"Hey, Old Fu, I should have been the one to do this!" Duan Guanghao said as he took out his phone to order the food.

Soon, the group returned to the hotel.

The people from the earlier gathering had not yet dispersed. Although the guest of honor had left, they had a feeling that sticking around might lead to some juicy gossip. With that thought, they decided to wait in the hotel. Their hunch turned out to be correct; they were about to get a huge scoop.

When they saw Fu Yan, Duan Guanghao, and Liu Ergou return, their eyes lit up. Before they could even start speculating, Duan Guanghao spoke first. "Ah, so you all haven't left yet!" he said. "Perfect! I have some great news to share. I've re-ordered dinner, so if you don't mind, please join us!"

When the Secretary spoke, how could anyone refuse? Everyone returned to the banquet hall, their faces etched with confusion. They had no idea what good news Duan Guanghao could possibly have to share.

The fastest ones squeezed their way to the front. "Young Brother Ergou," one of them said, holding out his glass. "I'm the owner of the town's coal mine. If it's not too much trouble, I would be honored to exchange contact information with you." As he spoke, his expression was one of pure, unadulterated respect.

Just as Liu Ergou was about to reply, more people pushed forward, all greeting him and asking for his contact details. The scene instantly descended into chaos, leaving Liu Ergou feeling overwhelmed. He had never experienced anything like this in his entire life, so he was understandably a little nervous.

Fu Yan, who was still talking with Duan Guanghao, noticed Liu Ergou's predicament and immediately pushed his way through the crowd to his side. "Alright, alright, everyone please calm down!" he shouted at the eager crowd. "Ergou just finished a difficult treatment and he's exhausted. He needs to rest. You can ask for his contact information another time!" With that, he grabbed Liu Ergou and started to lead him away.

Everyone present was a seasoned veteran; they understood Fu Yan's meaning immediately. Without another word, they all scattered and went back to their own business.

Fu Yan gave Duan Guanghao a nod and then took Liu Ergou home. The moment they stepped inside, Fu Yan burst out laughing. He laughed so heartily that Liu Ergou was actually a little scared, worried he might laugh himself into a fit. Fortunately, that didn't happen.

"Bro, you really did me a huge favor today! My promotion is pretty much a sure thing now!" Fu Yan exclaimed. "Don't worry, your medical license should be ready in a day or two. Just be patient. The system on my end isn't connected to theirs, so it really does take some time."

Liu Ergou heard this and nodded, indicating he understood.

After a bit more idle chatter, they each went to their rooms to rest.
