Death System: I awakened SSS rank System

Chapter 9: Guide Talks

Inside a room, the three Guides from before are sitted. Their room was quite more lavish than the normal rooms of the players. Four lavish King sized bed, golden tables, a wardrobe built with diamonds. Everything smelt standard and quality.

"This set is the largest and that makes it harder for us." Terry said and leaned on his chair. The other two sat opposite him not looking at each other but staring at their cups of expensive wine.

"I know. We should have recruited them when Steve told us to. One of the regrets I still have." Lector said almost crying.

"We acted based on what we wanted. If we had recruited them then, we would have lost the next Soul Guide. Did you want that?" Terry asked like he knew what his answer would be.

"...we had no choice." Lector said and Terry smiled faintly.

"So how do we get rid of the damn thing!" Terry said as his mood changed almost immediately. Lector didn't respond to him.

"Why the fuck us no one talking for crying out loud!? Do you any thing I don't?" Terry asked feeling a fool of himself as none of his partners responded to his statements.

"How we deal with it isn't a problem?" Terry's eyes widened in shock as he heard Lector's words.

"What does that mean?" Terry asked a bit puzzled. Lector stood from his seat and walked towards the window. His eyes scanned the nothingness of the rifts they were in.

"Who is it? That should be the question. It's existence can be snapped like a chopstick in our hands as far as it hasn't corrupted the minds of others." the female Guide said plainly.

Terry stared at her in shock. His mind raced for a million times before his nervous system could regain stability. He then turned to Lector.

"Do know how damn serious this is?" Terry asked in a hushed tone. Lector smiled to himself. Smiled like he was just an innocent young man who didn't understand Terry's words.

"Yes I do. Very well enough. I'm devising a way to fish out the culprit. I would need time." Lector said and Terry frowned in anger.

"You seriously do not want to be executed do you?" Terry said angrily and Lector turned around now. His face displayed the smirk he has been hiding for long.

"Yes. I just need time."

"Time? The suspect grows by time and how the fuck should that be a reassuring enough to be convince me?!" Terry said. The female Guide didn't talk. Just did fine with watching.

"That's because I do not need to convince you." Lector and grinned lightly.

Terry stared at him in shock. Was he now opposing him?

"What is wrong with you? I serve you—" he could not finish his statement before Lector closed the gap between them.

His hands wrapped around his mouth to stop him from speaking. Terry stared at him in shock and slammed his fists against Lector's head but Lector didn't let go.

"Don't speak. I beg of you." he said almost bleeding out tears. Actually a bead of tears dropped to the ground.

Terry stared at him and tried to him again but he paused and eased. Lector then slowly uncovered his mouth.

"Thanks. Just give me a little time. I would not only fetch out the damn disgust but also end it."

Terry stared at him wondering if it would be wise to give him more time. Then he stared at Lector's desperate eyes and concluded.

"Fine. Just don't screw this up." Terry warned before standing up. Lector stared at him as he exited the door.

"Did you really have to pull that up?" the female Guide said in a mocking tone. Lector turned to her and shrugged.

"Easier to get him on his soft spot."

"Got to be real there." she muttered to herself.

"I need you to do something for me. It would only be a little favour." Lector said and smirked widely. She stared at him like she was bored of his voice.

"What sort of favour?" she asked without looking at him.

"You'll just..."
