Chapter 123: Wendy
Suddenly, a sweet, delicate voice rang out:
"Gentlemen, please calm yourselves."
Lucy shivered as goosebumps appeared on her arms. "That voice is…strangely sweet?"
"Lord Ichiya!" cried the trio from Blue Pegasus.
"Ichiya?" Erza's expression tightened. "Is he the one Blue Pegasus sent too?"
"Long time no see, Erza, my darling! I, Ichiya, am here just to serve you!" A short, oddly unappealing man appeared at the top of the stairs.
"My d-darling?!" Lucy and Happy both stood slack-jawed. No one dared to call Erza that.
Om—-!
A faint wave of Conqueror's Haki rippled out, not physically attacking but emanating a clear shock and intimidation. Everyone from Blue Pegasus felt a jolt of mental impact.
"W-What was that?!"
Su Yan's cool voice followed: "You guys from Blue Pegasus—enough flirting. If you want to chase girls, do it in your own guild."
"Ichiya…" the man recognized him at once.
"Undead Demon Emperor…Su Yan?" whispered Hibiki, Ren, and Eve, impressed. Su Yan's fame had recently spread across the entire Ishgar continent after he defeated Jose, one of the Ten Wizard Saints.
"Stop dawdling! We came to talk strategy, not fool around!" Ichiya scolded.
"Y-Yes, Sir!"
Immediately, Hibiki and the others scurried to clear the table and chairs.
"S-Sorry! Our younger members can be rather, um, cheeky," Ichiya said apologetically, turning toward Su Yan. "I didn't expect Fairy Tail would send you, Su Yan!"
"Yes, it's been a while, Ichiya," replied Su Yan, his expression somewhat strained.
Back when Su Yan was newly integrated into Fairy Tail, he had met Ichiya once and formed a lasting, somewhat uncomfortable memory. Since then, Ichiya had avoided him.
Right then, the villa door opened again. Several figures walked in.
"Looks like we're not late. We're from the Lamia Scale guild," announced the newcomers.
"Leon?!" Gray blurted out, recognizing his old classmate from Galuna Island.
"Gray?!" Leon was likewise surprised to see Gray, and his eyes flicked to the rest of Fairy Tail's team, especially Su Yan—whom he recalled crushing him easily on Galuna Island.
"You joined a guild?" Natsu asked, curious.
A girl with bright pink hair and a fierce love motif chimed in, "Yes, Lord Leon joined us at Lamia Scale for love!" This was Sherry.
"Love," Lucy remarked dryly, recalling how Sherry was quite obsessed with it.
Erza greeted them politely, "I hope we cooperate well. Let's do our best."
"We're just here to stop Oración Seis from stirring trouble," Leon said, briefly glancing at Su Yan and Natsu.
Then, a more dignified voice said, "I'm Jura Neekis, participating on behalf of Lamia Scale. Let's do our best in crusading against Oración Seis."
"M-Master Jura?!"
The Fairy Tail group recognized him as one of the Ten Wizard Saints, equal in rank to Makarov. Lucy gasped, "He's a top-tier wizard with that title!"
"Seems each guild's sent its strongest." Ichiya nodded contentedly. "So together, we can handle Oración Seis easily."
Jura added, "Now that the three guilds are present, only the folks from Cait Shelter remain."
"Folks? I heard it's just one person," Ichiya said, apparently up to date on the rumors.
Su Yan said quietly, "They're here."
"Huh?" Everyone looked to the doorway but saw no one initially. Then, a short while later, a little girl rushed inside.
"Ah!" She stumbled, fell, and quickly got back up, brushing off her skirt. "S-Sorry I'm late! I'm Wendy, from Cait Shelter. Nice to meet you!"
"A little girl?!"
They all stared wide-eyed. How could Cait Shelter send a child to fight Oración Seis, one of the three major Dark Guild powers?
"W-Wendy?" Su Yan murmured. She had long blue hair, wore a blue-and-white dress, and looked as adorable as an angel. He recalled the Fairy Tail anime's storyline: Wendy, who would eventually join Fairy Tail, had a vital role as a lucky mascot.
Su Yan himself, after seven years in this world, had forgotten many details. But seeing Wendy brought them back. He wondered if, as in the original story, Wendy might soon end up at Fairy Tail after this mission.
