Global Apocalypse: The True Young Master Awakens and Tames the Villain

Chapter 13

Although they didn’t know what had happened, from the look of the situation, it seemed that Uncle Hu and Aunt Zhang had everything under control.

Liu Jin’an stepped forward, pulling the excited Hu Jianye away and covering his mouth to stop him from speaking further.

After finally breaking free, Hu Jianye looked puzzled. “An’an, why are you pulling me?”

“If you delay any longer, Wang Mazi might actually be strangled to death by Uncle Hu,” Liu Jin’an snapped. “Can’t you see he’s already half-dead?”

Hu Jianye took a closer look and realized Liu Jin’an was right.

Wang Mazi, now released, collapsed to the ground, gasping for air. He scrambled away on his hands and knees, desperate to escape Hu Deyi’s grasp, as though fate itself had almost crushed his throat.

“It seems like…” Hu Jianye’s face turned blank with confusion. “Are my parents… really this powerful?”

Liu Jin’an thought about it and realized they might have been overthinking the situation.

Most of these gangsters likely hadn’t even killed a chicken in their lives. They were just kids who swung steel pipes around and carried bricks with bare hands.

But Hu Deyi’s dragon-patterned pig-killing knife wasn’t just for show. Its sharp edge had seen countless battles in his years as a butcher, and it was clear how many “souls” of pigs had fallen under it.

One glance at the steel pipe broken cleanly in two on the ground was enough to deduce how one-sided this battle had been.

Wang Mazi, choking back tears, repeatedly promised to move out the next day and swore he’d never collect protection fees again. Only then did Hu Deyi and Zhang Wenqian finally let them go.

On the way back, Old Zhou couldn’t help but ask, clearly conflicted, “Brother Hu, Sister Zhang, did I hold you back by running away earlier? Did I… restrict your performance?”

Hu Deyi burst into hearty laughter. “Brother Zhou, don’t overthink it! Your sister-in-law and I just wanted to make sure you were safe. There were so many of them, and we weren’t confident we could take them all on. Who knew they’d be so cowardly? They were scared silly just by my knife neck-attack! It even surprised me a little.”

Curious, Old Zhou pressed, “What’s this knife neck-attack technique’? Brother Hu, are you secretly a hidden master of some kind?”

With Zhang Yaoyao driving, Hu Deyi answered freely.

Zhang Wenqian chuckled and interjected, “A hidden master? You’re giving him too much credit. Your Brother Hu is just a butcher. The knife neck-attack technique is his family’s ancestral pig-slaughtering skill. When the pig isn’t paying attention, he sneaks up, slashes the neck artery, and lets it bleed out.”

Killing pigs required speed, precision, and ruthlessness. To Hu Deyi and Zhang Wenqian, this was nothing extraordinary—they were used to it. But to others, it was a remarkable skill.

The black knife went in, the red knife came out. The entire process took only a few seconds, leaving the pig no time to react or cry out.

For gangsters who’d never seen such clean and sharp knife work, it was terrifying. Their fear was completely understandable.

Old Zhou couldn’t help but feel a strange chill. He glanced at the people in the truck and realized that, aside from himself and Zhang Yaoyao, there didn’t seem to be any “ordinary” people here.

When they finally returned to the Hulu Mountain Hotel, something felt off.

As Old Zhou got out of the truck, his expression changed. “It looks like someone has been inside the hotel. You all wait here; I’ll go take a look.”

Zhang Yaoyao didn’t trust him to go alone. “I’ll go with you. Xiao An, Sister Zhang, if we don’t come back in ten minutes, call the police.”

“Understood,” Liu Jin’an replied firmly.

One minute. Two minutes. Ten minutes passed. But Zhang Yaoyao and Old Zhou didn’t return.

Without hesitation, Liu Jin’an called the police. On the phone, the police informed him that they’d already received reports from local residents and had officers patrolling the area. Backup would be dispatched immediately.

After hanging up, Hu Jianye looked at him nervously. “Should we go in now?”

“No,” Liu Jin’an said, frowning. “There’s no news yet, which means they’re likely still safe. If we rush in now, not only will we fail to help Sister Zhang and Brother Zhou, but we might also end up getting caught ourselves.”

