Hugo rushed over to the fight at his quickest speed without using any chakra hopping from tree to tree thinking, 'I'm starting to see fewer trees, it looks like the fight is happening on shore near the sea. This should allow the Kirigakure's water jutsus to be more powerful putting the fight in their favor.'

Coming to that conclusion Hugo's confidence increased as he sightly relaxed until he frowned seeing a blue flare shoot into the night sky temporary washing away the pitch blackness, 'Oh, fuck me, that's the Kirigakure Flare Seal given only to Jonin Level Ninjas to call for help from nearby allies in the case of emergencies!'

Hugo quickly stopped knowing the implication of such an action, 'Shit if a Jonin is asking for help, what the hell would I do other than being used as cannon fodder,' thought Hugo turning around wanting to avoiding such a fight, he knew very well if he went he would only be killed and probably used as bait so that Jonin could save himself.

Hugo began running away until he heard a soft female voice call out to him causing him to stop, "Hey, fellow senior comrade," before he turned around to see a genin squad made up of three kids barly over the age of 12 standing watching him.

In front was a slender youth with fair skin and a childiah face, she had green eyes, and ankle-length dark red hair styled into a herringbone pattern at the back, she wore the basic Kirigakure genin attire.

Next her her where two young boys the same age as her, the first kid had a basic face and wore a hat styled grey Kirigakure forehead protector, with Kirigakure Genin attire. The second kid was also very average other than his unique blue hair, and he wore the same attire as the other two.

Watching Hugo turning around slowly with a frowning face the young girl smiled saying, "Relax fellow comrade, we were sent here by our sensei to scout the perimeters, may I ask what's senior your name and did you escape from the fighting?"

Hearing the girl speak and seeing her appearance Hugo cried inside, 'Huh, thats Mei the Fifth Mizukage, If so then what generation fo i belong too? I knew I was too old for the beauties like Hinata, Ino, or even Sakura but DAMN, I'm even too old for Mei which means I'm too old for Anko and Kurenai, shit, I should be apart of Minato's generation!'

Hugo knew he was older than the main cast of characters since he was in a time before the Third Great Ninja War but he never met any other characters he knew of to reference and compare his age until now.

Watching Hugo's frown deepen the little girl thought he was traumatized or something so she softy spoke, "I'm Mei, and these are my squad mates, Ao and Heki, come with us, our Sensei should have took care of the battle already."

'Huh,' Hugo looked over to the kid with the blue hair thinking, 'This must be Ao before the Byakugan and this other kid must be fodder.'

Hugo then comprehend what Mei had said, 'Wait, they have a sensei and she just said he should be done with the fight already,' thought Hugo knowing someone special like Mei wouldn't have any regular Jonin Sensei.

"Whats your Sensei name," spoke Hugo only planning to go with the kids if he knew he wasn't going to immediately die, Mei was about to speak until Ao spoke in a rushed toned, "Mei, let's go before Sensei kills everyone, we're never going to fight at this rate."

Hearing her team mate Mei eyes sparkled as she turned around saying, "Oh, yeah, I haven't been able to fight this entire mission, let's go guys!"

Hearing and watching the kids flash away toward the battle Hugo watched in shock, 'What the hell are these kids talking about, there's no way their sensei is that strong, right,' questioned Hugo in his head pondering if he should follow or not but after some thinking Hugo knew it was better being with allies then by himself during this conflict between Kirigakure and Kahona.

Without any thought Hugo Body Flickered to catch up with the kids but when Hugo's right foot touched the ground he felt a snap in his leg before crashing face first into a tree breaking his nose causing a nauseating pain pulse trough his body.

"AHHHHHH," yelled Hugo in terrible pain as he fell to the ground with blood covering face and his leg broken, this loud yell scared the Genin Squad causing them to pause until the saw Hugo's figure about 100 feet in front of them laying on the ground pain.

The kids looked back in fear before they rushed to help Hugo, when they reached him Mei bent down to assisting Hugo with his broken leg while Ao and Heki stood guard not knowing who attack Hugo with such speed and brutality.

"Are you ok," asked Mei before Hugo yelled in anger, "Do it look like im fucking, ok? Get me out of this hell hole," Mei then reach for a stroll before summoning bandages and grabbed a near by tree branch quickly wrapping Hugo's leg to create support before Ao spoke, "Let's get him already, the person who attacked is most likely watching, we need to get back to Sensei!"

Mei and Heki supported Hugo with their smaller frames holding him up while Ao watched their rear for any potential attacks during the retreat.

After slowly walking for some time the four came upon a sandy beach that shocked Hugo as he saw a rather short man with a brown beard and hair which was tied into a topknot.

"Sensei Jinin, " greeted the kids as they seamlessly ignore the ground that was littered with 5 dead Kahona ninjas, two even being Jonins, the bodies were either cut in two or smashed into bloody flesh.

What shocked Hugo wasn't the bloodly mess but the man's appearance or rather the giant axe and hammer linked with a leather rope that was too big for the man's small frame, 'Wait, that's Kabutowari one the swords of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist, what could only mean this guy has to be Jinin Akebino an Elite Jonin and a member of the Seven Swordsmen of the Mist who died to Might Duy,' thought Hugo taking a closer look at the man's figure that was bathed in the bright moonlight.

Jinin wore a dark-coloured poncho cloth over a standard Swordsman attire, consisting of a sleeveless dark shirt and matching pants along with a waist-guard, and Kirigakure's typical forehead protector.

"Oii, you brats finally made it, I was starting to think you were dead," spoke Jinin cleaning blood from Kabutowari while Ao sighed saying, "Sensei, you could at least leave us some enemies to practice on and grow stronger."

Hearing her squad mate Mei also spoke up in frustration, "Yeah, Sensei we haven't fought a single battle this mission because you kill everyone," as Ao and Heki nodded in agreement while Hugo still being held up by the kids cried in his head at how ungrateful the children were, 'These kids are lucky, shit, if had one of the Seven Swordsmen Of the Mist as a sensei I could learn way more while also being protected by an Elite Jonin or even a Low-Kage level ninja.'

Jinin simply laughed as he spoke making hand signs before Kabutowari struck to his size before placing it on his back, "You brats don't have to worry anymore, I got word from the village about a new task. Our new mission is to meet up with waiting reinforcements before further orders," he then walked closer as he sighed saying, "Looks like we have another potential war on our hands."

Hearing this the smiling kids all grow serious knowing the prospects of a war and how dangerous it was, Mei lost her father in the 2nd Great Ninja War while the other two kids were also impacted by the last war. Even Jinin who was usually laid back about these such things looked a little worried as he recalled the last war and all the close life and battles he faced as a newly promoted Jonin.

Jinin then eyed Hugo before asking, "Where did you find this injured Chunin, the team was already dead when I arrived, i think any of them escaped?" Hearing their sensei's questions the kids thought about it and realized they didn't know nothing about Hugo other than his name.

Hugo feeling everyone's guard subconsciously raise against him spoke, "I was on border portal before our hideout was attacked and the Jonin commander sent me and two other Chunin ninjas to different locations to warn our allies."

Hugo lied, they couldn't prove him wrong, luckily Jinin being an Elite Jonin wasn't super guarded against an weak injuried Chunin so he casually spoke, "Haha, I don't know if to call you lucky or unlucky for meeting us, we're about to enter into an active battlefield, my friend."

Hearing this the three children grew excited even with the dangers of War they were still very nieve to reality while Hugo wasn't too shocked either since he knew what the plot was building up to and to some extent it gave him hope, knowing his knowledge of the Naturo Story wasn't worthless.
