Chapter 135 Cai Qiang
"If…" As he said this, the dean seemed to have a realization and abruptly turned to look at Liu Ergou, who had a smile on his lips.
"Ah! Don't tell me the Divine Doctor is you!" the dean exclaimed, a bit slow on the uptake.
Hearing this, Liu Ergou nodded with a grin. "Looks like you're not a complete idiot after all. Who else could it be?"
Upon hearing Liu Ergou's words, the dean immediately brightened up, a smile spreading across his face. "Oh my, oh my! This is wonderful! Liu Ergou, come on, hurry and take a look at the old man. We absolutely can't let him die!"
As he spoke, the dean used all his strength to drag Liu Ergou over to the old man. Liu Ergou had intended to help the dean from the start, so naturally, he didn't resist.
When Liu Ergou reached the old man, he took one look and shook his head. "Forget it. He's beyond saving. His heart is about to stop. Here's an idea: you all should hurry to the crematorium. If there's no traffic, you might even get him cremated while he's still warm!"
The moment he said this, the entire ward fell into a deathly silence. The dean stared at Liu Ergou in horror.
After a long moment, the dean finally spoke up. "Stop fooling around! Enough! Bro! Er Gou! I'm calling you my elder brother now, so please, stop messing around at such a critical moment. Can you save this old man or not?"
Seeing the dean's pleading expression, Liu Ergou laughed and patted his shoulder. "Look at you. It was just a little joke. Why so tense?"
He glanced at the old man again. "I've taken a look. To anyone else, he'd be a lost cause. I have some confidence, but I can't guarantee a full recovery. Let's give it a try. After all, I'm the one who caused this mess."
With that, Liu Ergou took out a cloth bundle from his chest. He unfolded it, revealing a set of gleaming silver needles within.
Liu Ergou picked up a needle and turned to everyone, including the dean and Qian Xiaoling. "Everyone, leave this room immediately! Leave the rest to me."
No sooner had he finished speaking than everyone left without the slightest hesitation. As the dean departed, however, he cast a worried glance back at Liu Ergou, clearly afraid he wasn't up to the task.
But Liu Ergou paid him no mind. Instead, he turned his attention to the old man on the hospital bed, whose every exhale seemed greater than his inhale. A hint of anticipation appeared on Liu Ergou's face.
He was heard muttering to himself, "I can't believe the first time I use my Divine Dragon Life-Extending Needle, it's on an old man like you! But it's not a total loss. This is a perfect chance to see just how miraculous the Divine Dragon Life-Extending Needle really is, and how it stacks up against the Hundred Turns Nine Sounds Phoenix Needle!"
With that, a silver needle flew from Liu Ergou's hand and pierced the old man's temple, moving so fast it left only a silver glint in the air. More needles followed, flying from his hands and embedding themselves in the old man's body. The number of needles on the man's body grew, eventually forming a mystical pattern.
At this moment, Liu Ergou finally nodded.
"Vibrate!" he uttered a soft command.
At his word, the needles began to hum. The frequency of the humming was much faster than before, sounding like a mobilized swarm of bees. But the sound wasn't chaotic; it possessed its own unique rhythm.
While Liu Ergou was treating the old man, Qian Xiaoling, the dean, and the others waited anxiously in the corridor. As for the men Liu Ergou had beaten up, they had been carted off to the emergency room by the doctors.
The dean sat on a bench in the corridor, sighing endlessly. The constant sound was starting to give Qian Xiaoling a headache.
Just as she was about to say something, a security guard ran in from the hospital entrance, stumbling as he went. The moment he ran in, he shouted, "Dean, this is bad! Really bad! Cai Qiang somehow heard his father's condition is critical! He's at the hospital entrance now with a group of men, saying he's here for revenge!"
Upon hearing this, the dean's face turned ashen, and he slumped back into his chair.
The inevitable has finally come.
"Don't stop them," the dean said to the security guard. "Let them in. I don't want any of our guards getting hurt over this."
The guard nodded, spoke a few words into his walkie-talkie, and then put it away. Not five minutes after the message went out, a massive, intimidating crowd of people flooded in from outside, completely packing the first floor.
Just then, Cai Qiang stepped out from the crowd. He looked at the dean sitting on the bench and sneered. "What's going on? I hear my brother and my father got beaten up. And now my father is dying? What the hell is going on?!"
Hearing Cai Qiang's questions, the dean didn't dare say a word. He just sat there, head lowered in silence.
Seeing the silent dean, Cai Qiang strode forward and, without any courtesy, slapped him twice across the face.
SLAP! SLAP!
"I'm talking to you! Are you deaf?!" Cai Qiang roared, grabbing the dean's collar. "If you don't start talking, I don't mind crippling you today!"
Cai Qiang had barely finished speaking when a nearby, tightly shut ward door slowly pushed open. A tall figure emerged and walked right up to him.
Just as Cai Qiang was about to speak, the tall figure before him broke into a mocking smile and spoke first. "Listen, if you want your dad to live, you'd better get on your knees and kowtow to me three times. Got it?"
As soon as these words were spoken, everyone present froze as if turned to stone.
Has Liu Ergou lost his mind? the dean thought, staring at the tall figure. Does he have a death wish? How dare he say something like that to Cai Qiang! The last person who did ended up miserable.
The atmosphere remained utterly silent for a full minute. Then, someone started to laugh. This single laugh quickly swelled into a wave of mockery from the entire crowd.
"Hahaha! Hahaha!"
Hearing the uproar, the dean couldn't help but press a hand to his forehead.
