Chapter 418: The final step.
Mykel felt like he was living in a nightmare that felt so real and how he watched himself massacre Jeanne and the others with his own hands. When he looked around, he saw himself hiding inside the clouds, a lot of them, and he could feel them like they were a part of him.
"Where am I?" Mykel got up from the throne and felt numb all over his body.
"The place where you came from, the void that devours everything and this place is where everything you have devoured goes to," Sasha answered. "But since you haven't devoured anyone, this place is empty and your power with its insatiable hunger made you lose control," she continued.
"So those things that have been staring at me, they're me?" Mykel asked and stared at the glowing yellow eyes around him.
"They're your power, but you still can't control them. Your training starts now, and make them all succumb and kneel to your command," Sasha nodded and then clapped her hands. "You have to show them who's the master of your body because each of them will try to take it from you," she pointed out, then blinked away to the distance.
The moment Sasha was far from Mykel, the abysses came back and surrounded him. They swarmed him, but Mykel was still powerless and he couldn't stop them from trying to take his body and soul. He didn't know what to do or how to deal with them because they were too powerful for him to handle.
"It's not as simple as trying to overpower them with physical strength, and it's not as complicated as trying to overpower them with willpower," Sasha said as she watched Mykel struggle to push off the abyss from him. "It's something in between, it's something that not only puts you safe but also benefits them," she pointed out.
Mykel listened to Sasha's clues and thought about what would make him safe and benefit them. He then realized what she meant and then he stopped struggling and looked at each one of them.
"Stop," Mykel said calmly. "I know what you all want, and I will give you what you want," he looked at those glowing yellow eyes around him.
All the abysses stopped groping him and listened to Mykel's words which surprised him that it actually worked. They slowly moved away from him, giving him space since he finally understood what they wanted.
"I'll satiate your hunger if you let me be. I'll let you devour everything, but you have to follow my rule," Mykel said as he looked at each of them. "We are the same, and that should be enough for you to understand my situation. I'm the only one who can satisfy you," he added.
All the abysses slowly moved away and dispersed, the pitch-black clouds disappeared into thin air. Mykel could feel the power inside his fingertips move through his palm and go to his chest when his whole body felt the power, that was when he felt thirst and hunger that he had never felt before.
"You managed to make them listen, now is the time for you to control the urge of devouring," Sasha said as she landed right in front of Mykel. "The power that you're about to devour is nothing like you can imagine. If you can't control your hunger, the power that you're going to devour will only kill you," she warned.
Mykel looked at Sasha and that was when he could finally see the power within her. He could see the black mist oozing behind her back, how she controlled them, and the hunger of the abysses she controlled. He could sense the insatiable hunger from that black mist alone, and it was more terrifying and powerful than his.
"It took me eons to be able to control my hunger, but I'm not you, so I don't think you can use my experience to measure yours," Sasha said.
Mykel smiled as he scoffed and stood straight as if nothing was happening to his body so suddenly. He looked at her in the eyes and then looked at his hands that started sipping out pitch-black mist.
"I have gone through countless challenges in life, and I welcome anything that tried to put me down," Mykel answered and clenched his fist, dispersing the mist. "This much is nothing, and I'm ready for the next step," he continued.
Sasha couldn't believe even though she was seeing it with her very own eyes that Mykel had suppressed the insatiable feeling. She wondered if it was because of his will to protect the ones that were precious to him or if it was because of his nature since he was an abyss to begin with.

"Alright. Let's head out because everyone is already busy with their training," Sasha smiled and then disappeared into thin air.
Mykel took control over his body again after it was being controlled by one of the abysses. He looked at the dome made of the abyss, and then Sasha devoured the dome since it belonged to her. When he looked around, everyone was talking about their other selves and learning something new.
"Welcome back, and it's exactly as Lyneth said, you're truly unpredictable even in this matter," Amaryllis said as she walked toward Mykel. "Since Sasha has brought you back, that means you're ready for the power, so let's make it quick," she lifted her left hand and a blinding ball of light made the whole Empyrean World as dark as night.
"Is that her power?" Mykel squinted his eyes and every hair on his body signaled to him to stay away from that ball.
"Yes, and you're going to devour it, get used to it, turn it into your own power. Once you managed to do that, there's still one last step for you to do," Amaryllis answered, and then she looked at Elena who was meditating with Lyneth in front of her, guiding her. "You will have to resonate your power with hers, but that's after she managed to overpower Aevia's power or at least until her life energy is on par with Aevia's," she continued.
Mykel saw everyone busy learning and training, giving him the urge to meet Aevia who toyed with him. He had never been so excited in his life, and then he looked at the ball of light in front of him and reached his hand to it.
When Mykel touched the ball of light and tried to devour it with the abyss that he released, the dazzling light overwhelmed the darkness of the abyss. He couldn't touch it even if he wanted to, so he released more of the abyss and let it bask in that light because the light itself was enough to lessen his hunger.
"Mykel, the moment you absorb this power, Mykel from my timeline will lose almost all of his power. Do you know that?" Amaryllis stared Mykel in the eyes.
"I do. Because my power has exceeded what it was originally, I won't struggle to fight The Lord and Aevia. That means I have altered the future and I'm no longer desperate to sacrifice myself to him," Mykel answered as he stared at the ball of light that was being consumed slowly. "You're planning to go ahead and help them, don't you?" He looked at Amaryllis.
"Yes, so I'm asking you to prepare as quickly as possible. I might be able to give the power back to Mykel, but we won't be enough to deal with her, so come as soon as you're prepared to fight," Amaryllis answered and nodded in agreement.
"I owe my life to her," Mykel looked at Lyneth. "Don't worry, I'm not going to let him die. No matter what happens, we'll kill Aevia and end this for good," he continued and touched the ball of light.
Amaryllis watched Mykel take the ball of light from her hand and hold it in his hand tightly. It was enough sign that he could do the rest on his own and that it was time for her and the others to leave. She then looked at Lyneth watching Elena's growth from up close silently.
"Lyn, our job here is done," Amaryllis said as she walked toward Lyneth.
"Then you guys should go now," Lyneth responded as she kept staring at Elena. "I'm only going to be a deadweight to you guys if I follow you there. My current power only works in a realm of the past and dream, I'm useless in the realm of the present," she explained.
"So you're going to stay here?" Amaryllis furrowed her eyebrows. "If you come with us, there's a chance that your power will awaken again. Are you sure about this?" she added.
"The power that I have, I can feel it that it will backfire at me if I'm going to awaken this power further," Lyneth answered. "And the reason why I want to stay here is because I'll be the bridge to connect the past with the present. They won't be able to enter the presence without me, so it's my main reason," she continued.
Amaryllis nodded with understanding and then left to inform the others that it was time for them to leave. It was perfect timing that everyone had done giving their other selves the training they needed.
Everyone gathered in front of the cabin and they were nervous because it was about time for them to fight Aevia. They had done everything they could, trained as hard as they could, and learned their power to its limit.
"Good luck out there," Lyneth said as she looked at everyone who was in front of her.
They all nodded their heads and then Lyneth snapped her fingers, teleporting everyone to the space where Mykel and Elena were.
