Golden Dragon: Six Thousand Years of Empire

Chapter 359: God Slayer Squad

"Damn, what kind of ghost place is this? Why are dragons everywhere?"

"This is the territory ruled by the Dragon Clan, isn't it normal to see dragons?"

"But there are too many dragons here!"

Around the dimly lit table, six adventurers who seemed to be third-rate gathered together, drinking and eating large portions, complaining with coarse language and behavior, without any manners or decorum.

However, most adventurers gathered in this suburban tavern were like this, so no one paid them any attention.

"Didn't they call us here to deal with dragons? If there's nothing strange, why would they hire us?"

"But this is way too abnormal. Guess how many dragons I saw just from walking around the street today. I swear, some planes combined don't have as many dragons hidden as this one street does."

"Why are you swearing? Do you think we're blind?"

"There are too many Ancient Dragons. If it were just me, I'd already be out of here."

"Ha, coward!"

A young man with deep dark blue eyes and light golden curls scoffed. This handsome and elegantly mannered man had a small seven-stringed harp at his waist, revealing his profession at a glance.

Minstrel, an all-rounder profession that can engage in melee, cast spells, provide healing, and support. They're skilled in a bit of everything, but master of none. Naturally, they aren't strong in solo ventures.

However, an excellent Minstrel often becomes the heart of a team, providing various buffs and enhancements in both combat and non-combat situations, ensuring the team integrates more cohesively and enhances its combat abilities overall.

"Pfft, if you're so capable, why don't you take on the mission solo?"

Annoyed by the Minstrel's mocking, the warrior who had just declared he was leaving retorted in a huff. He exuded an aura as sturdy and heavy as the earth, but his temper was explosive.

The warrior was a burly man with brown hair, resembling a mountain of flesh even while seated. Unlike greasy fat, his muscles were solid and firm like rock.

"I can take it on alone, but I need Hebei's intel. Once I know the situation with that dragon, ha, a sleeping dragon, how could I not manage it alone?"

The Minstrel Charon was exceptionally confident, electric flashes sparkling in his deep blue eyes.

"You can't handle it, this dragon is too bizarre!"

A slender woman appeared at the table where six were gathered and spoke abruptly.

She had been sitting at the table for a while, but until she spoke, none noticed her presence, not even those seated around the table with her.

"Hebei, can you give a heads-up before speaking next time? You'll scare me to death doing that."

A nondescript middle-aged man clutched his chest, a look of exaggerated fear on his face. Yet, he was the only one showing his true emotions completely.

When this gray-skinned, purple-eyed woman spoke, the others instinctively distanced themselves from her a bit. Though futile, it revealed much.

"Isn't this me giving you a heads-up in advance?"

"What do you mean I can't handle that dragon?"

The Minstrel Charon looked at the Void Blade with intrigued eyes.

"Literally, even with your Hell Poem, you can't disturb that dragon."

Hebei responded coldly.

"That powerful?"

Charon stroked his chin,

"If my poem can't handle it, then I have to act myself. You should know my true nature, right? Even so, you still think I can't manage a sleeping dragon alone?"

"Yes."

The woman answered with unwavering certainty, without even a moment of hesitation or thought.

"Interesting. How many Ancient Dragons are guarding that Holy Dragon? Or is there a Sealing God Dragon?"

Charon pursued relentlessly, his competitive spirit fully stirred.

In truth, when accepting this mission, he hadn't expected to see so many "colleagues."

Though they all knew each other and had cooperated before, such groups often only needed two or three people to solve problems. Seven collaborating was extremely rare historically.

"When I went to recon, I only saw the dragon's offspring. Just like the intel said, his Favored were all asleep under his influence."

"All three offspring present?"

Another woman spoke. She was tall, had a lithe figure, an elegant demeanor, and possessed long silver hair.

Her ears were human-like, not the pointed ears of an elf, but judging from her temperament and appearance, she seemed to carry part of the High Elf bloodline.

Such outstanding looks and charisma would normally attract attention in a typical suburban setting, but in the Holy Dragon Land, where everyone could be affected by Dragonification, such refined beauty was as common as a drop of water in the ocean.

"Only one, should be the eldest."

"With just such defensive power, why do you think I can't handle it?"

Upon hearing the Void Blade's intel, the Minstrel Charon was unconvinced. He had thought the dragon had a guard of many Ancient Dragons or maybe even a Sealing God Dragon.
