Chapter 114: Mobile Phone
Looking at Zhang Yuehong at the door, Liu Ergou asked coldly, "What are you doing here?"
"Is there something you need? If so, say it and go. Don't bother me here!"
Hearing this, Zhang Yuehong froze for a moment before putting on a look of disdain.
"Nothing important. I just came to see when you're finally leaving!" she said. "Having a country bumpkin like you in the house makes me uncomfortable!"
Upon hearing this, Liu Ergou's face darkened. Zhang Yuehong was at it again, stirring up trouble for no reason. Does she really think I'm that easy to bully?
Just as Liu Ergou was about to speak, he noticed a fleeting look of guilt in her eyes. He was taken aback for a second, but then he understood.
Turns out, I've already conquered this woman. She's just too proud to admit it, so she has to put on this act.
Realizing this, Liu Ergou chuckled slyly. He reached out, pulled Zhang Yuehong into his room, and shut the door.
"You're uncomfortable, huh?" he purred. "There are more uncomfortable things waiting for you!"
With that, he lifted Zhang Yuehong and tossed her directly onto the bed.
At this, Zhang Yuehong seemed to get into character, feigning fear. Her voice trembled as she asked, "What—what are you doing? I'm telling you, don't you dare try anything funny! My husband is still home!"
Seeing her act, Liu Ergou laughed heartily and pounced on her.
The night flew by for Liu Ergou, but for Zhang Yuehong, it dragged on agonizingly. To say each moment felt like a year would be no exaggeration. Liu Ergou was simply too vigorous for her to handle.
It wasn't until the early hours of the morning that Liu Ergou finally relented. After resting for a good while, Zhang Yuehong left his room, limping and leaning against the wall for support.
Watching her retreating figure, Liu Ergou shook his head and smiled. This woman really is strange.
But he didn't dwell on it. He simply lay down on the bed and fell into a deep sleep.
「The next morning arrived in a flash.」
The morning was uneventful. Fu Yan went to work as usual, leaving just Fu Ya and Zhang Yuehong at home.
Liu Ergou had planned to just laze around in bed all day, but before he could act on it, Fu Ya insisted on going shopping and dragged him out of the house. She whisked him through various malls, with her doing the buying and him carrying the bags. By noon, he was laden with shopping bags of all kinds.
After a morning of running around, even someone as physically strong as Liu Ergou was exhausted. Sitting in a beverage shop, he couldn't help but sigh.
Taking a woman shopping is no easy task. Even I can barely handle it.
Across from him, however, Fu Ya was still bursting with energy. Liu Ergou couldn't help but marvel.
Women truly are a fearsome species.
Just as he was about to enjoy his break, Fu Ya suddenly asked him, "Er Gou, do you have a cell phone? I noticed you haven't taken one out this whole time. Do you not have one?"
Hearing this, Liu Ergou paused. I do have a phone, of course, but it belongs to the old bachelor back in the village, not me. And that phone is too old and shabby to be seen in public.
Thinking this, Liu Ergou shook his head. "No, I don't really need a cell phone in the village. Whenever there's news, the village committee just announces it over the loudspeaker!"
Hearing this, Fu Ya, who had been quiet for barely a minute, immediately perked up again.
"Oh, is that so? Well, since you don't have a phone, come on, Er Gou! I'm taking you to buy one!"
Without giving him a chance to reply, she grabbed him and made a beeline for a phone store, much to his chagrin.
Damn it! Why did I have to say I didn't have a phone?
But it was too late for regrets. The pitiable Liu Ergou was dragged along by Fu Ya, forced into a trot as she headed for the nearest store.
As soon as they entered, Fu Ya called out to a sales clerk, "Hurry and bring out the most expensive phone you have!"
However, the clerk remained indifferent, as if she hadn't heard a thing. She just stood there languidly, not even deigning to glance at them.
Fu Ya immediately furrowed her brows, her temper rising. "Is everyone in this store deaf?! I said I want to buy a phone! Bring out your most expensive one! Did you hear me?"
This time, Fu Ya's shout was exceptionally loud, and the clerk finally reacted. She glanced at Fu Ya, then looked Liu Ergou up and down. When her eyes landed on his plain clothes, she curled her lip in disdain.
"Tsk! What's all the shouting for? Do you even know how much the most expensive phone in here costs? Shouting like that... as if you could afford it."
"If you two keep shouting, I'm calling security!" After saying that, the clerk resumed her previous languid posture.
This infuriated Fu Ya. She strode forward, ready to give the clerk a piece of her mind, but Liu Ergou stopped her.
"Forget it, Fu Ya. If a dog bites you, you don't bite it back, do you?" he said calmly. "If they don't want business that walks through the door, we'll just find another store!"
With that, Liu Ergou started to lead Fu Ya away.
However, the languid clerk suddenly piped up. "Hey, you in the shabby clothes! Who are you calling a dog? Say it again if you dare!"
Hearing this, Liu Ergou snorted coldly without turning his head. "Whoever has to ask, of course."
His comeback sent Fu Ya into a fit of laughter. "Hahaha! Er Gou, you're brilliant!"
The clerk, hearing Fu Ya's mocking laughter, started seething. Pointing at Fu Ya, she began to curse loudly. "What are you laughing at? Look at all that makeup! It's obvious you're some rich man's mistress. Just a mistress, and you have the nerve to act so arrogant here!"
"Pfft! You're shameless! A mistress who dares to keep a man of her own! And to top it off, he's a country bumpkin fresh from the sticks! Tsk, tsk, tsk!"
The clerk's words thoroughly enraged Fu Ya.
"Say that again!" she snapped, whirling around to point a finger at the clerk.
Seeing Fu Ya's enraged expression, the clerk wasn't the least bit flustered. Instead, she sneered. "What's wrong? Did I strike a nerve? So what if I say it again? Go on, hit me if you dare!"
