Chapter 9: Chapter 9: Awkward Sisters
"Quick, quick, I need to call the... police, I need to call the police...!"
Marina Akizuki, trembling, took out her phone, ready to dial the number.
Home invasion, assault, and even... her sister being violated by her own father—this was absolutely outrageous!
"Sis, no! You're mistaken!"
Airi Akizuki, who had thought she would be caught by Marina, quickly shouted to stop her from calling the police.
"Mistaken...?"
Upon hearing this, Marina Akizuki froze, halting her actions.
"Sis, come here. Let me explain what happened."
Seeing her sister frozen in confusion, Airi took a deep breath and then raised her hand to gesture for her to come over. She couldn't help but feel a bit helpless; despite it being her first time, she had been with Blake Silverstone several times, which had left her feeling weak all over.
Airi then explained the events that had occurred, using a special tone, to let Marina sit at the bedside.
"So, you're saying that Dad sprayed aphrodisiac on you and tried to rape you? Fortunately, your boyfriend came to visit and saved you, and that's why things ended up like this...?"
Marina Akizuki looked at Airi in confusion, stunned. This story sounded like something out of a TV drama.
"Of course, why would I lie to you? I told you Kouzou Akizuki was a scumbag, but you didn't believe me. Stay away from him in the future. If he did this to me, next time he might do it to you."
Seeing that Marina still seemed skeptical, Airi's expression grew angry as she spoke, her words filled with concern and warning.
"I... I understand."
Hearing Airi's words, Marina, feeling disoriented, nodded dazedly. She was genuinely shocked by the events. She never imagined Kouzou Akizuki would do such a thing. Airi's warnings had been right.
Afterward, with Marina's help, Airi was carried to the bathroom to shower. They shyly talked about matters related to intimacy while sharing a peaceful moment, the sight almost beautiful in its innocence.
When Airi and Marina returned, having changed into their nightwear, the ambulance arrived to take Kouzou Akizuki, who had been bleeding from his head, away.
...
"Whew, finally finished cleaning. Why was it so messy?"
A somewhat tired Blake, sat on the living room sofa, panting slightly. He muttered in frustration. He had expected the new house to be fully equipped, but aside from the basic bed and sofa, there was almost nothing. Worse, the whole house seemed like it hadn't been cleaned in half a month, with dust everywhere. So, he had to do a major cleaning.
"Master, this is the result of altering the world. Originally, people had been living here until recently," Sia explained softly.
"With my request, the memory of the people in this world has been altered to remember that the family moved out half a month ago…"
Blake Silverstone sighed, completing what Sia hadn't finished explaining.
"That's right~" Sia replied sweetly.
Ding-dong—!
At that moment, the doorbell rang, and Blake paused, sensing a familiar presence through his spiritual powers. He smiled and went over to open the door.
"Hello, Blake, I came to see you. You should thank me."
Airi, looking much better now, saw that Blake didn't seem surprised, only smiling at her. She put her hands on her hips and spoke cheerfully.
"Ah, Mr. Blake, hello. Thank you for saving my sister. I'm Marina Akizuki, Airi's older sister."
Marina Akizuki bowed and introduced herself while thanking him.
"Marina, right? Airi Marina come in. We can talk inside. Although I don't have much here yet, I do have tea."
Blake smiled and nodded, then said.
Hearing her name directly called by Blake, Marina's face turned red, feeling a little flustered. It wasn't dislike or rejection; it was more of a sense of shyness. Blake's appearance and temperament were impeccable, and on top of that, he had saved Airi. She felt a sense of goodwill toward him instead of animosity.
However, as an ordinarily reserved girl, she found it hard to accept being called by her first name by a guy she had just met.
Before she could say anything, Blake turned around and walked into the house to brew tea, leaving her feeling helpless.
"Don't overthink it, sister. Blake is American, and in America, it's normal to call someone by their first name," Airi quickly added, sensing her sister's thoughts. She immediately pulled her inside.
