HDXD: Omni Harem System

Chapter 217: This is A Military School

Adam walked into Nyx's office, the heavy wooden door with its gleaming gold plates swinging shut behind him with a soft thud.

The room was a striking blend of advanced technology and understated elegance, a reflection of Nyx gothic and modern taste itself showed in the design of it's interior's.

The walls were lined with sleek, chrome panels that shimmered faintly under the ambient light, embedded with holographic displays that cycled through star charts, planetary data, and live feeds from various sectors of the galaxy.

A massive, curved window dominated the far wall, offering a breathtaking view of New Hera Academy's sprawling campus, its spires piercing the starlit sky.

The floor was a polished black tiles, as Nyx love the shiney look, and smooth feel they offer, streaked with veins of glowing violet like her eyes that radiates softly.

This simple feature to them really bring out the otherworldly feel of her office.

Meanwhile A minimalist desk of transparent alloy sat at the center, cluttered with holographic interfaces and a single, ornate crystal tablet that vibrate with energy.

The air carried a faint scent of sweet lavender, a scent Adam has gotten used to ove the years he has been with Nyx.

Between Lavender, and Mint incense, Nyx really loved sweet smelling things to dominate the environment she is in.

As he stepped further in, his eyes were drawn to the figure seated at the desk, a woman with glowing violet eyes and jet-black hair cascading over her shoulders like a waterfall.

It was none other than Nyx of course, her presence was as stunning as ever.

Seeing her, Adam's lips curved into a warm smile, and Nyx, noticing his presence this time, looked up from the crystal tablet she had been studying.

Her gaze softened, the violet glow of her eyes brightening as their eyes met, and they exchanged a quiet, knowing smile.

Adam didn't bother hiding his approach; there was no need for stealth with her this time around. He crossed the room in a few confident strides, leaned down, and kissed her, his lips brushing hers, as they tongues meet, in a furious passion.

As their kiss broke, Adam moved behind her, his arms sliding around her shoulders in a gentle embrace, his chin resting lightly against her hair.

"What're you up to, love?"

He asked, his voice low and teasing, his breath warm against her ear.

Nyx leaned back into him slightly, her fingers still hovering over the tablet's interface.

"I am.reviewing the planetary assignments for the entry exam one last time."

She said, her tone both professional and easy going in this moment.

Right after she continued to speak.

"Each testing ground has been prepped with hundreds of drones... Their types being combat, surveillance, and environmental. Every planet has its own unique terrain too and… and let's just call them for this event xeno-ecological hazards."

Nyx said to Adam, after all, this was something she was preparing for months.

And by the looks of it, she was really enjoying herself.

"Hmm, I guess those planets the exam will take place in, are probably outside the safe zone of the Solar System right?"

"They are not even in our solar system but yeah, they are all interstellar bodies. However we have studied then for a while, so we know the dangers is something the student's could handle with enough effort."

"Besides, my elite instructors are overseeing the feeds, ensuring everything is in place. The exam itself is straightforward too... All these brats need to do is survive thirty-one standard cycles. And gain points accrue based on specialized eliminations...the more dangerous the xenoform, the higher the score. I am also constantly monitoring the live feeds now, watching how the environments are behaving. So it goes without saying the participants are good as safe under my watchful eyes."

Her fingers moved across the tablet, pulling up a grid of holographic screens that displayed various planets.

Jagged, volcanic landscapes, dense bio-luminescent jungles, and frozen tundras crawling with movement.

Each feed showed drones weaving through the terrain, cataloging alien lifeforms and environmental data live.

Adam's curiosity piqued, and he tilted his head, his arms still loosely around her.

"Which rock did you stick me with?"

He asked, with a playful tone to his voice.

Nyx's lips twitched into a smirk as she tapped the tablet, pulling up a new feed.

The holographic display shifted to an interstellar view of a planet, its surface split starkly between blinding light and inky darkness.

"C-6372."

She said, her voice taking on a clinical tone.

"A tidally locked world, one hemisphere eternally scorched by its star, the other frozen in perpetual night. It's surface gravity's is twenty times Earth-standard, though the exam bracelets come equipped with anti-grav tech to level the playing field."

