ashton and even Tyrax Tantamount.
However, he ignored them completely. His intrigue and interest in Pan Halfoy, however, grew stronger.
Why would this guy want to make such a sacrifice to join the Sword Tribunal Society? He was currently a rank 4 intermediate stage Ascendant Level lifeform, right?
Even Kailen couldn't help but be puzzled at the daring nature of this guy. This was a big risk Pan Halfoy was taking, no matter the angle you looked at it from.
If the society were to suddenly collapse one day, or Kailen Darkhaven were to lose his life, wouldn't this risk be in vain?
Of course, Kailen knew nothing of this sort was gonna happen to him or the society. It was just that he was trying to view why someone would take that kind of risk from a layman's perspective.
There was only one reason why Pan Halfoy would make such a decision. He had unwavering belief in Kailen's abilities.
"Interesting. He won't regret this decision though. That is certain," Kailen mused to himself.
When they finally reached the entrance of the society building, several hundred people were engaged in conversations with one another. These were the individuals who had managed to register themselves as the first hundred members of the society, after gruesome clashes with other individuals, except a few who literally just walked towards the society building without anyone daring to get in their way.
They were individuals from different races.
Kailen's eyes landed on two individuals he had recently interacted with. Esimo Ashton and Everlong Atrexia. What were they doing here? Didn't their families have societies on campus?
"Hehe. Shocked about these two, right?" Lian Yu sent a thought transmission to Kailen.
Kailen replied with a thought transmission. "Yeah, kind of. Anyway, tell the new members to come inside the building. The rest can go back to where they came from. We are not recruiting any more members till further notice."
Kailen entered the interior of the building with Pan Halfoy.
Lian Yu stood before the large crowd, ignored them, then announced politely to the new society members, "Fellow society members, please come inside."
The society members did not stand on ceremony, entering the building.
Lian Yu turned to look at the large crowd as the 100 new society members moved into the building. "On the orders of the President, we are not accepting any further society members until further notice. Thank you for your patience."
With that, Lian Yu disappeared into the building, leaving the crowd outside the building shocked.
