Chapter 36: Chapter 36: What Is Efficiency? This Is Efficiency

The heavy, oppressive atmosphere made Jeny's breath hitch. Her slender legs trembled as she stared at the terrifying monster pacing behind the large iron gate.

Using her detection ability, she examined the enhanced elite monster's attributes, and her heart sank. Its power and appearance far surpassed the creatures from a normal-level dungeon.

She turned to Marsh, her voice trembling with fear. "This is nightmare difficulty! Did you choose the wrong one?"

Marsh glanced at her briefly and replied calmly, "I made the right choice."

Jeny's jaw dropped. "You made the right choice? Are you out of your mind? We're going to die in here!"

Marsh, unaffected by her panic, remained focused. "Stay close to me. Follow my lead."

"Follow you?!" Jeny repeated, disbelief etched on her face.

Before she could process his words, the enhanced elite monster behind the iron gate let out a guttural roar, locking its eyes on her. Fear surged through her, her body screaming at her to flee. Yet, pride stopped her from showing weakness.

While Jeny struggled with her fear, Marsh extended his hand, summoning a tide of skeletal warriors.

In moments, the room filled with 80 skeletons, their hollow eyes glowing with a menacing light.

Jeny watched in stunned silence as Marsh commanded the skeletons to march forward, opening the gate to the dungeon without hesitation.

The enhanced elite monster charged at the skeletons. Marsh remained calm, summoning more warriors as if orchestrating a battle he had already won.

"Follow me," he said, already running down the narrow passageway.

Jeny hesitated, confusion and fear battling for dominance in her mind. Finally, gritting her teeth, she chased after Marsh. "Miss Jeny is not afraid! You hear me?!"

She caught up with him, glancing nervously at the giant monster chasing their summoned army.

"What are we doing?" she demanded between breaths.

Marsh's voice was steady. "Clearing the dungeon."

"Clearing?!" Jeny repeated, incredulous. This wasn't dungeon clearing; this was madness!

Ahead, the passage widened into a cavern, and a colossal figure loomed in the shadows—the Mine Wolf King. The nightmare-difficulty boss was far larger and more menacing than its normal-level counterpart.

The Mine Wolf King growled low and deep, its glowing eyes tracking the approaching skeletons.

Jeny didn't need her detection skill to know how dangerous it was.

"This thing is impossible!" she whispered, her knees wobbling. Memories of her previous dungeon runs flashed through her mind, where it had taken a team of three and over twenty minutes to take down the normal-level Mine Wolf King.

But Marsh stood firm, issuing commands to his skeletons.

The undead army swarmed forward, ignoring the Mine Wolf King's attacks. The boss lashed out, killing several skeletons instantly, but they didn't stop.

Jeny's voice cracked as she asked, "Why aren't they fighting back?"

"They will," Marsh replied, his tone matter-of-fact.

As the elite monsters chasing the skeletons funneled into the cavern, Marsh gave his next command.

The skeleton warriors surrounding the monsters suddenly activated their skills, striking in perfect unison.

Jeny's eyes widened as one of the enhanced elite monsters fell. Before she could blink, Marsh extended his hand, his magic surging.

Corpse Explosion!

The fallen elite's body erupted in a violent blast, sending shockwaves rippling through the cavern.

Jeny screamed, the sound drowned out by the deafening explosion.

When the dust settled, her interface flooded with system notifications:

Experience Points Gained: 30% Progress Increase!

Jeny's jaw dropped. She'd gained nearly a third of a level from a single explosion.

Marsh's expression didn't change. He simply repeated the process.

Boom! Boom! Boom!

The cavern shook with successive explosions as the Mine Wolf King and its followers were torn apart in a symphony of destruction.

The final explosion obliterated the Wolf King, its massive body collapsing to the ground with a guttural roar.

Jeny stared, her mouth agape. The boss was dead. In less than fifteen minutes, Marsh had cleared what normally took her group over an hour.

"This… this is nightmare difficulty…" she stammered.

Marsh began walking toward the next area without a second glance at the carnage. "Let's move."

Jeny hesitated, her legs still shaky from what she'd witnessed. She finally caught up, unable to hold back her curiosity.

"Do you… always clear nightmare dungeons alone?"

"Yes," Marsh replied.

Her disbelief grew. "From level 10?"

"Correct."

Jeny's mind reeled. She'd never heard of anyone running nightmare-level dungeons solo, let alone at such a low level. It was impossible. Yet Marsh had just proven otherwise.

She glanced at him as they ran. "No wonder you're leveling up so fast. While I was struggling with normal dungeons, you were already farming nightmare difficulty. You must've been doing this from the start."

Marsh didn't respond, his focus on the path ahead.

Jeny fell silent, processing what she'd just learned. It all made sense now—his efficiency, his power, his calm demeanor. He wasn't just strong; he was on an entirely different level.

In less than 10 minutes, they reached the dungeon's final area.

A massive figure loomed in the center of the chamber—the Giant Goblin King.

The oppressive aura of the boss made Jeny's breath catch in her throat.

"Stay back," Marsh instructed, summoning another wave of skeleton warriors.

Jeny nodded, not needing to be told twice.

The skeletons surged forward, luring the boss and its minions into a tight cluster. Marsh waited for the perfect moment before activating his magic.

Corpse Explosion!

The chamber shook violently as the Goblin King and its army fell one by one, their bodies detonating in a chain reaction of destruction.

When the dust settled, Marsh stood amidst the ruins of the boss chamber, the faint glow of an upgrade surrounding him.

Jeny's level had also risen, her experience bar nearly maxed out.

She stared at Marsh in awe.

"This… is efficiency," she murmured.

Marsh turned to her. "We'll run it again. Use your cooldown talisman."

Jeny's lips twitched into a nervous smile. She wasn't sure whether to admire him or be terrified of him.

"Alright," she said, pulling out the talisman. "Let's do it again."
