HDXD: Omni Harem System

Chapter 216: Meeting Xeres For The First Time

The air in the combat yard crackled with tension, the crowd's murmurs fading into a hushed silence as Adam's voice cut through it like a blade.

His presence alone shifted the tone of the atmosphere, the importance of his authority as The Student Council President and a Van Hellsing settling over the scene like a dangerous storm cloud.

The students currently here parted instinctively, creating a clear path for him as he stepped into the clearing, his sharp eyes flicking between Xeres and the hazel-haired noble.

The noble, caught off guard, stiffened, his sneer faltering for a split second before he forced it back into place.

He tried to get control over the situation, by being the one that initiated the conversation.

"President Hellsing."

He said, his tone dripping with false respect.

"This is just a minor disagreement. No need for you to get involved."

Adam's gaze didn't waver.

He crossed his arms, his posture relaxed but radiating a quiet aura of pure intimidation, that made the noble's bravado seem brittle in comparison.

"A minor disagreement doesn't draw a crowd like this."

He said, his voice low.

But he made the conversation continued when he brought up a topic of greater concern.

"And it doesn't involve accusations of sexual harassment. So, let's hear it... What is your side of the story young noble?"

The hazel-haired boy, whose golden-threaded uniform marked him as someone from a high-ranking family, straightened his posture, puffing out his chest.

"This commoner!"

He spat, jabbing a finger toward Xeres.

"...Is blowing things way out of proportion. I was just talking to Lady Tia, and he comes out of nowhere, and start acting like some kind of knight in shining armor. It is ridiculous!"

Xeres didn't flinch, his neon blue eyes cold and unyielding just watch the lying noble, as he make his comeback.

"Talking?"

He said, his voice sharp enough to cut glass.

"You cornered her behind the training pavilion and wouldn't let her leave. She was scared, and you laughed it off... That is not talking you pervert."

The crowd shifted uncomfortably, whispers rippling through the onlookers. Adam's expression remained unreadable, but his eyes flicked to Xeres, taking in the boy's unwavering stance. He had played HDXD enough to know Xeres wasn't one to back down, especially when it came to protecting someone.

The guy was a textbook hero...stubborn, righteous, and just reckless enough to make things interesting, in some of the most horrible of times.

Still as the President, he needed to de-escalate this situation, and he needed to do it fast.

"Cornering someone isn't a good look."

Adam said, turning his attention back to the noble.

"Name?"

He ordered.

The noble hesitated, clearly unused to being questioned so directly.

"Cyrus Vayne."

He said finally, his voice tinged with pride.

"Of House Vayne. My family are known for...

"I didn't ask for your family history."

Adam interrupted, his tone flat.

"I asked for your name. Now, explain yourself. Did you or did you not corner Tia?"

Cyrus's jaw tightened, his green eyes flashing with indignation.

"I was just… flirting. She was overreacting, and this commoner was just making it worse. He has got no right to interfere in my business."

Adam's lips twitched into a faint, humorless smile.

He already knows what take place here, Cyrus lying could not make him anymore obvious.

As such he responded back to him, by saying.

"Flirting doesn't involve trapping someone. And Xeres here."

He nodded toward the black-haired boy.

"Has every right to call you out if you're crossing lines. New Hera Academy doesn't play favorites, noble or not, you must follow the rules of our establishment."

Cyrus's face reddened, his fists clenching tighter.

"You're taking his side? A nobody over a Vayne of people?!"

"I'm not taking sides."

Adam said, his voice hardening.

"I'm getting answers. As a matter of fact where is Lady Tia now?"

Xeres spoke up, his tone calmer but still firm.

"She is with her friends by the dorms. I told her to stay there until this gets sorted out."

Adam nodded, approving of Xeres's quick thinking.

"Good. I'll check on her later."

He turned back to Cyrus, his gaze piercing.