He was so calm it almost seemed cold-blooded. “We wait for the police. Don’t alert the enemy.”

Finally, a siren sounded in the distance.

But the situation that Liu Jin’an had most worried about emerged. Even though the sirens were getting closer and closer, there was still no movement in the Hulu Mountain Hotel.

He quickly got out of the car with the others, met the police, and told them about the current situation.

“I suspect there are criminals in the hotel. They have kidnapped Sister Zhang and Brother Zhou,” Liu Jin’an said in a deep voice.

There were four police officers who had arrived at the scene. They agreed with Liu Jin’an’s guess. The leading police officer raised his loudspeaker and shouted, “People inside, listen, you are surrounded! Put down your weapons immediately, come out, and surrender…”

To ensure the safety of the hostages, the police did not immediately enter the hotel.

The horn was repeated six times, but there was still no movement in the hotel. The police officer put down the horn, took out the riot shield from the trunk, and prepared to break into the hotel to save the hostages.

Liu Jin’an reminded them again, “The criminals may have guns.”

He had a vague suspicion in his mind. Sister Zhang and Brother Zhou usually didn’t have any enemies. The people who had come this time were probably the same as yesterday’s poachers.

“You should find a place to hide first and don’t come out,” the police officer told him before turning to his companions and saying, “The criminals may be carrying guns. Be ready to write a shooting report at any time.”

As the police approached the hotel, Liu Jin’an and the others’ hearts were worried.

He also wanted to help, but the apocalypse had not yet come. Although he possessed a Book of Superpowers, he had not absorbed the element, and his physical fitness was no different from that of ordinary people.

Rushing in rashly would do nothing but cause trouble for the police.

Hu Jianye held Liu Jinan’s arm tightly. “An’an, will Sister Zhang and Brother Zhou be okay? The police will be able to defeat the criminals, right?”

Liu Jin’an nodded, comforting both Hu Jianye and himself at the same time.

Bang!

A sudden gunshot broke the quiet night.

Fortunately, the bullet hit the riot shield, and the policeman holding the riot shield was only pushed back two to three meters by the impact and was not injured.

“Captain Zheng!” everyone exclaimed.

“The criminals have guns in their hands. Everyone, be careful!” Captain Zheng’s face darkened. He quickly sent a signal for help to headquarters and then ordered, “Everyone, prioritize your own safety. Their guns are homemade and can’t penetrate our riot shields. March forward with shields!”

The criminals seemed to realize this and did not shoot again.

But when the police stepped through the door, two criminals held Zhang Yaoyao and Zhou Yuan hostage, with pistols pressed against their heads. “Get out, or I will shoot him!”

Captain Zheng had to ask everyone to retreat and leave an escape route for the criminals.

“Boss, what should we do? If we don’t leave now, support from the police will be coming!” The criminal who had kidnapped Brother Zhou pressed the button to close the rolling shutter door. “It’s okay if we can’t find Brother Feng and Xiao Tao. We can’t be caught either!”

Another criminal exerted force on his arm, and Zhang Yaoyao suddenly showed pain.

“Let her go!” Zhou Yuan roared, only to be punched in the abdomen. The pain was so severe that he even vomited bile.

“Be honest,” the criminal known as the boss said coldly. “After Feng and Xiao Tao came to your hotel last night, there has been no news from them. Think carefully—you must know something.”

“I don’t know,” Zhang Yaoyao insisted.

“It seems that you really refuse to take the toast and drink fine wine,” the boss said, pinning Zhang Yaoyao on the dining table. “Ah Zhong, help her recall what happened last night and see if she remembers anything.”

Ah Zhong tore Zhang Yaoyao’s coat apart several times, revealing a large area of snow-white skin.

“No, no, let her go!” Zhou Yuan struggled with all his strength, but his hands were tied, and the power gap was too great. He couldn’t break free from the boss’s grip.

The boss fiddled with the gun in his hand. “Do you remember anything now?”

Ah Zhong’s eyes were full of lust as he took off his belt.

Zhou Yuan cried, “I’ll talk, I’ll talk! They were sent to the bureau by Liu Jin’an!”

Note

This sudden shooting and hostage scene was so out of blue haha. It’s a bit too fast for me.
