Harry Potter: I'm an Exemplary Student

Chapter 28: Wand-Lighting Charm

Kyle didn't know much about Cho Chang, Cedric's future girlfriend, and Harry Potter's White Moonlight. Kyle had never been in contact with her.

All Kyle knew was that she was in Ravenclaw.

But now there's one more thing… helpful.

After all, not every Ravenclaw will take the initiative to help others. They prefer to immerse themselves in their own world and think about academics or other matters.

Of course, this does not mean that people in Ravenclaw are all indifferent, but they have different personalities. If someone asks them for help, Ravenclaw is also very willing to provide help.

To put it simply, do not take the initiative and do not refuse.

Cho Chang was talking to his friends beside her, so Kyle just glanced at her and looked away.

"This is the first class. What should I do in the future? I can't go out an hour early every time."

Next to him, Mikel grabbed his hair and said with some collapse. "If this continues, I will be late one day."

"Don't worry, professors at Hogwarts will not expel students for being late. At most, they will only deduct points." Kyle patted his shoulder and comforted him. "By the way, I have something good to show you."

"Good one?"

Mikel and Ryan came over curiously.

Kyle took out the map and spread it on the table. "Thank to Cedric, otherwise you will really be lost for a while."

"This is...a map of Hogwarts?"

Mikel was still wondering what it was, but Ryan, who had a wizard father in his family, recognized it at a glance and said in surprise. "Where did you get it from? Can you let me make a copy? I promise to return it after class."

"Of course, we are roommates!" Kyle nodded, then turned to look at Mikel and said. "What about you, do you want to copy it?"

Mikel was slightly moved but still shook his head after thinking about it.

Entering the Wizarding World for the first time, he didn't want to waste any opportunity to learn magic, let alone such a vital subject as Charms.

"Can I wait until after class to copy?" Mikel asked.

"That's it, no problem."

Kyle nodded, then lightly tapped the wand on the map. "Geminio."

After the spell was completed, an identical map appeared on the table.

Kyle picked it up and looked at it twice. After making sure it was okay, he handed it to Mikel.

"Here you go, the magic on this should last for about a week. You can copy it whenever you want."

"???"

Mikel took the map with a confused look and subconsciously turned his head to look at Ryan, who also looked confused.

Ryan was numb. He looked at Kyle and then at the parchment in front of him. His face felt hot. Just when he was about to say something, a voice suddenly came from in front of them.

"Nice Doubling Charm, five points for Hufflepuff!"

Kyle was startled and raised his head suddenly but only looked at Cho Chang opposite him. When he looked carefully, he realized another person was standing in front of the table.

That person was a bit short, not even as tall as the table, and completely blocked when he stood there.

"Thank you for the compliment, Professor Flitwick." Kyle said.

Flitwick smiled and said. "I'm just telling the truth, Mr. Chopper. That's your name, right?"

Kyle nodded. "Yes, Professor."

"It seems that my memory is pretty good." After Professor Flitwick finished speaking, he turned to look at Mikel. "Can you show me that map?"

Mikel didn't recognize who the little wizard in front of him was at first, but soon he remembered what Kyle had just called him and quickly handed over the map with both hands.

"Okay... okay, Professor."

"Thanks."

Flitwick took the map, felt it carefully, and returned it to Mikel.

"Oh, the magic power is very stable. If nothing else happens, this replica should last until noon in eight days."

Professor Flitwick blinked at Kyle and said in a slightly regretful tone. "If the exam question at the end of the semester is the Doubling Charm, I will definitely give you an O. But now, I can only give it to you three more points."

"Professor!"

At this time, a little Ravenclaw witch wondered. "Can't items created with a Doubling Charm last forever?"

"No, Miss Mittal." Flitwick said. "If replicas could exist forever, there wouldn't be so many parchments in the windows of the Literary Residence."

"Can't Dumbledore do the same?" Another young wizard asked.

"Unfortunately, no." Professor Flitwick shook his head and continued. "Even if the Headmaster can make the replica he creates exist for a hundred years or more, it will not exist forever."

"Okay, let's stop talking about the Doubling Charm. It's too early for you. Let's start class now."

Professor Flitwick turned around and walked up to the desk, facing all the young wizards, and said. "In this class, we are going to learn about the Wand-Lighting Charm. This is also one of the most basic spells. The spell is Lumos. Everyone, watch..."

Kyle was not surprised when he learned the Wand-Lighting Charm in the first lesson of magic, because this Charm is the simplest and most straightforward in the Wizarding World.

You don't need to worry about gestures. As long as you are a wizard, have a wand, and can speak, you will be able to perform it. ( I am still waiting for the wand to choose me. xD)

Earlier, the Wand-Lighting Charm was even used to distinguish wizards from Squibs, with a very high accuracy rate, almost 100%.

It can be said that if someone can't even cast the Wand-Lighting Charm, they are definitely not a wizard.

Based on this situation, Professor Flitwick simply demonstrated the casting process of the Wand-Lighting Charm and then let the little wizards start to try it on their own.

Soon, the classroom was lit up with dots of light, some big, some small, some bright, some dark...

Although Kyle was a step slower and was not the first to succeed, the light on his wand was stable.

It was like a light bulb with electricity, constantly emitting a fixed and soft white light around.

It's a pity that there were no extra points this time.

Because he is not the only one who can do this, there are seven Ravenclaw who can also make their wands glow stably.

As for the Hufflepuff side...

Although there are not many, there are only six fewer than the opposite side, and the difference is not big.

"Don't forget what I just said, stay calm and don't panic." Professor Flitwick reminded sharply. "You must calm yourself down, just like you usually take things. It is also very important to pronounce the spell correctly, and don't make any mistakes."

Under his reminder, more and more little wizards completed the requirements and cast a stable "light bulb".

Kyle looked at his two roommates...

They were still working hard.
