HDXD: Omni Harem System

Chapter 226: Ichora

The frozen valley stretched out like a desolate canvas, painted in shades of white and red under the ethereal light of the aurora borealis.

"Hagaaaa...

She breath out a cloud of cold air.

As she swing both hands cleaning the slimy partially hardening blood from the blades in hand.

"Disgusting."

Moca said as she stood at the epicenter of the chaos she had wrought, her lithe figure silhouetted against the swirling snowflakes that where falling hard and constant.

Her crimson eyes swept across the battlefield with a detached emotion. Hundreds of slug corpses littered the ground, their once-formidable crystalline bodies now reduced to shattered sculptures, or in peices.

The air was thick with the metallic tang of blood and the acrid scent of cryogenic slime, bile of their innards that flood the cold ground, or what counts as innards for them atleast.

The ground was a mosaic of gore, viscous trails of slime frozen mid-flow, mingled with shards of ice that sparkled like macabre jewels.

Blood coated Moca from head to toe... Some her own as a result of minor cuts seeping a dark, viscous red; and the majority being the slugs own blood, which was a shade of sickly brighter red that had hardened into brittle shards clinging to her skin due to cold.

"That's that I guess."

She muttered, her voice cool and detached, as if the massacre had been nothing more than a minor inconvenience.

The last echoes of violence faded, leaving only the blizzard's howl. She needed to get back to the base; a warm bath sounded like the perfect way to wash away the filth and tension. Her shadows began move at her command, ready to envelop her in a veil of darkness for a swift teleport.

She had mark Rex shadow, a gateway to base.

But before she could vanish, her heart skipped a beat.

BADUMP!!

Her senses increase in that moment.

As fear began to took over.

Her usually expressionless face faltered, a rare flicker of unease crossing her sharp features.

"I-It c-cant BEEE!?"

She shouted in shocked, as her body turned towards the direction of power that made her uneasy.

From the west, an immense surge of Blood Astrum built up, thick and oppressive, like a tidal wave of crimson energy crashing against her senses. It was raw, potent, and familiar in a way that sent chills down her spine.

"What is Father's Great Spirit doing here?"

She whispered, her voice barely audible over the wind, as she began to whisper to herself even more

"Could someone actually be strong enough to contract the same spirit as father?"

The sheer volume of Blood Astrum was overwhelming, a bottomless reservoir that made her knees tremble despite her iron will.

Great Ichora wasn't just any entity, it was the embodiment of the Law of Blood across the Entire Astrum Field, a primordial force that governed life essence itself.

Summoning it required power beyond most mortals, and here, in this frozen exam hell among mere students, she has descended. And it didn't make sense.

But before she could delve deeper into the mystery, as to why such a being had descended, or who the hell among these academy kids could wield it.

A set of footsteps crunched through the snow, approaching from ever closer to her.

Moca snapped back to composure, her shadows settling back where it belongs as she turned. It was Catherina, the frontline team leader, flanked by a couple of the other girls who had retreated earlier.

Their wounds were already mending, faint glows of healing magic lingering on their skin.

"Moca! Are you okay?"

Catherina called out, her eyes wide with shock and weariness as she took in the sea of dead slugs. The other girls, Mira and Peirce, nodded in concern, their weapons still drawn but lowered.

Moca nodded curtly, her expression smoothing back to its usual aloof mask.

"I'm fine."

These girls couldn't sense the Blood Astrum; she could already tell they lacked the affinity for Astrum in general, let alone the Greater Spectrum of Blood Magic.

To detect Great Ichora's presence, you would need a direct contract with the spirit itself, or be part of the Cain family, like her, exploiting that ancient loophole in the bloodlines. Thankfully, it kept the panic contained to her alone.

If they could had in theory even sense what she was feeling at this moment, without a doubt they would without a doubt go mad with fear.

"We healed up as fast as we could and came back to help with the waves."

Mira added, glancing around at the devastation.

"But... damn, you took them all out by yourself? No effort at all. That is insane."

Pierce whistled low.

"Yeah, we were ready for a fight, but it looks like you didn't need us."

But Catherina wasn't so dull as the rest, as she tilted her head, noticing the subtle tension in Moca's stance.

The way her fists clenched just a fraction tighter, her slightly worried eyes.

A rare moment of worry, a such she questioned Moca.

"You sure you're okay? You look... tense. Are you hurt anywhere?"

Moca shook her head, brushing off a chunk of frozen blood from her shoulder. It crumbled to the ground like brittle glass.

