Evil Dragon Crazy Soldier King

Chapter 1138: Mithril Ore

The banquet officially commenced a bit after eight o'clock.

The dazzling crystal chandeliers, and the rose-red wine swirled with the hue of blood.

Various beauties competed to showcase their elegance and allure.

Receiving an invitation to such a high-end party was itself a symbol of status.

Hence, everyone present was either wealthy or of noble stature, each belonging to their own circle.

These invisible social circles had impenetrable boundaries.

Some desperately tried to squeeze in but failed, while others easily mingled and enjoyed conversations with everyone.

In such a setting, the statuses of Yang Fei and Stina seemed somewhat awkward.

Stina fared better; she became George's companion as she wished, staying by his side, navigating between various dignitaries.

Yang Fei became a lone figure.

But this fellow didn't let this small awkwardness bother him at all; instead, he appeared at ease, greeting everyone.

Everyone knew that this guy was favored by George, having saved George's life. Although they looked down on him, none dared to slight him.

Twenty minutes after the party began, an attendant entered the hall and whispered a couple of words to George, who immediately looked serious.

He apologetically waved to the others and then left the hall.

Minutes later, a small squad of soldiers ran in, forming two lines at the hall's entrance, expectant.

George personally accompanied a general in uniform into the party scene.

George gestured, signaling the music to stop.

He announced loudly, "Next, please welcome our hero, General Willhaus to the banquet."

Yang Fei sat on one side, gulping down the exquisite wine as if it were water.

He stood up, discreetly observing Willhaus beside George.

With just one glance at Willhaus, Yang Fei was stirred.

Willhaus was tall and sturdy, about thirty-something.

His jaw was as prominent as a lion's, with a distinct outline, and he exuded a soldier's unique iron-blooded aura.

However, what surprised Yang Fei wasn't the intense killing intent on him but the strong Essence Qi emanating from him.

He stood there nonchalantly in the middle of the hall, yet like a deity, making people hesitant to stare.

Willhaus was indeed a Martial Arts Master, having even surpassed the Gang Strength, his prowess rivaling if not surpassing that of the Emperor Agent Bimos.

Willhaus seemed to sense Yang Fei's perplexed gaze, his eyes sweeping over like cold lightning.

Yang Fei had already activated Snake Stupefaction, concealing his own Essence Qi.

Yet, despite that, Willhaus could already sense something unusual about Yang Fei.

Amidst the enthusiastic applause from the crowd, Willhaus strode directly towards Yang Fei, eyes aglow.

"Who are you?"

Everyone was somewhat astonished.

The entire hall was filled with dignitaries.

Yet no one expected Willhaus to focus first on this unremarkable engineer.

Yang Fei unassumingly drank the wine in his glass and extended a hand towards Willhaus.

"Engineer Jack, greeting the General."

Willhaus grasped Yang Fei's hand, gazing deeply into his eyes.

"I know you. You saved George's life at the Eagle Mountain Circuit."

Yang Fei smiled slightly, "It's nothing, just a stroke of luck."

Willhaus released Yang Fei's hand, his eyes hawk-like, still fixed on Yang Fei.

"I will investigate your identity. If you are a good man, I'll recommend you to the Royal Laboratory."

"If you harbor ill intentions, hmph, I'll personally kill you."

Yang Fei was startled, shrinking slightly, "General, I am a good man."

Willhaus sneered, opening his left palm, then curling his fingers one by one into a powerful fist.

"Good or bad, life or death, honor or disgrace, I decide."

With that, he turned and walked towards George, his tone just as cold as ever.

"Prince George, I'm here specifically for the Mithril Ore."

George nodded, stepped onto a platform, his voice clear.

"Esteemed guests, I thank you for attending. To enliven the event, I will present some trifles for auction. If they please you, feel free to take them home for admiration."

With George's words, both male and female guests responded with cheerful applause.

As is well known, George's collection consisted of pieces held within the Royal Family.

Despite his modest words, each item was a valuable treasure.

Under the busy hands of servants, the banquet temporarily turned into a small auction.

This private auction was arranged very casually.

Those present would definitely not quarrel over one or two pieces, harming their cordial relationships.

George had the staff bring out a sandalwood box, unveiling the auction items one by one.

These included a ten-carat South African Diamond Ring, pearls as large as sea bowls, a sharp Bronze Longsword, and even Blue and White Porcelain from Huaxia.

Each auction item had a starting price and the minimum increment noted on it.

This imperial family-internal auction was more about appreciation than bidding, with a very relaxed atmosphere.

Some women fond of jewelry gathered around the auction table, discussing either excitedly or reservedly.

If someone fancied an item, they began to bid, with several courteous attendants serving the guests.

Yang Fei looked on with utter boredom at this leisurely lifestyle of the nobles, secretly feeling contemptuous.

At the same time, he also anticipated the Mithril Ore entering the auction process.

Willhaus seemed impatient, striding over to George's side.

"Where is the Mithril Ore?"

Such questioning was quite impolite.

Strangely, though, when it came from Willhaus, no one felt it was inappropriate.

George smiled slightly, gesturing for the staff to present a gold and jade-encrusted combination lock box, which radiated an extraordinary aura.

The staff opened the lock box, taking out an irregular, black mineral and placing it on a yellow silk cloth.

The crowd had initially been filled with anticipation for the Mithril Ore, but now they felt somewhat disappointed.

Nobody understood why George and Willhaus valued this black stone so much.

George waved with a smile, signaling Willhaus to take a closer look himself.

Willhaus's eyes contracted, striding over to carefully examine the item.

Though he remained composed, everyone knew that this iron-blooded general was immensely excited.

Whatever could make Willhaus examine it so closely, there were likely few such things in the world.

Meanwhile, Yang Fei was thoroughly moved.

For some reason, he could sense a destructive aura from this piece of Mithril Ore, seemingly containing a mysterious energy.

Willhaus glanced over it briskly without even looking at the starting price, immediately naming a price.

"Ten million US Dollars, I'll take it."