"The real challenge is the atmosphere, given that the oxygen levels on this planet are so high, they're borderline toxic to unadapted humans. It's fostered some fascinating megafauna. Alongside two dominant xeno lifeforms local to the planet for millions of years."

Nyx explained as she continued her explanation.

"On the sunlit side, you've got saurian-class reptiles, hyper-reactive to stimuli, with neural response times that make them a nightmare in close quarters. While on the dark side, there is a hive-mind slug species...cryo-kinetic lifeforms, capable of manipulating ice and fusing into larger, composite forms for coordinated attacks."

Adam raised an eyebrow, unfazed. He shrugged lightly, his arms still around her.

"Twenty times gravity? Isn't that just child's play."

"Well sorry to disappoint, but your training with your sisters is not normal by any human metric. Even the Hellsing family training for hunters are not as brutal as yours. So don't go expecting some Hell hole for the exam, to you this might be child play, but for most here, it was basically a warzone."

Nyx said to Adam.

Who just shrugged it off, while saying.

"Fair point...Minerva did had me training in ten-thousand-G when I was a kid. My bones are basically starship hulls at this point."

He grinned, but his tone grew thoughtful.

"The oxygen toxicity, though… that's gonna mess with the students. How're they supposed to handle that?"

Nyx tilted her head back to meet his gaze, her violet eyes glinting with a mix of pride and mischief.

"The exam bracelets aren't just for show you know. Given it is mandatory to even attend this school, once given, and properly equipt, they will inject trillions of adaptive nanomites into the bloodstream.... it's a new tech father wanted hunter to implement... given they are microscopic biotech that rewires the body's physiology in real-time."

"The nanomites will help evolve the immune system and metabolic processes to counter any hostile interstellar conditions, from toxic atmospheres to extreme pressures. By the time the students set foot on C-6372, their bodies will be optimized for the environment. It's not perfect going to be perfect at first, but it's enough to keep them fighting."

Adam let out a low whistle, his hands resting lightly on her shoulders.

"Nanomites huh? Fancy. Still, this is a military academy, not a nature hike. You're throwing kids into a meat grinder with giant lizards and ice-slugs just to test their grit, still it they are going to fight demons, I can see why the nightmarish training from the getgo"

When Nyx's heard these words her expression hardened, though her voice remained calm.

"This isn't just a test, Adam. It's basically my bullshit excuse of early conditioning. Still for the Nanomites to properly integrate with them, they students will need to be under constant stress."

"They're training to face cultists, demons, and every manner of supernatural entity that crawls out of the void. If they can't handle a few xenoforms on a controlled planet, they're not ready for what's out there."

"The nanomites, the anti-grav tech, it's all there to give them a fighting chance, but the priority is creating super soldier that is build like indestructible fortress. Body and mind, they need to be unbreakable."

Adam nodded slowly, his gaze drifting to the holographic feed of C-6372.

"That I agree on, Demons aren't simple creatures either."

He intoned.

As he watches the planet he was going to take his exam on loomed in the display, half ablaze in blinding light, half shrouded in endless shadow.

He could already picture the chaos, the searing heat, the bone-chilling cold, the massive creatures stalking through both extremes.

A faint smirk tugged at his lips.

"Guess Minerva's hellish training sessions are finally paying off. This'll be a walk in the park for me though still, I love violence of all kind even if this is way to easy for someone of my caliber. The others, though… I am going to enjoy watching them suffer."

He trailed off, his thoughts flickering to Xeres and the other students.

"They're gonna need more than nanites to survive a month out there. But I want to see the chickies grow into hungry Phoenix."

Nyx turned slightly in her chair, her violet eyes locking onto his.

"They'll adapt, or they'll fail, it is as simple as that, for the most part, as the exams will trim the weed from flowers."

"That is the whole point of this you know."

"I know still I guess is can play with the bibis."

He said that last bit in playful voice.

"Hahaha... Enough teasing, by the way, did you brought your weapon with you ."

"Of course, I also have my magic swords, and demonic arms too, you know I don't enter combat without them."