Marina was momentarily surprised by Airi's explanation, and then her expression softened in understanding. However, she was still a bit amazed that Blake could speak such fluent Japanese despite being from the United States.
While Marina was lost in thought, Airi had already closed the door and led her into the room.
Blake briefly hosted Airi and Marina, and they spent a pleasant time chatting. With his vast knowledge from living through two lifetimes, Blake managed to make the sisters laugh continuously, easing any tension and making the atmosphere feel lighter. Over time, Blake bridged the gap between them with his wit and charm.
However, when Marina learned that Airi and Blake had only known each other for a day, she was taken aback. The speed with which they had become romantically involved and taken things further seemed like a lot for such a short period. She couldn't help but feel a little concerned, but seeing Blake's calm demeanor and knowing Airi's happiness was her priority, Marina decided to keep her thoughts to herself.
Deep down, Marina felt a bit envious, but she quickly dismissed the feeling. After all, she had a boyfriend, Da Ye, and she reminded herself not to get caught up in such thoughts. Even though Blake was undoubtedly more attractive and charismatic than Da Ye, she couldn't entertain such feelings toward her sister's boyfriend.
"Well, it's getting late. We should head back now," Marina said, taking a deep breath to center herself. She glanced at Blake before standing to leave.
"Are we leaving so soon?" Airi asked, her voice tinged with disappointment. She was enjoying her time with Blake and wasn't ready to part just yet.
"Yes, our door is broken and needs fixing," Marina replied quickly, not wanting to overstay her welcome.
"Ah, don't worry about it," Blake interjected. "I accidentally broke the door earlier. Let me fix it for you—please don't refuse. It's the least I can do."
Marina paused, a little taken aback by Blake's insistence. She had been hoping for a bit of space to calm down, but now she couldn't very well refuse him. His considerate gesture made it hard to say no.
"Alright, if you insist," Marina said, feeling a mixture of reluctance and appreciation. Blake's attentiveness was hard to resist.
---
Meanwhile, at the hospital, Airi and Marina's father, Kouzou, slowly regained consciousness. His head, wrapped in bandages, throbbed with pain, and his face was contorted with a mixture of rage and madness. His eyes burned with fury as he processed what had happened—the failed attempt to take Airi, and the brutal punishment he had received.
"I failed... I lost her..." Kouzou muttered under his breath, seething with anger. He had seen glimpses of Blake carrying Airi away before he blacked out. The implications were clear—Airi was no longer under his control.
"Since Airi is lost to me now, I won't hold back," Kouzou whispered, his voice laced with venom. The rage consuming him was overwhelming. "But Marina... she's still mine."
Ignoring the nurse's warnings, Kouzou paid his medical bills and discharged himself from the hospital. His mind was set—he would find a way to take Marina, even if Blake was standing in his way. Though he couldn't reveal the truth of his injuries, he had other methods at his disposal.
As Kouzou walked out of the hospital, lost in his dark thoughts, he failed to notice a stone in his path. His foot caught it, and he stumbled, crashing to the ground with a loud thud.
"Crack!"
A sickening crack echoed through the air as pain shot through Kouzou's body. He screamed in agony, his face contorting as he clutched at the spot where the stone had struck. Blood oozed from the wound, and he fainted from the shock and pain.
The scene was almost comical to onlookers. A group of people gathered, watching with a mix of pity and amusement as Kouzou lay on the ground, groaning in pain. They couldn't help but laugh at his misfortune—he had tripped over a stone, and it had struck him in the most sensitive of places.
One kind-hearted passerby quickly called for help, and a nurse arrived to take Kouzou back to the hospital. He was only a few steps from the entrance, but his luck had failed him in the most unexpected way.
Blake, meanwhile, had no idea about Kouzou's accident. After fixing the door at Airi and Marina's house, he bid them goodbye, feeling a sense of satisfaction. He was tired after the long day, but content knowing he had helped.
He returned home, lying down on his bed with a deep sigh. It had been his first experience of such a physically exhausting day, and he was eager to rest. Little did he know that Kouzou's plans were far from over, and his own fate was intertwined with the family's future.
