Elven Domination: Reincarnated with a Cloning System

Chapter 77: Delusion Finally Broken!

Arthur spoke those exact words that Fira had taught him previously. After saying them, he could feel a bit of his mana leaving his body and entering the parchment in front of him.

The bottle of blue strange liquid she had given him, which she called a mana potion, he didn't even keep in his hand and put it down on the table.

"I swear upon my mana that I won't tell any lies for the next one minute."

Arthur could feel something had been bound to the mana in his body. He could sense that if he thought about it, he could break those shackles very easily, but he didn't do so. However, it aroused his curiosity, as he was going to think about it a bit later since right now he had to focus on the crazy Fira in front of him.

He looked directly into her eyes with confidence, which made her question if it was pure stupidity or if he was really telling the truth the whole time, as he had even put the mana potion down on the table as if he wouldn't even be needing it.

A horror-filled thought arose in her mind.

'If what he was saying was really true then...'

She completely disregarded the thought as she wouldn't be able to show her face to him if that ever happened.

This would prove she was the one who was delusional the whole time, but she calmed down a bit knowing that she wouldn't be wrong.

Arthur didn't waste any more time as he knew he only had one minute to prove himself, so he decided to get directly to the point and said it with a confident and resolute voice.

"Fira, I am not in love with you."

Fira heard him clearly. She was ready to help him by making him drink the mana potion, but he didn't show any form of reaction after saying those words.

'I-It can't be.'

'Is he really telling the truth the whole time, and I am the one who was stupidly believing this whole time that Arthur was in love with me?'

'No!! It can't be.'

But the truth stood in front of her. No matter how much she denied it, it wasn't going to change anything. He had used the contract, then said those words—it had to be the truth.

She asked him in desperation, her voice a bit shaky when she asked him that.

"H-Have you r-really never been in l-love with me e-ever before?"

Arthur heard her question and quickly answered her as he didn't have much time. He tried to be as clear as possible to not leave any doubts in her delusional mind.

"No, I have never been in love with you, Fira. Never!"

Fira heard him, her legs shaking as she realized how big of a misconception she had in believing he was in love with her. She really didn't know what to do now and how to behave in front of him. She was completely lost now.

'W-What should I say to him now?'

She had told him he was in love with her when he wasn't and had even rejected him without thinking about anything. She knew it must have hurt him to see his own friend acting such a way, but what could she say as she had wholly believed he was in love with her.

"I-I am r-really s-sorry, Arthur." She could only muster up the courage to say these words while looking at the ground, not meeting his eyes.

She knew she had messed up badly this time.

Arthur could tell she was really ashamed of her behavior, so he could forgive her but not without giving her an important message not to make wild assumptions like that. Even if she did, she could just confirm with him. He also let her know that it hurt his feelings a bit too.

But in the end, he forgave her for her mistake.

"I do forgive you as you have called me your best friend. Make sure to not make wild assumptions like that ever again."

Fira could only nod shyly in response to his words. He had also called her best friend, which made her feel very warm inside.

She felt very grateful that he had forgiven such a grave mistake of hers, which she was never going to make again as she didn't think he would forgive so easily every time.

'I won't mess up anymore.'

Arthur released a deep sigh as finally he had cleared such a big misunderstanding. However, he was not done just yet. She had said some other things too, which he would like to get more details of, like when he went outside...

He asked her. Fira explained everything without hiding anything, but she had become like how he had first met her. She had started to be shy once again, but he knew the reason for it, so he believed she would be back to usual in no time.

After hearing everything, he came to know about how she had decided to send someone after him when he would leave from here to protect him, and after that, he would feel indebted to her so she would give him a job in her estate as a butler, so he didn't have to worry about anything as she would give him good treatment.

But Arthur was surprised she still didn't reveal her identity to him, so he decided to not question her about it even when she looked too ordinary and was working as a cook here.

He said his goodbyes to her but not before telling her that she didn't have to send someone after him, as he really didn't want someone to spy on him and find out about his secrets.

Arthur had seen the reluctance on her face, but he got her to agree to it anyway because of how she was feeling right now. If it had been normal, she would have argued about it. He also told her he would be regularly practicing his Elvish with her from now on and left for his room.

He was itching to have a proper workout, but he had decided to decrease its time a little to focus a bit on magic too. He chose not to train so hard that he wouldn't be able to function properly.
