Chapter 136: No!
Why has Liu Ergou suddenly become so unreliable?
As the dean's head throbbed, Liu Ergou stood across from Cai Qiang, sizing him up. This was the first time Liu Ergou had gotten a proper look at him. The last time, he had only caught a brief glimpse through the peephole of a dark corridor, making it impossible to see Cai Qiang's features clearly. All he knew was that he was a sissy, and a particularly disgusting one at that.
Cai Qiang had a rather delicate appearance and was of medium height. At first glance, he could be mistaken for a girl, but he was, in fact, a man. When he noticed Liu Ergou staring at him, he couldn't help but frown.
"What are you looking at!"
The shrill voice sent an involuntary shiver down Liu Ergou's spine. His tone is exactly the same as last time. No wonder Lu Shuangyue called him a damn sissy; it's no injustice at all.
But despite being effeminate, Cai Qiang was extremely ruthless. Seeing that Liu Ergou was just silently staring, Cai Qiang frowned, then grabbed the steel pipe in his hand and started walking toward him, looking like he was about to attack. This finally prompted the dean, who could no longer stand by, to quickly step between them.
"Cai Qiang! Smash my hospital, and I won't say a word, but hurting people is absolutely out of the question!"
Hearing the dean, Cai Qiang let out a cold sneer and kicked him fiercely in the waist. With a pained yelp, the dean went rolling to one side.
The next second, without the slightest hesitation, Cai Qiang raised the steel pipe and swung it down at Liu Ergou's head. It happened so fast that Qian Xiaoling, standing nearby, didn't even have a chance to react.
"AH!" Qian Xiaoling screamed, squeezing her eyes shut. She could already picture Liu Ergou with his head split open and bleeding.
But after she closed her eyes, she didn't hear Liu Ergou's cry of pain. Instead, she heard the sound of everyone present gasping in shock. This made Qian Xiaoling's curiosity get the better of her, and she opened her eyes.
A large hand belonging to Liu Ergou was firmly clamped around the steel pipe, holding Cai Qiang completely immobile as if caught in a vise grip.
Seeing this, Cai Qiang didn't panic. He even managed a sneer. "Heh, you really think you're some kind of superhero! Catching my steel pipe with your bare hands? Your hand must be fractured. Stop trying to act tough in front of me!"
As he spoke, Cai Qiang tried to yank the steel pipe out of Liu Ergou's grasp. However, no matter how hard he pulled, the pipe remained firmly clutched in Liu Ergou's hand, as unmoving as if it were welded there.
Watching Cai Qiang struggle, Liu Ergou let out a cold laugh. "Cai Qiang, I've heard of you. You're considered someone of importance in this town, so I won't make things difficult for you. I won't even make you kowtow. Just apologize to everyone here, right now, and maybe I can save your dad. But if you continue down this foolish path, do you believe I can send you to meet your father this very instant?"
As he said this, Liu Ergou's gaze turned frigid.
At the same time, a powerful and terrifying aura erupted from Liu Ergou, pressing down on everyone with such force that they dared not move a muscle. The crowd felt as if a fierce beast had them in its sights, and if they so much as twitched, they would be torn to shreds in the next second.
Even Liu Ergou, the one emanating this pressure, was momentarily taken aback. I can't believe I can emanate such an aura. He didn't dwell on the why of it, as now was not the time for such thoughts. There would be plenty of time to ponder it after he dealt with Cai Qiang.
As the aura spread, the once-arrogant Cai Qiang fell silent, standing frozen like a stone statue. He felt like a tiny boat on a stormy sea, at risk of being swallowed by the waves at any moment and plunged into an abyss from which there was no return. He wanted to speak, but his throat felt as if it were clamped shut, rendering him unable to make a sound.
Witnessing this, Liu Ergou sneered inwardly. It seems that sometimes, you just can't reason with thugs like these. If you really want to teach them a lesson, fists are the best way. Only a good punch can make them understand the most profound truths.
Oppressed by the powerful aura, everyone present finally calmed down enough to think clearly. As they did, one of the men who had come with Cai Qiang had a sudden realization.
"B-Boss…"
The call snapped the petrified Cai Qiang back to his senses. "Hmm? What is it?"
Cai Qiang turned to see one of his underlings behind him. Seeing he had his boss's attention, the man didn't dare hesitate. "Boss, I heard something from my brother's wife's uncle's sister! They said that a Divine Doctor appeared at the town officials' gathering a couple of days ago. This doctor cured the town secretary's mother of her serious illness. This Divine Doctor has one very distinctive feature: he has an incredibly powerful build!"
As he said this, the underling cautiously glanced at Liu Ergou before adding, "I think the man in front of us has a build pretty similar to that Divine Doctor's!"
As soon as these words were spoken, an uproar went through the crowd. No one could believe it. How could they run into such a formidable Divine Doctor so easily in a hospital? Even more absurd was the fact that they had brought weapons and were about to beat him up.
The more they thought about it, the more impossible it seemed. And yet, upon further reflection, there seemed to be some truth to it. And so, everyone was caught in a quandary, unsure of what their next move should be.
After hearing this, Cai Qiang also fell into deep thought, his first concern being the truthfulness of the information. Although he had never attended those gatherings himself, people he knew had, and he did recall them mentioning a Divine Doctor. He hadn't paid it any mind, assuming it was just some silly story. Even if Liu Ergou's build matched the Divine Doctor's, Cai Qiang was unwilling to believe they were the same person.
"Impossible, absolutely impossible!" Cai Qiang declared loudly to the crowd. "How could he be the Divine Doctor! I had someone investigate him. He's just some small-time village doctor, not a Divine Doctor at all!"
