Delayed Transfer

Several minutes passed and several people in casual clothing arrived. Donald informed them that they were the bodyguards that would follow them discreetly to do a lot of things aside from just simply protecting them like preventing awkward situations because of the guests’ unfamiliarity with the place, things like that.

“So more like assistants instead of men in black?” Mark asked.

“Yes. Discreet assistants who you’re not supposed to see if there’s no need for them. They have brought in the cars that will bring everyone to one of my five-star hotels. I already reserved the top two floors,” Donald said.

“Oh, the suite! Nice. I haven’t been to one yet,” Mark said.

“What is a five-star hotel? Is it like an inn?” Hamil asked.

“Yes but if the inn was a huge building that’s capable of providing all the best service in the world,” Robert said.

They all went outside at the behest of Donald and saw several limousines waiting for them. Mark could see that the people who came from the other planet were truly excited since everything was new. Hamil and his family together with Lorendo, Madam Luzviminda, and Nedertu were assigned to one of the limousines while Mark, Melissa, the twins, Liriel, Milena, Norleen, Lisa, and Connor were assigned to the other one while the rest Robert, Donald, and their families were on the third car but Albert wanted to be with Mark and the other kids so Robert allowed his son to join them on their limo.

The kids were so full of energy and they kept babbling non-stop. Good thing that Mark was used to the noise since he was a veteran attendee of Comic-Con or else he would have had a headache right now.

Before they left, Mark saw someone running outside from the house and it was Sam and the others.

“Hey! Why didn’t you wait for us?” Sam asked.

“I thought you were all planning to continue diving the dungeon,” Mark answered.

“Well, we did run the first floor twice until we reached level two but we decided to take a rest and went back to the circus then we read your letter so we hurried here,” Armina said.

“Why? We will just visit Disneyland for the kids and Robert and Donald will just bring Hamil, Lorendo, and Madam Luzviminda to a place where they can purchase things that are viable for trade. I said that in my letter and I thought you were all not going to be interested.”

The group then paused when they heard that.

“Yeah guys, he’s right. Let’s go back to Veltun and rest and after that let’s go to the second floor of the novice dungeon! I want to purchase spells!” Blake said.

Then without saying anything, Sam and the others went back inside the house planning to return to Veltun immediately.

Mark and Melissa looked at each other and then rolled their eyes at Sam and the other’s behavior.

Milena and the others had a questioning look on their faces.

“They're just overly excited,” Mark said to the others.

The limousines then left and headed to the hotel that Donald owned. Mark was impressed at how fast Donald worked but he knew that one of the reasons they were moving hastily was soon, the government would approach Mark to talk to him about “things”.

The hotel they arrived at was truly world-class and even though their group looked like ragtag actors from a gypsy fair, they received top-of-the-line service from the hotel people. It’s expected since the owner of the hotel Donald Dren was there with them.

They were then led to the top two floors of the hotel and when they entered it, everyone's eyes were very wide, taking in the luxurious suite that they stumbled into. The soft carpet, the chandelier, the antique furniture, everything looked truly high-end but the best thing in the suite was the view of the city. They all could see the tall skyscrapers starting to light up with lights now that the sun was starting to set.

Everyone stood beside Mark in front of the huge windows.

“Your world is truly different,” Milena said softly.

The suite had three rooms. Mark and the kids would stay in the master bedroom, Milena, Lisa, and Norleen would stay in the second room while Nedertu and Connor would stay in the third room. Melissa rented her room. On the floor below them, Hamil would stay with his family together with Lorendo and Madam Luzviminda.

According to the schedule given by Donald, the next day during the first few hours, would be spent shopping for dresses that all of them could wear so they could blend in without any issues. In the afternoon, Hamil, Lorendo and Madam Luzviminda would separate from them since they would need to follow Robert and Donald to help the rich men select items that they could trade for mana stones on the other planet while the rest would continue spending the rest of the day shopping.

After dinner, Donald arrived and gave Mark and Melissa black credit cards which they accepted gracefully but as soon as Donald left, Melissa shouted.

“What is that card?” Lisa asked Melissa.

“This is the most powerful thing in the whole world! Unlimited money!” Melissa gushed while hugging the card.

“She’s exaggerating but not she’s not incorrect. With this card, we can buy anything we want tomorrow. This is my plan my plan for tomorrow, me, the twins, Liriel, Nedertu, and Connor will go together for shopping while the women will go on their own,” Mark said.

“Why is that? Why can’t we go together?” Norleen asked.

“Mark is correct. Men and women should do their shopping separately. We will need to spend untold hours shopping for the correct dresses, shoes, purses, and accessories while they would probably spend just an hour for that and then they would probably spend the rest of the time buying toys,” Melissa said which Mark didn’t deny.

Mark was thankful that there would be no communication barrier due to his Comprehend Spell and the people from the circus were well-versed when it came to handling themselves in a new location with a different culture since the traveling circus had been doing that since time immemorial.

“What do you mean we’ll spend time on toys? The children will only be the ones who are going to be interested in toys,” Nedertu said and Melissa laughed when she heard that.

“When she said toys she meant not the regular ones but items created for men like gadgets and stuff,” Mark explained.

“Like the ones I saw in some of the movies? Like drones, motorcycles, dirt bikes, VR glasses, those kind of things?” Nedertu asked beginning to get excited and even Connor’s energy was building up.

“Yes, those kind of things. Since we were given a black credit card, we can afford everything in sight!” Mark said enthusiastically since he too was looking forward to updating the gadgets that he could store in his inventory.

“What about our toys?” Isaac protested.

“Of course, we’ll spend a huge amount of time on that as well since you kids are still my priority. After we purchase our clothes, we will head directly to the kid’s Toy Store. Good thing that Donald assigned some assistance to us although I’ve only been gone for less than a year, it would still be best to have someone with us who will know the places that we need to go to. You know what let me talk to Donald.”

Mark then called Donald on his cellphone and informed the man of their need for a guide for tomorrow's shopping needs and Donald said that he would handle it.

“Well, I don’t need a guide,” Melissa said confidently while admiring the glittering black credit card.
