Chapter 53: Genetic Assimilation (2)
"I don't know how, but I know about it, master, and also know how to do it. I just have to become one with the master."
'Become one with me, huh? It does sound wrong, but I know it shouldn't be what I am thinking of.'
He knew she would cease to exist after the Genetic Assimilation, so there was something different in the mind of the crimson-haired beauty, Ember, in front of him.
He felt relieved she knew about it, as he didn't know how it would work. However, now comes the most important question.
"Ember, I have decided to assimilate with you. How do you feel knowing that your existence will end afterward?"
Ember heard what her master had said. Even knowing she would cease to exist, she didn't feel sad. She felt it was her duty to help her master, follow every one of his wishes. Knowing assimilating with him would help him in his journey, and she would also become a part of him.
She felt grateful that she had been given such an opportunity because she could tell her master was weak right now. To help him, she would do everything she could.
But she does feel a bit sad she wouldn't be able to be near him after the assimilation. However, that sadness got replaced by her happiness that she would become part of her master.
While having these thoughts in her mind, she had an expressionless look on her face.
Arthur, through his connection, had felt every bit of emotion she had felt. Most of the time, she felt joy, but only for a moment, she did feel sadness.
Arthur knew she was ready to assimilate with him just through her emotions, but he was curious why she was sad for a moment.
'Does she want to be alive like every other being, as death was something scary to all creatures?'
"Why were you a bit sad for a moment, Ember?" Arthur asked her.
Ember didn't even feel curious how her master knew what she felt and instead answered him.
"Master, it was only because I wouldn't be able to accompany you more, but knowing I would become part of you and help you become stronger, it would be my honor to be a part of you."
Arthur did read in the details that the Clone would be loyal to him, but seeing the loyalty firsthand gave him chills.
'I would never forget her sacrifice.'
He was about to order her to start the assimilation, but before that, he decided to ask her one more thing.
"Ember, I know you felt different emotions, but why is it that your face is expressionless?"
Ember answered him.
"That was only because you haven't ordered me to show my emotions, master."
'What the freak.'
Arthur had thought she didn't know how to show her emotions, but her answer made him realize once again how extreme the loyalty of the clone he had made was.
"This would be our last meeting, so show your emotions freely."
Seeing her smile after hearing his words, Arthur was dazed for a second because of how gorgeous she looked.
But he couldn't keep dragging this on, so he had decided now is the time to start the assimilation.
"Are you ready to start, Ember?"
Ember answered him with a smile on her face.
"Always, master."
"Alright, start the Genetic Assimilation," Arthur said, having a serious look on his face. He had endured such hellish pain when creating the clone, so he had prepared himself for the pain this time too.
Hearing the command of her master, Ember is ready to start the assimilation. She feels like she just has to touch her master and imagine the feeling of becoming one with him. The most important part was he had to order her, which he had already given her.
Both of them are facing each other, standing in the room.
This was her last moment with her master. She could have chosen to just hold his hand, but she decided to take a step and hug him. She would have never done something like this without his permission.
But it doesn't specify how she should touch him, and she wanted this last memory to be a memorable one.
Arthur was shocked by the sudden hug. He could feel her soft body around him; he could even hear her calm heartbeat, which made him surprised once again.
He chose not to interrupt her, as he believed this was how the assimilation was supposed to be.
Ember's body now started to glow in an eternal red light. Arthur, seeing that, knew it was starting now.
The red transparent screen popped up in front of him.

Seeing how little time he had, Arthur didn't panic, because he already knew what he wanted, as he thought in his mind.
'I choose Talent Mana Genius (SS) and Affinity Fire (SS).'

"Goodbye, master."
Arthur, hearing her, answered her while returning her hug, knowing she would be gone forever now.
"Goodbye, Ember. I will always remember you."
Through his connection, he could feel her joy, even in the time when her existence would cease to exist.