"Here is how this works, Vayne, I am going to ask Tia, and check the security camera to determine your innocents, if you protest against my decision. If found guilty you're going to apologize to Tia publicly, in front of the dorms after the exams. And you're going to do it like you mean it. If I hear even a whisper of you pulling this kind of stunt again, you'll be answering to the Head Mistress."

"Of course, all of this could be avoided now, if you apologize to her now, and admit that you where in the wrong."

Cyrus mouth opened, then closed, his arrogance crumbling under Adam's unrelenting stare. Finally, he muttered.

"Fine... I'll apologize."

"Make it convincing."

Adam said, his tone leaving no room for argument.

"And you're on probation until the exam is over. One more slip-up, and you're out of here."

The crowd buzzed with quiet approval, some students exchanging glances. Cyrus's face burned with humiliation and anger, he was going to get his revenge but not here, there is little he can do against a Van Hellsing, but this commoner will be easy picking s, but to not aggravated the President more he nodded stiffly and turned to leave, shoving past a few onlookers as he stormed off.

Adam's eyes followed him for a moment before shifting to Xeres.

"You!"

He said, his voice softening just enough to lose its edge.

"Walk with me."

Xeres blinked, clearly surprised, but he fell into step beside Adam as the crowd began to disperse, whispering about the confrontation. The two walked in silence for a moment, the night air cool against their skin as they moved away from the combat yard toward the quieter paths of the academy.

"You didn't have to step in."

Xeres said finally, his voice low but not ungrateful.

"I had it handled."

Adam snorted, a faint smirk tugging at his lips.

"Sure you did. But a noble like Vayne? He is not someone a commoner can handle, he got connections. If you start a fight, and it's not just him you're dealing with, it is his whole family breathing down your neck. You're a commoner, Xeres. You've got to play smarter, not harder."

Hearing this, he looked at Adam, and said.

"How did you know my name?!"

He asked shocked.

Adam just chuckled as his replied subtly.

"I know the names of all my special special admission students."

"Ahh, I see... So are you like a teacher or something?!"

"No I am the Student Council President, a position that basically make me higher than a teacher, but that aside I will be joining classes like everyone else, when I am not busy of course."

Xeres's brow furrowed, his neon blue eyes narrowing slightly.

"Ok Prez."

He responded back with respect.

But his eyes went back to Adam again, as he said.

"Still I find it kind of strange that you help me."

"Why so?!"

"Because nobles often time take up for their kind."

"Hahaha."

Adam chuckled at Xeres statement.

As he stopped walking, turning to face Xeres fully. The moonlight cast sharp shadows across his face, making his expression harder to read.

"Don't get it twisted, I am not as self centered as the average noble."

He said simply.

"And I also only helped you because you're right...Tia didn't deserve what she true with the Vayne boy... But don't get it twisted either. I am not your friend, and I am not here to hold your hand. You want to play hero? Fine. Just don't expect me to clean up your messes every time."

Xeres met his gaze, unflinching.

But Adam did had a good point as such, he responded back by saying.

"I don't expect you to. I can handle my own fights, but thanks for today nonetheless."

"Good."

Adam said, his smirk returning.

"You'll need to, especially with the exam coming up. Something tells me you're not the type to sit back and let others take the spotlight, but still something tell me Cyrus is not going to let you off easy for today humiliation."

"A noble never does."

Xeres coldly replied back, but seeing this, Adam walked passed him, and place a hands on his shoulder and said.

"Well I'm either case, just watch your back. Apart from that have good night Xeres. And I will see you in a hour or so at that teleporter."

With that Adam began to walked away, leaving Xeres behind, who gave him a confused look from behind as if trying to size him up.

"What a weird a guy."

Xeres said while rubbing the back of his head, meanwhile, Adam now make his way to the final place before he starts his exams.

He was infront of a wooden door with gold plates on it's front, marking the words "Head Mistress" office.

Without saying another word, Adam open the door without knocking, and step into Nyx work place.
