Chapter 52: Chapter 52: Invasion of Abyss Power, Believe in the White God

Three figures appeared next to the main body of the Trial Tower. They stood tall and unshakable in the void, their presence imposing as if they were solid beings anchored in the heavens.

"I didn't expect those bastards from the Abyss to attack," one of them muttered.

"They are all shady creatures," another one added, his voice laced with disdain.

"What should we do now?" asked the third figure, who began making contact with the Trial Tower to assess the situation.

"The filth from the Abyss has infiltrated," the figure continued after a moment of silence. "Their target is the candidates in the battle space."

"The space within the tower is disturbed, and the power of the Abyss has started to infect the rules."

"The land within the tower was originally drawn from the Abyss, which gives them an advantage. I will need time to restore balance."

"How long?" the first figure asked, clearly concerned.

"One hour," came the response.

Meanwhile, in the battle space inside the tower, the students were still struggling to fight and kill monsters when, suddenly, every monster disappeared at once. The world around them seemed to change in an instant.

The air grew heavy, and a trace of black mist began to rise from the ground.

"What's going on?"

"Where did all the monsters go?"

"Why did they disappear?"

Marsh immediately gathered his skeleton warriors to form a protective barrier around himself. In uncertain situations, self-preservation was the top priority.

"Marsh," a familiar voice called out, and he turned to see Jeny.

Seeing other candidates in the battle space, Marsh was momentarily surprised. Not only was he surprised, but Jeny was too.

The skeleton warriors made way for Jeny to join Marsh.

"Do you know what's happening?" she asked, concern in her voice.

Marsh shook his head. "I have no idea."

"I was killing monsters just now, and suddenly they all disappeared," Jeny explained. "I don't know what happened."

At first, Jeny had been alarmed, but with Marsh by her side, the fear slowly faded. His calmness seemed to ease the tension in the air, and she found herself following his example.

A series of bright lights began to shine in the otherwise pitch-black battle space. One by one, candidates began appearing in the space. Over one hundred candidates materialized, with not only those from Jiangning Province, but also candidates from other provinces.

"Children," a voice suddenly rang out, echoing through the space.

"I am Bai Yiyuan."

The entire battle space went silent as everyone turned their attention toward the source of the voice.

"Bai Shen, it's Bai Shen!" someone gasped in awe.

"I can actually hear the voice of the White God!"

Bai Yiyuan was one of the top powerhouses in the Shenxia Empire and was revered as the White God. His mere voice sent shockwaves through the battle space, creating a wave of excitement and reverence.

Bai Yiyuan's voice did not just resonate in the battle space; it spread throughout every examination room in the empire.

Ning Xuanfeng, standing outside the battle space, shifted uneasily. His expression darkened. "Why is Bai Shen speaking? What's going on?"

Bai Yiyuan's voice boomed once again: "The demons from the Abyss World have invaded the battle space."

"We are working to repair the space's rules, but it will take about an hour."

"The demons from the Abyss are targeting you all."

"So, for the next hour, you must protect yourselves."

"We don't know what methods the demons will use to deal with you, but I believe that as long as you unite, the invading power of the Abyss will have no effect on you."

"I am from Xia, and we are fearless in the face of war and death."

His words were stirring, filled with a deep and powerful conviction that resonated with everyone who heard them.

"Don't fear battle, don't fear death!" Bai Yiyuan's voice continued, ringing with authority.

"Don't fear battle, don't fear death!" The candidates echoed, their voices rising in unison.

The young candidates, brimming with vigor and energy, were invigorated by Bai Yiyuan's words. The atmosphere in the battle space grew electric as they prepared for what was to come.

Jeny felt the surge of emotions as she raised her hand, wanting to join in the chant. But when she saw Marsh, who remained silent, her hand fell back to her side. His calmness had a quiet strength that held her in check.

Though Marsh didn't join in the chant, it was clear that he was just as affected. Despite his composure, there was an undeniable glint of determination in his eyes.

Everyone was aware of the dangers of the Abyss. From childhood, they had been taught that the Abyss was a terrifying place filled with countless monsters, demons, dungeons, and treasures.

Jeny whispered, her voice tinged with fear, "I've heard that the Abyss is terrifying. Even the weakest monsters there are level 70 elites."

She had learned of the Abyss's horrors from Xia Dongyang, and the very thought of it sent chills through her.

Marsh, on the other hand, had only read about the Abyss in books, which merely skimmed the surface of its true terror. He didn't know much about it either, but the situation was different now.

"I believe in Bai Shen," Marsh said calmly.

His belief was simple but firm. He had faith in Bai Yiyuan's words, knowing that as long as they united, they could overcome the Abyss's invading power. The real enemy wasn't the Abyss itself, but the dark forces trying to infiltrate their world.

From what Bai Yiyuan said, the invading power wasn't something overwhelmingly strong. If it were, a level 70 elite monster from the Abyss would have wiped them out in an instant.

Jeny nodded, feeling a sense of relief. If Bai Yiyuan believed they could fight this, then she too could find the strength to stand against it.

Outside the battle space, Ning Xuanfeng's expression darkened as he listened to Bai Yiyuan's words.

"This is unexpected," he muttered under his breath. "I never anticipated something like this."

His demeanor was far calmer than that of the examiners, who were visibly flustered.

"This is no coincidence," Ning Xuanfeng continued, his voice firm. "The Abyss has invaded here intentionally. They've come for the geniuses participating in the fifth round of the exam."

"If we don't handle this properly, they will come every year."

"This is an attempt to destroy the roots of the Shenxia Empire."

Ning Xuanfeng's words sent a chill through the room. The Abyss wasn't just a threat—it was an existential one, targeting the future of the Empire itself.

The examiners fell silent, understanding the gravity of the situation.

"Enough," Ning Xuanfeng said suddenly, his voice cutting through the tension. "Tell the people outside to stay calm and trust Bai Shen."

"You too, trust in Bai Shen," he commanded the examiners.

"Believe in Bai Shen!" they responded in unison.

Bai Yiyuan's status was beyond question in the Shenxia Empire. No one doubted his words.

Outside, the atmosphere calmed as everyone chose to believe in Bai Yiyuan. They also prayed for the safety of the candidates inside the battle space.

Back in the battle space, the atmosphere grew increasingly tense. The candidates stood together, ready to face whatever horrors the Abyss would send their way.

At some point, a blood-red moon appeared in the sky.

"It's the Abyss Blood Moon!" someone shouted in alarm.

"The power of the Abyss has begun to manifest."

"Everyone, prepare yourselves!"
