Chapter 66: : Xuan V Fang Yuan!

"Uurrrgghaa!!" No one had ever beaten him this badly in his entire life. Fang Yuan's face was refigured by Xuan's unbelievable punches.

Even when the punch sent him crashing against a pillar, Xuan did not leave room for Fang Yuan to feel that pain.

"Boom!" "He's mad, he destroyed the pillar like a tree branch," he thought, spinning in mid-air.

However, the moment he landed on his feet, Xuan was already there to sweep him off and—bam! Kweuk! Fang Yuan groaned. Getting his whole body slammed against the ground made his breathing stop.

"He's goi—" he groaned. "He's going to kill me."

Fang Yuan stood, blood painting his bruised face. Even then, he wasn't giving up on his friend just yet. "I know you're still there, Xuan," he said.

Fang Yuan stretched his hands behind him, and the black spear immediately found its way into his grip. He coughed.

As Xuan saw his weapon, he too summoned his big taboo sword, pointing it at Fang Yuan.

A fight between Mid Divine Stage and Late Divine Stage wasn't supposed to be this one-sided. "But then again," Fang Yuan added, weakly staring at Xuan.

"I don't want to die, so—" He weaved out a heavy breath. "I'll have to defend myself with brutal force until the gauntlet is—"

Swoosh~ Boom!

Unlike before, the way Xuan dashed toward him, he would have definitely landed a hit, but this time Fang blocked with his spear set horizontally.

The collision of the weapons shook the foundation of the palace, causing the ground beneath them to crack wide.

They both leaped back, but as their feet touched the ground, they exploded in speed once again. Xuan slashed for Fang Yuan's neck, but he missed, only destroying the pillar far from them.

Fang Yuan, who had dodged by catching Xuan in his tight hug, effortlessly flipped Xuan above his head. "Grhaaaa!" he yelled.

He picked up his spear and projected it at Xuan, who was mid-air, but the spear was quickly knocked away and pinned to the ground not far from Fang Yuan.

The moment the spear was pinned to the ground, it was instantly removed because Fang Yuan was already dashing toward Xuan, who had landed.

He gripped the spear with his damp hands. "Xuaaaan!!!" he yelled, swollen veins visible on his neck, forehead, and palms.

Xuan responded by dashing toward the bull. Boom! Their attacks sent a shockwave not just inside the palace but also outside.

Anything the shockwave made contact with shattered to pieces, like the pillars and the ground.

Fang Yuan was done being careful. If Xuan wouldn't listen, he would have to beat every breath out of him.

A bond shared by spirit beasts and their masters was one of the strongest bonds, because the master fused with their beast, gaining beast-like abilities and gauntlets.

But there was a cost for it: ten years would be removed from both the spirit beast and the master. In the case where one no longer had ten years left, death followed.

Fang Yuan knew he couldn't beat Xuan head-on, so as he yelled once more, a white light accompanied by lightning struck the palace, specifically Fang Yuan.

The light was so bright that the undead, mindless Xuan had to jump back. If he were himself, he would have been scared right now—but Xuan wasn't.

As the light slowly faded, in front of Xuan stood a man with long white hair. His robe on his chest was replaced by a glowing white "X."

White-silver wings gracefully spread behind his back. His arms were now white gauntlets shaped like stylized crane talons, and his feet resembled those of a crane beast.

Fang Yuan held his staff, now turned red, its sharp edges resembling the beak of his crane beast.

Xuan sighed.

Meanwhile...

The three girls, on the other hand, were not doing too well. The Undead King dealt a series of damages to them, to the point where Xi Ning was buried beneath rocks.

Zhao Lan was on her knees, breathing heavily, while Xue Ming was the only one left fighting. But she too was sent back when a palm forcefully connected with her abdomen.

They were still on top of the city's mountain and could tell the fight between Xuan and Fang Yuan was getting out of hand.

"Take Xi Ning and go," Xue Ming said, standing between the Elf King and Zhao Lan.

The Undead Elf King was only buying time—time enough for his army to break through the outskirts of the capital. Who was leading the undead troop?

"Soon my daughter will have your capital flooded with blood. You can join me as my wives, or die and become my undead."

Xue Ming barely gave ears to what he said. She was beginning to burn—her hair literally became hot flames.

"Xuan talks about how you helped him. I am sure he wouldn't want to lose you, so go," Xue Ming muttered.

Zhao Lan didn't expect this from Xue Ming. She had always thought Xue Ming was the type who didn't care about others, just like a president's daughter in her world.

Anyone below them were subjects, but Xue Ming wasn't on that list. "No; he wouldn't want to lose us," Zhao Lan stood up. "He's my husband too. Why would I let only you save him?" she teased.

"Hahaha, my undead it is then," said the Elf King.

All of a sudden, the air around them stiffened. A blue portal then opened to their left, whirling at one spot. The silhouette of a man could be seen behind it.

"So you allowed ten years in the underworld to go to waste without learning your lesson," the enigmatic figure walking out of the portal said.

"Xue Ming? Shouldn't you be in school?" Emperor Woo asked with a contagious jovial smile that melts Xue Ming.

She had never been more excited to see her father. And the Elf King had never been more excited to see Emperor Woo.
