Chapter 64: : Xuan Becomes an Undead [1]
"Where's Li Feng?" he asked. He hadn't jumped down to help them at all.
One of the prisoners pointed behind him, but that was just a rock—meaning they were behind the rock. Having the information he needed, Xuan yelled:
"Fury!!!" In that moment, before the prisoners could blink, the insane speed beast burst through—Boom!—along with no sign of Xuan.
"You should have let him free us first, you fool!" another random prison man cursed.
The dragon gleamed like a ghost against the sky, her scales white as fallen snow. She could be easily spotted during nights like this.
Her wings, described as lethal weapons of speed, stretched wide, pale and translucent at the edges.
There was a white finlike crest along her head, shifting like some great ears of a listening beast. Her long tail swept behind her, ending in a split of silvered fins.
The split silvered fins on her tail added to their unseen speed boost, and before they knew it, the marching undead, ice-like demons were not so far from them anymore.
"They're much, my liege."
But Xuan did not listen to Fury's warning and still insisted she keep going. After all, he was catching onto Li Feng's spirit energy.
However, out of nowhere, a blue flame was about to roast them from behind, but due to Fury's speed, she was able to fly upward.
At midair, she turned, joining her wings against herself and letting herself fall down with speed. This position allowed them to see the undead dragon that spat the flames.
The undead dragon was also bursting toward them, like two bulls ready to lock horns.
"Fury!!!... Furyyyy!" Xuan yelled, because the ice-skin dragon released another torrent of blue flames at them, and Fury seemed to be heading toward the flames.
But the moment it reached arm's length, Fury spat out a searing blast of fire, bright as the stars. All of a sudden, Xuan saw them behind the undead dragon.
"Teleportation," he understood the trick Fury played. But the man riding the undead dragon was surprised.
"Ah, so you must be Xuan." The Undead King stared at Xuan, both dragons flapping at one spot, facing each other.
"Fury, can your blast transport just me?" Xuan asked.
"Yes, my liege."
"If anything happens to me, return back to the cave."
"But my—"
"That's an order, F—"
Xuan was unable to complete her name as the undead dragon was now lunging at them, eyes dark as midnight.
And without wasting time, Fury attacked as well. This time, the moment the undead dragon beast was gathering flames, Fury was the first to spit out her flames.
In that moment, Xuan jumped in her sparking flames and appeared behind the Undead King with his venomous dagger.
However, the king saw that coming and blocked the attack with his arm. The anger Xuan had on his face reminded him of the look Emperor Woo once gave him.
After all, Xuan's personality was a copy of the Emperor, and he was pissed off. After blocking the attack, he quickly grabbed Xuan by the neck and threw him off the undead dragon.
In that same moment, Fury dodged the flames of the undead dragon, spun around, and as she appeared behind the dragon, she spat out her flames, hotter and faster than the dragon's.
It didn't take more than a minute, and the dragon was quickly incinerated by the red flames.
"My liege," Fury growled. Seeing Xuan falling down, she sped with her wings closed in and quickly caught Xuan in a swift moment.
Booom. While the Undead King crashed deep down to the ground, seeing he was defenseless gave Fury an edge, and as she flew above him, she left a trail of her flames boiling the ground.
Her scorching flames now burning the ground itself, Xuan wasn't satisfied just yet. This guy looked like someone who would know enough about Li Feng's whereabouts.
So he came down, walking toward him.
"Bwehehe... Beautiful," was the next thing Xuan heard before the Undead King stood up unscathed. Xuan had to stop approaching him.
He looked at Xuan's dragon with an interested eye and a smile. "A Fury~ now boy, you're not leaving here with—"
Kaboom. To hell with what he had to say, Xuan didn't wait around to find out and skyrocketed toward him unannounced, striking a punch at his face.
However, Xuan was too slow. The Undead King caught the fist, and the explosion was the cracked ground expanding beneath their feet. That punch alone was a nuclear bomb.
"Is that how you treat your father-in-law, boy?"
"What?" Xuan was caught off guard. He was thinking of what the Undead King had just said and failed to counter the punch buried in his chest.
Woosh... Kweuk.
Xuan was sent meters away from the Undead King, coughing out blood where he fell. His eyes were involuntarily forming tears.
"My liege."
Fury landed in front of Xuan and roared at the Undead King. Flames gathered in her exposed maw, and she didn't hold back to spit them out.
But the flames, like earlier, were ineffective against the Undead King. He still stood unscathed. That's when Xuan saw it for a moment.
The Undead King was burned, but it healed within seconds, just like the venomous cut. The arm he used to block the dagger was healed.
Which explained why he wasn't showing any signs of debuffs—the dagger didn't affect him.
"Majestic. A taboo Fury dragon and a taboo cultivator. Ah, he'll reward me indeed."
As the Undead King took a step forward, Fury gave signs of releasing another flame, so he stopped walking. He stretched his hands forward and muttered:
"Maybe you've forgotten about your friend. Arise, Carnage," said the Undead King.
With his words, the ground rumbled like an earthquake, and the undead dragon from earlier burst through behind the Undead King.
It roared violently at Fury, as if asking if she was prepared for round two. Of course she was, but Xuan wasn't going to risk it.
"Go, go now," said Xuan. He had stood up and was now the one standing in front of Fury to protect her, although he was wounded by that punch alone.
Even after hearing what her master said, Fury tried stepping forward.
"I said go." But Xuan made it clear. She didn't like the idea at all and angrily burst herself up into the sky.
The undead dragon attempted to follow, but he was stopped. "Let her go. You can't catch her, let alone be her match," he said, now giving full attention to Xuan.
"Where is she?" he asked, cleaning the bloodstains off his lips.
"Are you the son of Emperor Woo?" the Undead King asked, hiding his anger, but Xuan easily spotted it. He knew the history of elves and humans too well.
He was once a library nerd, so he knew Emperor Woo did a number on this guy. But what didn't add up for him was why he thought Xuan was the Emperor's son.
Xuan raised his dagger, pointing it at him. "If you don't tell me where she is, the Emperor won't be your only problem."

"You guys go in, and I'll wait outside. I'm not going in there," said the tracker.
He tracked Xuan down here, in front of a big tree guarded by four ice-like elf demons. Zhao Lan confirmed the elf country was just through that tree.
"Seriously? You're gonna let a bunch of ladies see you as a pussycat?" Han Bai taunted him.
"What?"
"See for yourself," said Han Bai. While they were both hiding behind the tree, Zhao Lan, Xue Ming, and Xi Ning single-handedly killed the guards.
Normally, they would require a special key to open the tree door, but it seemed with all the fighting going on, it wasn't needed.
Because they could see the city from the little split in the tree. "Woah," Han Bai's jaw dropped. He hadn't seen this magic before.
He even had to turn behind the tree to check if there was a city behind it. Han Bai was surprised and soon regrouped with the squad.
When they walked in, the destruction of the city embraced them. There weren't any more ice demons when they walked in. In fact, they could barely sense life force in here.
"Woah, no one's home," Fang Yuan pointed out the obvious.
"So where is he?" Zhao Lan asked. The tracker looked around. There were two roads, a black and a white. He was pointing at the white side.
The squad nodded among themselves and headed there. Arriving at the ruined entrance of the castle, the prisoners earlier were all slaughtered.
Blood and flames were the only things they could see. They had to stop at the entrance, staring at the only figure sitting at the far top of the stairs.
"That's... that's him! That's the guy I've been tracking down," the tracker said with an uneasy feeling.
Xuan, who had now become an undead, looked at his friends, and his venomous dagger appeared.