"Just uncomfortable from being coated in this frozen blood and bile from those alien slugs. I need a warm water bath...badly."

The girls exchanged glances, then burst into light laughter. Catherina wrinkled her nose playfully.

"Yeah, you do kinda smell like a battlefield slaughterhouse. No offense. We're already setting up a hot bath back at the cabin, the support team got the water wards going. Wanna join us? It's big enough for a few."

"Well that is if you don't mind bathing with commoners that is."

She said nervously as she looked Moca.

Unlike the most of them, she was from a very renown family, unlike them.

Moca considered it for a moment, then shrugged. No reason to refuse; the company might distract her from the lingering dread.

"Fine... Lead the way."

With that, they turned back toward the base, the girls chatting lightly about the fight as they trudged through the snow.

Moca lagged a step behind, her gaze flicking westward one last time. That bottomless pit of Blood Astrum still pulsed in her senses, a dark cloud of unease cover her.

'What the hell is even happening out there?'

She tried to shove it down, focusing on the path ahead, but the unease gnawed at her like a persistent shadow.

By the time they reached the cabin, the storm had eased just a bit, the Nature-magic walls glowing warmly against the night.

The group slipped inside, weaving through the bustling students tallying points and repairing gear. Most just enjoying their meals after a good hunt.

The bath area was tucked in a expanded chamber on the lower level, or rather just another level like a extra large basement below, spacious, steamy, and warded with heat spells that turned the water into a soothing oasis.

The girls stripped down without much fuss, sinking into the large wooden tub with sighs of relief.

Catherina, ever the bold one, slid up behind Moca as she eased into the water, her hands playfully cupping Moca's breasts from behind.

"Gods, how do you even have these? So big and firm, it's unfair! What's your secret?"

Moca didn't flinch, her crimson eyes half-lidded in the steam. She glanced down at Catherina's own ample figure pressing against her back.

"You have a good pair yourself. Not everyone needs to be oversized."

Catherina laughed, giving a gentle squeeze before letting go.

"I think so too, but hey, they could always be a little larger you know. Imagine the looks we would get back at the academy."

Mira, lounging on the opposite side with her hair pinned up, grinned mischievously.

"Speaking of looks... we should play a game to pass the time. Something fun to unwind."

Pierce perked up, splashing water lightly.

"Ooh, yeah! Like 'Marry, Fuck, Kill'? kind of like Smash or Pass."

"Hmmm that is not a bad idea at all."

Catherina said as she swing her head back, and relax, it was Moca who asked.

"What Marry, Fuck, Kill!?"

She asked loss as vampires like herself doesn't have such games back home.

This caught the attention of the other girls, suprise that she doesn't know what Marry, Fuck, Kill was.

Mira's jaw dropped, her eyes widening in shock.

"Wait, you don't know what 'Marry, Fuck, Kill' is?"

She exclaimed, leaning forward, water rippling around her.

"Moca, do you live under a rock or something it is a popular trend on social media, especially Infatube and Aurora! Everyone plays it, given it is a spin off from 'Smash or Pass'!"

Pierce grinned, flicking water playfully at Moca.

"It's easy... We name three guys, and you pick who you would marry, who you would you hook up with, and who you would kill."

Moca's crimson eyes narrowed, her annoyance increasing, yet slightly intrigued.

"Sounds... trivial. But fine, I'll indulge in this game."

Her voice held a skeptical edge, yet intrigue flickered beneath.

Catherina clapped, splashing eagerly.

"Awesome! Rex, Kael, Rance...Moca, you're first. Spill it!"

In that moment, Moca had already loss all intrest in the game as she replied.

"None... I am to bed or seeded by a man, it has to be by truly exceptional specimen."

She said as she hold her belly taking the other girl by suprise.

"...Ahhh, I see...

Catherina nervously laughed as she could tell Moca was taking this game a tad bit too serious.

Still she could tell this girl doesn't get out much.

As such she reworded her statement.

"Haaa... Someone strong eh, Kael is strong as hell, but it would seem he doesn't move you."

Then Mira commented.

"If your talking about strength them you don't get any stronger than our current Overlord, he is the strongest Human, hell all Overlord past, present, and Future will always be the strongest Human."

She commented.

But Peirce stepped in and said.

"From our Academy, the strongest here would be the Head Mistress, but it's her fiancée the president that is truly monsterous."

"Pr-Prez Adam."

Moca said with a slight blush.

And the girls didn't miss this as they all looked at each other and smile mischievously.
