Chapter 54: : Tomb Of a Taboo God [3]

They walked away, leaving the three of them. Xuan, the unspoken male, started whistling. "So we needed a female, uh, well, here's one," said Xuan.

To him, the whole situation was meant to happen by fate. Now, he just needed to know why they needed a female.

Xue Ming watched her friend leaving, but before they could go far, she yelled at them to wait.

"Uh?" Even Xuan was surprised. He had the confident smile that always pissed people off, and his hands were placed behind his head.

The alchemist group stopped walking and turned because of Sue Ninger. "Xue Ming," she said warmly.

"What if we teamed up, Sue Ninger? I promise Xuan won't be any trouble, and Boss will get to choose first."

Sue Ninger looked at Boss, the yellow-ponytailed male. He clenched his teeth because he knew Sue Ninger wouldn't say no to Xue Ming.

And he wanted to do anything he could to please Sue Ninger. "Please? Just let them join. We could need Xue Ming's help if we come across any demon."

Boss sighed. He looked at Xuan and Han Bai and said nothing before turning around to leave. The group saw it as him agreeing.

So Han Bai and Xuan followed behind. "Great, now someone else has to choose first, tsk," said Xuan.

Who would have thought the emperor's daughter would be breaking the academy's rule of not leaving the capital? But now, they were already in the outskirts.

"Hey, are you guys planning on taking the big tree route?" Han Bai quickly asked.

But the one with the map leading the way did not respond. None of the alchemist students responded. "Hey, you can't lead through the—"

"Shut up, you fool. We should have tied these morons behind," Boss was pissed off by their presence. He didn't want to hear their voices.

"The hell are you smiling at?" he faced Xuan.

"Nothing. Just how these guys are blindly following a moron. I think I should lead so I get to choose first."

Having heard what Xuan had to say, he was now pissed off to the point he shoved his friends aside. Reaching Xuan, he grabbed hold of him.

However, Xuan was still smiling. "Alright, hands off," said Xuan.

"Or what? I will not lose face to a nobody. Perhaps you can't read energies, but I'm at Divine Stage 02 already, and a Stage Eight martial like you would be crippled if we had to fight."

All of a sudden, Xuan stopped smiling. It seemed Boss misunderstood his smile as weakness. "I don't beat, I'd kill you. Now, hands off."

"Let him go," Xue Ming stepped in from behind Boss.

"What? Hey, no, no. Don't release your aura; you'd attract the demon Goliaths too quickly," Han Bai warned Boss.

But he didn't listen. Instead, he yelled, "Shut up," cracking the ground beneath his feet. With his strength extremely boosted, he was able to pick Xuan effortlessly from the ground and toss him toward a tree.

"Chen Fang, stop!" Sue Ninger yelled, but it was already too late. All the hate he had for dual cultivators, he directed at Xuan.

If it wasn't for dual cultivating techniques, then his mom would still be alive. But no, she died because of that sick technique.

From that day, Chen Fang hated them all.

"This guy is going to get us killed if he continues emitting energy," Han Bai pointed out.

Xuan killed the momentum of the throw and landed perfectly on his feet.

"Chen Fang, man, calm down," his friends tried calming him, but it wasn't helping.

As of now, Chen Fang was emitting flames that burned the ground he stood on. His eyes were burning with anger as he stared at Xuan.

He roared and charged in like a wounded lion. Xuan, on the other hand, wasn't worried at all. Chen Fang punched Xuan but missed terribly, falling to the ground.

Everyone was surprised Xuan wasn't dead but instead squatting near Chen Fang. "How about we call it a tie?" said Xuan.

"You bastaaaard!!!" Chen Fang yelled and attempted sweeping Xuan off his feet. However, he was always too slow.

This time, Xuan leaped backward, resting against a tree with a sigh that said he wasn't even trying.

But for Han Bai, this was expected. "Normally, a late martial would see Chen Fang's attacks as too fast, but too slow for a late Divine Stage."

The alchemist group turned to look at Han Bai, wondering if they heard right, because the Xuan in front of them was clearly giving off a late martial energy.

But when they turned to see how Xuan was playing with the fight, they had doubts.

"A false cultivator," one of them muttered. "He thinks he's at late martial when he's clearly surpassed that level."

"What? You're not buying that crap," the dual said. "Chen Fang is only pissed off. He isn't thinking straight."

"No, it's not that. I've heard of false cultivators. They grow extremely strong without realizing it. It's like their body doesn't want them to know their true strength, so it masks it with a lower rate."

"No, that's not just it," Han Bai chimed in, explaining the concept of false cultivators better. "The body wants to grow stronger, so it makes the host believe he's still weak. That way, the host will keep wanting more power, and before he reaches his peak, he wouldn't even know."

Xue Ming couldn't tell if they were just saying things or if it was true, although with the way the fight was looking, she leaned toward believing the little theory.

Meanwhile...

Three huge white gorillas, three times the size of normal ones, were at the top of a mountain, visualizing what was causing the noise in the big tree route.

The monsters had four arms and six red eyes. The one in the middle growled, exposing its pointy fangs.

As they jumped down from the mountain, the moment they landed on the ground, the whole forest shook as if an earthquake had occurred.

But Han Bai knew too well: "Fuck, they've found us."
