Chapter 10: Chapter 10: Masato Oono

Note: changed (Blank energy) to Aether energy

Saint Maple Academy, Class 3-A—

The middle-aged teacher finished his opening speech as the door creaked open. A striking young man in the school's uniform stepped in, exuding an aura of confidence.

Silver hair, piercing blue eyes, flawless features, and a refined demeanor—it was clear to everyone that this was no ordinary student.

"Hello, everyone. I'm Blake Silverstone, a transfer student from America. I look forward to studying with you all."

Blake's gaze swept over the class before briefly meeting Marina's wide-eyed stare. He smiled faintly and completed his introduction.

The room, previously silent, immediately erupted into chaos.

The girls squealed in excitement, while the boys glared daggers at Blake, feeling the threat of a new rival. Those without girlfriends groaned in despair, while others clenched their fists in frustration, noticing their girlfriends eyeing Blake with admiration.

"Alright, settle down! Class is starting!"

The teacher knocked on his desk, and the room quickly quieted. His authority was evident.

"Blake, for now, you can take a seat at one of the desks in the back," the teacher said, gesturing toward an empty spot.

The teacher gestured toward the back of the classroom, his tone calm and approachable. He appreciated polite and composed students like Blake Silverstone.

"Got it."

Blake nodded and walked toward his assigned seat. As he passed by Marina Akizuki, he flashed her a lighthearted smile, a casual greeting.

"Damn it!"

At one of the desks, a male student, Masato Oono, clenched his fists, his face twisting with fury. Seeing Marina blush slightly at Blake's smile, he couldn't suppress his anger.

Marina Akizuki, so this is why you won't let me hold your hand or even touch you? Turns out you're sneaking around with another guy behind my back! Unforgivable!

As Blake settled into his seat, he felt a surge of hostility directed at him. His brow furrowed slightly, and he turned toward the source: a plain-looking boy staring at him with intense resentment.

"Sia, scan his information for me," Blake murmured.

"Yes, Blake."

A sweet, feminine voice responded, and a virtual display materialized in front of Blake.

Name: Masato Oono

Age: 18

Luck Value: 38

Assessment: A minor character with relatively good luck. Leveraged Marina Akizuki's gentle nature to accept his confess successfully.

"Luck value 38? Not bad. But as the description says, he's really that kind of person. Just because I smiled at Marina, he's glaring at me like he wants me dead. The worst part? He doesn't even bother to hide his emotions."

Shaking his head, Blake dismissed the thought. Masato was just a small fry, unworthy of his attention.

He closed his eyes, focusing on his new Aether energy refinement. Blake's current energy reserves were far below even that of a low-class devil, and he wasn't one to waste precious time.

---

As the school bell rang, signaling the end of class, a group of girls rushed over to surround Blake. They peppered him with questions about everything from his hobbies to the brand of his underwear, leaving his lips twitching in disbelief.

These girls are relentless.

Although surrounded by excited female classmates, Blake showed no particular interest. Most of them were little more than ordinary girls—charming, perhaps, but lacking the spark to catch his eye. He answered their questions politely but without enthusiasm.

"Blake, can I speak to you for a moment?"

A soft, hesitant voice cut through the chatter. Blake looked up to see Marina standing at the edge of the group, her face tinged with uncertainty.

"Sorry, ladies," Blake said with a light smile. "Marina needs to talk to me. Could you give us a moment?"

"Oh, okay."

The girls exchanged glances, reluctantly stepping aside while shooting curious looks at the two. Blake stood and walked toward Marina.

"Let's talk outside," he suggested.

"Alright."

---

Meanwhile, Masato, who had been watching the interaction, slammed his fist on his desk, his teeth gritted in frustration.

He called her by her first name?! So, they're really that close? Dammit!

The loud thud startled the class, drawing everyone's attention. Masato sat stiffly in his seat, his face dark with suppressed anger.

Most students exchanged knowing looks, some smirking. Masato had always flaunted his relationship with Marina, pretending to be the perfect couple. Now, it seemed his bravado had come back to bite him.

---

Outside the classroom, Marina spoke softly, her cheeks tinged with pink.

"Blake... I didn't expect you to be the transfer student the teacher mentioned. And you're even in my class."

"Really?" Blake chuckled. "I thought I told you yesterday."

"You didn't!" Marina retorted, giving him a playful glare. "I was completely shocked when I saw you walk into the classroom."

"Ah, my bad. I must've forgotten." Blake scratched the back of his head, feigning embarrassment. "Still, isn't it nice that we're in the same class? It feels like fate."

"Maybe it is," Marina murmured, momentarily dazed by his smile.

While the two chatted comfortably outside, Masato's jealousy boiled over inside the classroom. He couldn't stand the sight of Marina and Blake walking back together, laughing and talking as if no one else mattered.

---

When the next class ended and the final bell rang, Marina approached Blake with an apologetic expression.

"Blake, I was going to show you around the school today, but I have a club meeting to attend. I'm sorry…"

"Don't worry about it," Blake replied with a gentle smile. "I need to pick up Airi anyway. Go ahead, or you'll be late."

---

Through his cultivation techniques, Blake could sense the growing malice emanating from Masato. Without even looking, he knew the boy's face must be twisted with rage and resentment.

Shrugging it off, Blake closed his eyes once more, channeling his energy as if nothing had happened.
