Global Apocalypse: The True Young Master Awakens and Tames the Villain

Chapter 12

Zhang Yaoyao first took Liu Jin’an to the bank to apply for a new bank card.
After the reissue was completed, she looked at the small card in the boy’s hand and said, “Thanks to it, I can save my life.”

Liu Jin’an suddenly suggested, “Sister Zhang, why don’t we work together? You contribute some money, and we can open a store together.”

Zhang Yaoyao was stunned for a moment, then smiled bitterly and replied, “I don’t have much savings, so I’m afraid I’m not worthy of being your partner.”

“It doesn’t matter. You can pay as much as you want; just consider it as a capital investment. Of course, it still depends on your own wishes,” he reassured her.

In fact, Liu Jin’an had the idea on a whim. He felt that Zhang Yaoyao was a good person and thought it might be nice to help her. If Zhang Yaoyao didn’t want to participate, he wouldn’t force her.

They got into the truck in silence. Zhang Yaoyao hesitated for a long time, her expression gradually becoming more resolute. Finally, she opened the glove box and took out a bank card.

“There’s more than 500,000 yuan in it. This is all my savings. I originally planned to buy a house as a wedding gift for me and Old Zhou,” she explained.

However, after what had happened the previous night, she felt extremely disappointed in Old Zhou.

Liu Jin’an accepted the bank card. Five hundred thousand wasn’t much, but it represented half a lifetime’s savings for most people. Even though he had 100 million at his disposal, he didn’t look down on her contribution.

In reality, he didn’t really plan to open a store. He intended to exchange the money for supplies of equivalent value and return them to Zhang Yaoyao.

Throughout the rest of the day, Zhang Yaoyao took him to six supply companies in Yuncheng, where they placed orders. By evening, the truck was filled with boxes of supplies.

When they returned to Hulu Mountain Hotel, Hu Jianye’s steps were wobbly, and his face was as pale as a whittered vegetable. Liu Jin’an, although thin, was in much better condition than Hu Jianye.

Despite being labelled a masochist, as long as his injuries weren’t fully healed, his strength remained enhanced. Just as Liu Jin’an was contemplating whether to find someone to fight in order to maintain the masochistic buff, Old Zhou burst into the hotel in a panic.

“Oh no! Brother Hu is at odds with Wang Mazi and his gang!” Old Zhou shouted.

Zhang Yaoyao’s expression darkened. “What’s going on?”

“Old Zhou, take us there first,” Liu Jin’an said solemnly, fearing that every second of delay could put Hu Deyi and Zhang Wenqian in greater danger. “We’ll talk about it on the way!”

Without bothering to close the hotel door, Old Zhou hurriedly took the three of them in his Mercedes-Benz. As they drove, he explained the situation.

After Liu Jin’an and the others had left in the morning, Hu Deyi and Zhang Wenqian followed his instructions to find warehouses for rent.

Old Zhou, feeling grateful for their righteous act the previous night, decided to accompany them since the hotel was quiet during the day. He knew the area well and quickly helped them negotiate lease contracts for six warehouses, all for just one month.

Thanks to Old Zhou’s connections, the landlords waived the deposit, and everything went smoothly—until the last landlord caused trouble.

The final landlord had hidden the fact that his warehouse was occupied by Wang Mazi and his gang. He signed a contract with them and then disappeared after taking the money.

When Wang Mazi was informed to vacate the warehouse within a time limit, he wasn’t happy. He summoned his men to settle the score.

With the landlord absent, Wang Mazi directed his anger at Hu Deyi, Zhang Wenqian, and Old Zhou. Hu Deyi and Zhang Wenqian stayed behind to confront Wang Mazi, while Old Zhou was sent back to the hotel to bring reinforcements.

“I already called the police on the way back, but the location here is remote, and it will take some time for them to arrive. I’m afraid they will harm Brother Hu and Sister-in-law Zhang,” Old Zhou said, full of worry.

Zhang Yaoyao was furious. “You are such a damn coward! Why didn’t you let Sister Zhang come back to bring reinforcements? Are you even considered a big man?”

The more critical the moment, the calmer one needed to be.

Liu Jin’an suppressed the anxiety in his heart and said in a deep voice, “Sister Zhang, Brother Zhou did the right thing. He’s familiar with the terrain and had a higher chance of escaping successfully.”

“But what about my parents?” Hu Jianye exclaimed, sweating profusely from anxiety.

“Calm down. We’ll get there right away,” Liu Jin’an reassured him. He knew that Wang Mazi was the key person threatening Uncle Hu and Aunt Zhang. Turning to Old Zhou, he asked, “Brother Zhou, can you tell me more about Wang Mazi?”

Old Zhou explained, “Wang Mazi’s real name is Wang Hu. He used to be a second-rate thug, but later he became a henchman for the boss of the Qinglong Gang. In recent years, the Qinglong Gang collapsed due to crackdowns on criminal organizations. Wang Hu took the opportunity to gather some members and stopped forming a gang. Instead, they treat each other as brothers and make a living by collecting protection fees.”

“They also charge commissions for bringing customers to stall owners or harass the business of those who don’t pay. Because they rarely cause violent incidents, the police have a hard time taking action against them.”

From Old Zhou’s description, Wang Mazi didn’t sound like an unreasonable gangster. He even seemed to know how to earn protection fees and commissions without blatantly breaking the law.

Liu Jin’an thought it shouldn’t be too troublesome to negotiate with him.

But none of them expected the scene they encountered when Old Zhou stepped on the accelerator and brought them to their destination.

Hu Deyi had grabbed a man with a pockmarked face as if he were a chicken.

His wife stood nearby with her hands on her hips, pointing at the man and yelling, “You’re a grown man! You’re not missing any arms or legs, so why are you doing this kind of despicable business?

“You even form criminal group! Damn it! Are these children or adults? Aren’t you ruining their lives? Where are your parents? Do they care about you? How sad they would be if they knew you had fallen to this!”

Old Zhou’s lips moved as his eyes widened in shock.

Hu Jianye noticed his expression and asked, “What’s wrong?”

Old Zhou swallowed hard, pointing at Hu Deyi. “That man your father is holding… is Wang Mazi!”

Everyone: “…”

As they moved closer, Liu Jin’an saw that Hu Deyi was holding his dragon-patterned pig-killing knife as if he were preparing to slaughter a fat pig.

A dozen young men, all in their early twenties, knelt on the ground, trembling in fear. Some even broke into tears, crying uncontrollably as they lay flat on the ground.

Hu Jianye couldn’t wait any longer and rushed to his parents, tears welling up in his eyes. “Mom! Dad! I came too late, and you were bullied by these bad people!”

Turning to the group of gang members, he declared loudly, “If any of you dare to bully my parents, you’ll have to step over my dead body first!”

Meanwhile, Wang Mazi was still struggling in Hu Deyi’s grip, his face flushed red, unable to utter a single word.

His younger brothers, on the other hand, all looked horrified.

‘Little ancestor, please stop talking! Can’t you see that we are the ones being bullied here?’
