Cursed to level 1 with an Ego weapon

Oswald gets engulfed by Aurelia's [Inferno] skill. She is smiling from ear to ear, starting to chuckle at the sensation of victory she is already feeling. Why would she not feel that way? She has her drake in case things go wrong, and these guys kept staying in the background and getting people killed without question.

But as the flames start to die, she gets a glimpse of his figure still standing like he did not just receive a blast of a powerful finishing spell.

"Fuck... You are stronger than I thought, I will give you that."

"That is quite a great spell... A powerful fire skill capable of defeating every enemy in one or two hits... Even when you are not a mage." He says as the flames and smoke start to dissipate and reveal his form.

He is standing there like nothing. Not a scratch, not a burn. The only object in his person that got hit by the fire is the cloak he was wearing, revealing his armor underneath.

A full plate armor with gemstones of multiple colors as decorations along the neck, a necklace made of some rare metal and a series of rings in his fingers. If anything, Aurelia knows that he has equipped himself with enough equipment to have some nice modifiers, just the same strategy Amber seems to be applying to recover her own strength.

"Someone came prepared!" She smirks.

"Heh... Of course I did! I won't let you take away the town from me! All the work I have put to this day, and you come in at the last moment, starting to ruin my plans... So I prepared this equipment from everything I have, items prepared to deal with someone like you!"

"Oh? Hohoho...! Let's see if you can even exploit it!" She answers with a smirk.

They start exchanging blows once more, Aurelia is trying to keep the attacks and pressure going to not let him do any skill or attack against her. For her, that shot he got was a simple stroke of luck he had.

And at one point, instead of attempting to hit her, he runs towards an alley that gives into an inner patio between a set of small apartment buildings. She follows, only to get hit by a barrage of spells coming from different directions.

"Shit!" She screams, trying to cover herself with both arms.

Ice and electric magic hit her, repeatedly damaging her and causing the different effects of the spell types. Ice reduces her resistances, electric burns through her MP, water jets make her a bit slower as she is wet, and the mixture of the elements, that react to one another on impact, cause improved damage.

She just walked into a trap that Oswald set for her.

"Y-you coward!" She screams, while a cloud of dirt covers her entirely, hiding her presence.

"It is called strategy." Oswald explains and Rushes towards her, swinging his sword and hitting her in the stomach.

The air escapes her lungs, Aurelia hits a wall, being launched by the power of the strike, and goes through the stone into the room inside, bleeding and left with low HP.

"S-shit...!" She curses.

She told the drake to stand back... It probably stood where it was.

Aurelia was, once again, caught by her lack of magical resistances and capacity to counter against spells.

"She is up ahead. I can see her soul... And she is following another strong soul towards a bunch of them!"

Karina's words made me shudder. She is following a strong soul towards a group, it makes me feel this is a trap, and maybe one she is running into without realizing.

"Aurelia might be running into a trap!" I tell Lisa. "Let's go!"

"Ah!" She stutters. "Please, Ellen. Don't let her be injured!"

While we run. I hear it. Explosions and several attacks of spells.

"Those are spells being casted." Karina says, impacted as we realize what it might mean.

Shit... She was meant to come to us when she was done! I hope she did not do anything reckless while I was gone! Didn't she just tame a freaking drake?! That beast is strong against magic without preparation!

And then we reach them. The exact moment Aurelia is launched towards a wall and goes through it.

With an overdecorated item set, walking with confidence, I see Oswald making his way towards the hole he just created with the dragonkin.

"As I said, dragon, I came prepared!" He screams while entering.

He has not noticed us. Lisa is with her hands in her mouth.

I guide her to hide behind the building when I notice the place is surrounded with mages, who are looking down from the windows. Hopefully none saw us.

"Hehe... You sure did!" I hear Aurelia say.

From the front of the building where we are hiding, I notice the door is open to go inside. Maybe we can prepare an ambush and heal Aurelia back up so she can fight a bit more while I deal with Oswald. I could get overwhelmed if he uses his mages against me.

But how did he manage to injure her before getting hurt? He didn't seem as strong as she when we met.

"How strong was he?"

"He isn't as strong as Aurelia." Karina says while we move through the first room and get behind the door to the one where they are at. I open the door slightly, where I see the scene of Aurelia in the ground with a pile of rubble from the structure and Oswald walking towards her.

I know what kind of equipment he has.

"You have been a thorn in my back since you arrived. You stopped the lich that was meant to deal with the old man who I know was an important adventurer back in the day. And then came the group I hired to take that teacher prisoner. I saw you enter the house where Salia and I were running experiments with sacrifices, and then you manage to go inside and take away that Jace guy who somehow knew all of my targets... So I had to come prepared" he points at his armor. "Equipment that is resistant to your strategy of fight, a brainless barrage of aggressive attacks without any thought of fire and physical damage. I am ready for all you can try to throw at me!"

Now I know exactly what he did to overcome Aurelia without being killed. Clever, preparation is key. But... This is perfect for us.

Aurelia looks in my direction for a second, before looking back at Oswald, who points his sword at his neck. Maybe he believed she was looking to escape.

"What did that big tits woman tell you? The one with the Eye?" Aurelia is smirking.

"She fell unconscious after using teleportation. She still has to wake up. You managed to injure her and almost killed her."

"Hah! You are such an idiot!" She laughs. "I was not the one that destroyed her!"

Oswald's eyes go wide when he hears that information.

And before he can react, I cast [Icebolt] three times towards him.
